Octonauts OC: Jessica Dog

commission i got from Roe on TikTok! meet my first Octonauts OC, Jessica Dog! I created her when I was 7 so she’s been with me for 14 years!

Energetic toddler, momma’s girl and always “why?” to everything! All the members of the crew love her sm, and Shellington is her main father figure!

Out of all the Vegimals Tunip is literally her playmate and best friend. She loves to wrestle with Kwazii, learn stuff with Shellington, Tweak, and Professor Inkling. Captain Barnacles is her honorary “uncle”; she looks up to him the MOST!

When this girl was younger Dashi would take the Gup-A out for late night fish seeing to try to settle Jess down. Jessica’s favorite animal is Stingrays she LOVES LOVES THEM.

Idk who her dad is cause in my head she just existed?? Like her father was never mentioned but Dashi being a mom literally feels so right! And of course when Auntie Koshi comes to visit it’s even better!

I ship Dashington soo YEAH!!!! Here’s her ages throughout the Octoverse!

Octonauts - Rubbing off on each other

In certain episodes, the Octonauts have certain traits rubbing off.

Barnacles has been teaching Dashi about piloting ships and whatnot (Above and Beyond)

Kwazii often says "come on, show yourself". Barnacles has said this during the Damselfish episode.

In the Dwarf Lanternshark episode, Barnacles is heard saying "fascinating", like Shellington.

Kwazii's pirate lingo has rubbed off on Peso a little bit. ("I reckon it be a treasure map"; Pirate Parrotfish). But I also believe that it's rubbed off on everyone else. Sometimes, characters say "aye aye, Captain" to Barnacles, or "Ahoy there".

Thanks to Kwazii, Peso has become more daring. (Driving the Gup B; catching a baby snake in a whirlpool)

Tweak has influenced Dashi to help out with constructing things. Likewise, I believe Dashi has influenced Tweak to become more active in missions in Above and Beyond.

Dashi has been learning more about science stuff with Shellington. Likewise, Shellington is more calm when driving the Gups with her around.

The Vegimals have slowly been using more English phrases from the whole crew.

At this point I feel like Captain Barnacles is just collecting young adults who are missing parental figures like Pokemon.

He just like.. collects them. I don’t even know why. You missing a parent? Don’t worry, Barnacles will fill in the gap

Tweak only has her dad? Adopted.

Kwazii was raised by his grandfather? Adopted.

Peso’s dad has been out of the picture for a while (and it should stay that way)? Adopted.

Shellington has a rocky relationships with his parents? Adopted.

Dashi and her mom don’t get along? Adopted.

The vegimals are being raised by their single father? Adopted.

It. just. keeps. going.

I think that the first time Barnacles and Ranger Marsh met, Barnacles pointed to Tweak and said “Just to let you know, that’s my daughter as well. Not negotiating.”

headcanon: Tweak thumps her foot. she has a steel toed engineer boot so it makes this loud CLANK when she thumps it against the hollow metal platform of the launch bay whenever shellington and/or kwazii arrive with some insanely wrecked precious gups or when inventing frustrates her

she worked on her thumping so it wouldn't be as startling but if you tick her off a little too much you hear a faint marmalade "clank" from the floor while she gives you a death stare
