Horror is a love story.
[Text ID: When I was a little girl, my cousin and I watched a hammerhead shark die agonizingly on the beach. I had nightmares about sharks for months, afterwards. Sharks in swimming pools, sharks in the bathtub, sharks that could fly and were inescapable. I shied away from deep water, but I threw myself into shark lore. I wanted desperately to know everything about them; what they ate, where they swam, if they really weren’t able to swim backwards. I watched documentary after documentary, horror movie after horror movie. Shark Week became my religion; the couch was my church. I sat there, frightened and fascinated in equal measure. When you spend so much time on something, on trying to understand it, you can’t help loving it a little. You can love something and still be scared of it.
There was an old European folk tale about werewolves. They would lose themselves in their beast form and kill anything, even if they didn’t want to. They were terrifying. But in the story, if someone who loved them–was terrified, but loved them anyway–reached out through the fear, reached out through the monster and to the man underneath…If they reached out and called him by name, it would remind him of who he was–that he was loved–and he would be human again. So maybe that’s what we’re doing, when we chase what scares us. We’re trying to say its name. Trying to change it into something we can love and hold onto.]
wait its that bad in india????
as of 22nd April 2021 we have about 16.3M total cases and a death toll of 187K . Only about 1.4% of the population has been fully vaccinated yet.
on top of that, we've been facing a major shortage in oxygen supply (to the point where the govt has decided to airlift oxygen from other nations), a shortage in hospital beds and services. The numbers keep rising and with the spread of the new strain, the scenario has transformed into something deadlier than ever.
our infrastructures are falling apart and we need all the help possible at this very moment so the nation can be atleast saved when there's still a chance. I've already lost two of my friends, a teacher and family to the second wave and I can only imagine how much worse it can get. so i would like to take this opportunity to link in some donation posts below–

If want you to live in a world without police (abolition) you can start here; start utilizing local resources more and start investing in them.

Tardigrade corn maze at Treinen Farm in Wisconsin.
theres something deep about such a small animal being drawn on such a large scale like do they know does the tardigrade know of their own portrait that is comparable to thousands of universes in length on their scale? a portrait drawn by beings that they know nothing about, but whom know so much about them? beings who live in an entirely other world, yet still admire the small tardigrade? admiration enough to give a tardigrade a glimpse of a micro and macro world in mirror, to let the tardigrade feel what is felt by those who know them? im not crying about the tardigrade cornfield, im not
Can you imagine, though, if there are beings as big to is as we are to tartigrades? And they made a portrait of us out of galaxies or something?
That's a fun thing to think about.
this is exactly what moved me to reblog, but the feeling was so immense that i couldn't make words around it.
