This is a blog where I write headcanons/drabbles about diabolik lovers or whatever spooky things I have time to think about!
(;๏д๏). I'm relatively new to actually posting on tumblr so please excuse if things look ugly. I've been lurking around here for far too long, so I figured it's time to contribute.
I'm not that active, so I apologize if you send me any dms and they're left on delivered.

Diabolik Lovers PSVita Emulation: Visual Aid (PC GUIDE ONLY): PT. 1, PT.2
ft. the sakamakis & yui | masterlist. | currently playing: premonition - toby fox
disclaimer: i haven't consumed a lot of the official media from Rejet regarding diabolik lovers, so some of my posts will be inaccurate. please take everything with a grain of salt.
[sakamaki mansion - 逆巻邸]
ok, look. the idea of vampires having a giant mansion in the middle of buttfuck nowhere seems very hot in theory. especially with the implications behind the ability to afford said mansion. but realistically, the sakamaki's mansion is probably a lot more menacing in practice.
the mansion itself is centuries old. you can see it in the gothic architecture and the various pieces of 19th-century furniture. it's even more obvious when you realize the kitchen has no electric stoves or a microwave. there's not a need for it. vampires don't eat, not entirely, and the girls that get sent don't last long enough to use it.
location-wise, the mansion likely is build someplace far, far away from the nearest city. evidence by the fact that the brothers and yui have to take a limousine just to attend school (flex, much?). it's isolated, surrounded by sprawling forests that block out the sun and completely theirs. ideal for what those sick bastards get up to. reiji tells yui that she's more than welcome to "leave" if she's not satisfied with her living situation. likely because he knows that they're miles away from any sort of civilization, and she has no other means of getting there except by foot. obviously, yui can't just leave, which is how they like it. prey that can't escape is probably their favorite kind.
who knows how many bodies are buried underneath that place. the sakamaki brothers have been doing this for years, centuries even. reiji can't be bothered to keep count of those poor girls who get sent like lambs to a slaughterhouse. the others couldn't care less. all that really matters is what their blood tastes like.
the church certainly seems to know the type that the brothers prefer. docile, meek, and pliant. look however you'd like; at the end of the day you'll eventually meet the same fate. if you're pretty enough, kanato might find you a nice place in his dollhouse. that'd be nice, don't you think? your skin would be just like porcelain, left as a lifeless corpse while he gets to stroke your hair and put you in frilly dresses. he'd be doing you a favor by keeping you rather than letting the bugs eat your body.
you might think that with the six brothers around, the mansion would seem small, but you really underestimate just how massive the place is. it's easy to get lost in the endless hallways that seem to stretch on for miles. each one looks exactly identical. stray too far off and you'll find yourself staring into a dark hallway where the servants forgot to light up. stay longer, and you notice shadows crawling where they shouldn't. the locals call the mansion a "haunted house", and i don't think they're just talking about the sakamaki brothers.
thousands of 'brides' were probably sent by the church. each one just as confused and in the dark as yui was. again, the brothers can't be bothered to learn their names. not when there's six of them and only one of her. there's never enough to go around. in the end they all wind up a mound of dirt in the graveyard.
with the amount of death, it's no surprise that the mansion is lingering with vengeful spirits. not all of the ghosts are mean. if you're just like them, a sacrificial lamb sent by a cruel shepherd, they might take pity on you. sheep have to flock together, don't they?
late at night, you can still hear quiet sobs escaping from one of the locked doors in the upper wing. where some poor bride spent her last dying breath piecing together her neck after she'd pissed off subaru for the last time. whispers breathe over your shoulder when ayato's calling out "oi, tit-less!", telling you to stay put. disembodied hands encourage you into the closet when kanato's on his rampage, screaming about how someone has touched his precious teddy.
yui wonders how many girls came before her. they're all nameless, and during the times kanato drags her to his dollhouse, she can't bear the thought of meeting the eyes of those wax figures. when she spends the night bent over the porcelain edge of the bathtub, holding a rag over whatever gash one of the brothers has bitten into her, she contemplates whether they were just as frightened as her.
which is why, under the full moon's guiding light, she'll head to the graveyard. she tries her best to ignore the thought behind why the sakamaki's have their own. on one of the many empty headstones that litter across the graveyard, she sets down a small bouquet of roses; freshly picked from the garden. she'll press her hands together and pray—not for their salvation, but for god to put their souls to rest. she understands more than anyone that they've suffered enough. it's not a lot, not nearly as much as they deserve. but it's all she can offer.
it becomes a small tradition for her to do. sometimes before she heads out, reiji will spot her from his bedroom window. he'll watch her kneel down with a pair of shears and pluck out the best-looking roses for the bouquet. he finds it ridiculous, though he never goes out of his way to stop her. mainly because he'd be forced to admit he was watching (and he'd rather die than do that), and quite frankly, it's beneath him.
[underground - 地下]
the tunnels underneath span for miles. the longer you walk, the farther the distance from the end seems to grow. well, if you can make it past the smell. they probably span past the actual sakamaki estate itself and keep going beyond that.
given that there's a literal toture chamber connected to these things, i wouldn't be surprised if any brides of the past were dragged down here for "punishment" by laito or ayato's hand.
a happier headcanon is that this is probably how some of the familiars travel unseen. you know how victorian aristocrats made hidden passageways for servants to move about without being seen? yeah, same concept except much damper.
This is a tutorial on how to emulate and play on your own PC/Android the following Diabolik Lovers titles:
Diabolik Lovers Haunted Dark Bridal - Limited V Edition
Diabolik Lovers More Blood - Limited V Edition
Diabolik Lovers Vandead Carnival
Diabolik Lovers Dark Fate
Diabolik Lovers Lunatic Parade
Diabolik Lovers Lost Eden
(all six games have an english patch availble. i finally found em all !! thanks to @rachelaishi and @reijisteacup who shared them with me)
Before we start, the first thing you'll need is something to emulate these games on. This tutorial uses Vita3k, so I reccomend you use that lol.
You can download it here: https://vita3k.org
For those who want to play on their PC, keep reading. But for thoes who want to play on their android, scroll further down :)
PC
Unzip the vita3k folder you just downloaded (If you don't have a program to do this, I reccommend WinRAR. [just download it, no need to buy it] But I'm sure any will do)
Open the Vita3k.exe file to install it
Follow the installation instructions
When prompted to install firmware and font files please do so, don't skip by pressing next. You can find them here: firmware and font.
Select the install button for each, and then select said files from your downloads (or wherever you downloaded to files to) when prompted.
Click next when you have installed both. On the next page, click next again after selecting settings and preferences.
Now close Vita3k down and reopen it again.
You are ready to install some Dialover games XD
(if you run into any issues just DM me via either tumblr or discord)
NoPayStation has the PKG for all the above games.
Select the game you wish to download (click the name, it should open a pop-up window)
Then download the PKG file
Keep this pop-up window open, you'll need it for later.
Once done, in Vita3k, click file > install .pkg. Then select the game you just downloaded.
It will ask to verfiy the PKG, so you can select either work.bin OR zRIF. (work.bin involves downloaded another file from NoPayStation. While zRIF is just a code you can copy and paste)
If you chose work.bin: download the work.bin file from the game's pop-up in NoPayStation. then select it when prompted in Vita3k.
If you chose zRIF: copy the zRIF key from the popup window from before. (make sure you select the whole thing, it's quite long). Paste the key where prompted to in Vita3k.
The game should now install (if it hovers around 60-70% for a while don't stress)
Now, unless you can read Japanese, or are trying to learn to read Japanese, it's time to move onto the next step and get the English patches installed for all the games :)
Here are the english patch links for each game:
HDB english patch link
MB english patch link
VC english patch link
DF english patch link
LP english patch link
LE english patch link
Inside Vita3k, right-click on the game you just installed, press Open folder > Application > data.
Now, opening the folder you just downloaded (if its a zip, i reccomend you unzip before copying anything over) copy all the cpk files in the data folder, and paste them into data folder of the game you just opened through Vita3k in step 1. You will be replacing a combination of either the GAME.cpk, STORY.cpk or SYSTEM.cpk files depending on the game. I don't know why they're different, just depends on who and how they were patched I suppose. But this will replace most of the in-game text with english (most importantly the story haha)
You can repeat this step for each game, if you doing them all at once. But if you are itching to play the game right this second, please move onto the next step.
Close Vita3k again, then reopen it.
You are now ready to play Diabolik Lovers >:)
Andriod
Credit to the lovely @mp3minded for this tutorial. I don't have an andriod phone so I didn't consider it, but it's a great idea haha.
Vita3k should have downloaded as an apk.
You should now navigate to wherever the apk file was downloaded using a file manager app on your android. Click on it and install it. (if you don't have one, I have used ZArchiver personally, so you can try that).
Now download firmware and font files. You can find them here: firmware: http://dus01.psv.update.playstation.net/update/psv/image/2022_0209/rel_f2c7b12fe85496ec88a0391b514d6e3b/PSVUPDAT.PUP font: http://dus01.psp2.update.playstation.net/update/psp2/image/2022_0209/sd_59dcf059d3328fb67be7e51f8aa33418/PSP2UPDAT.PUP?dest=us
When asked whether or not to create a new emulator path in Vita3k, make one just to be safe.
You are ready to install some Dialover games XD
NoPayStation has the PKG for all the above games.
But, if you prefer, here are the direct links to each of the games;
HAUNTED DARK BRIDAL: https://nopaystation.com/get/PSV/PCSG00272/IFDIABOLIKLOVERS/1/pkg?version=1.01
MORE BLOOD: https://nopaystation.com/get/PSV/PCSG00476/DIABOLIKLOVERSMB/1/pkg?version=1
LOST EDEN: https://nopaystation.com/get/PSV/PCSG00910/DIABOLIKLOVERSLE/1/pkg?version=1.01
Select the game you wish to download (click the name, it should open a pop-up window)
Then download the PKG file
Now keep this pop-up window open, as you'll need it to copy the zRIF key.
Once done, in Vita3k, click file > install .pkg. Then select the game you just downloaded.
It will ask to verfiy the PKG, so you can now go back and copy the zRIF key from the popup window from before. (make sure you select the whole thing, it's quite long). Paste the key where prompted to in Vita3k.
The game should now install (if it hovers around 60-70% for a while don't stress)
Now, if you're installing either HDB or MB, keep reading, otherwise, you should be good to play the game :)
Here are the english patch links for each game:
HDB english patch link
MB english patch link
VC english patch link
DF english patch link
LP english patch link
LE english patch link
This is the most complex step, so take it slow if you need to. First, find the new folder you made for your Vita3k Emulation, and follow this exact pathway for each game.
HDB; ux0 > app > PCSG00272 > data.
MB; ux0 > app > PCSG00476 > data.
VC; ux0 > app > PCSG00472 > data.
DF; ux0 > app > PCSG00530 > data.
LP; ux0 > app > PCSG00826 > data.
LE; ux0 > app > PCSG00910 > data.
Now replace the GAME.cpk file with the one you just downloaded. (it has the english translation in it).
Close Vita3k again, then reopen it and/or clear Vita3k’s cache before you start up the game. Set up your button config in Vita3k too.
You are now ready to play Diabolik Lovers
Gatekeepers of the english fan-translation patch be damned. If Daisuke Iwasaki won't release an offical english version of Diabolik Lovers (and a Chinese one instead apparently 😭) then I'm emulating his damn game. I've bought a bunch of offical merch anyway, not like I haven't supported the company lol.
Diabolik Lovers PSVita Emulation: Visual Aid (PC GUIDE ONLY) - PT. 2
This follows the PC guide and covers how to install English patches + save files. Installing the emulator and installing games are in part one.
Hello! This is part two of a visual aid meant to follow this tutorial posted by @chestnut-trotter !! All credit goes to them; I just wanted to make a helpful guide for anyone who needs it.
Text/steps from the original tutorial have been colored pink.
ENGLISH PATCH INSTALLATION
Regarding the original links to the patches, some may have different download methods that should be fairly self-explanatory :)
1. Inside Vita3k, right-click on the game you just installed, press Open folder > Application > data.
2. With the data folder open, open a separate file tab where the patch file is located (likely your downloads). From here, drag it over into the data file. Keep in mind that you SHOULD see that the newly downloaded English patch has the same name as the original Japanese one.
If done correctly, it should give you this pop-up window. Click ‘Replace the file in the destination’.
If you’re downloading multiple patches in one session, I'd highly recommend downloading them one at a time to avoid any confusion with file names.
1. Close Vita3k again, then reopen it. 2. You are now ready to play Diabolik Lovers >:)
As @chestnut-trotter said, now you're ready to meet your vampire boy toys (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ !!
SAVE FILES
This is completely my own thing, separate from the original tutorial.
You may notice that when booting up the game, you receive this string of code in the Vita3K emulator.
Don't fret!! It looks scary, but the solution is rather simple. Whenever you're able to save in-game, select 'Enter' to open this menu (or whatever key you have it set up as).
Once here, navigate to the 'Save'. Once you're able to see the save slots, use your MOUSE instead of the keyboard controls. If you attempt to save with the keyboard, it will not work. It will ask you to confirm to save, and simply use your mouse for that as well.
So far, I haven't had any issues with saving like this despite the number of times it gives me the red code. I can load saves just fine. If you aren't experiencing this issue, then continue being worry-free!
That's it! The last bit about the save files plagued me for the last two days. I can't even convey to y'all how embarrassed I felt after finding out all I had to do was use my MOUSE. Oh well, the problem has been solved!
Have fun with your vampire husbandos! I know I will. (•⚗৺⚗•)
Diabolik Lovers PSVita Emulation: Visual Aid (PC GUIDE ONLY) - PT. 1
This follows the PC guide and covers how to install the Emulator and install games. English patches + save files are in part two.
Hello! This is a visual aid meant to follow this tutorial posted by @chestnut-trotter !! All credit goes to them; I just wanted to make a helpful guide for anyone who needs it.
The numbered steps in this post DO NOT match exactly with the original post. Text/steps from the original tutorial have been colored pink.
VITA3K INSTALLATION
This tutorial uses Vita3k, so I recommend you use that lol. You can download it here: https://vita3k.org
Once you're on the website, click ‘Download’in the top bar; it will then take you to this screen. For this tutorial, we’re following the Windows download since it's what I use. Choose ‘X64’
2. Once downloaded, you can either click the file in the upper right corner OR go to the file icon in your taskbar and navigate to 'Downloads' The download should pop up in the top right corner of your browser. If it doesn’t, try clicking the downloads button on the far top right, and it should show up.
1) Unzip the vita3k folder you just downloaded (If you don't have a program to do this, I reccommend WinRAR. [just download it, no need to buy it] But I'm sure any will do)
3. Right-click to get this drop-down menu, then hit ‘Extract All…’if button is unavailable, please check with the original tutorial.
4. This menu will pop up. You can either extract it to downloads by pressing 'Extract' or place it elsewhere. To place it elsewhere, choose ‘Browse’ instead.
(Read the following steps if moving elsewhere) It will bring you to the normal file screen.
Scroll down on the far left side until you see the ‘Windows(C:)’ and click on it. From here, click Users → [your user].
Once inside, create a new folder (you can do this by pressing left-click on any empty space). Label this folder Emulator; this will help keep things organized
5. Press ‘Select Folder’ at the bottom right corner.
Once back to the extraction pop-up, make sure that everything is in the right location and that you have checked the ‘Show extract files’ button
Once you hit ‘Extract’, you should receive a separate window that shows you where all the files have been extracted to.
2. Open the Vita3k.exe file to install it
6. Double-click the Vita3K.exe file (it may appear as just ‘Vita3k’). Depending on your PC, it may give you this pop-up; just click ‘More Info’, then ‘Run anyway’ to bypass the warning and launch it
3. Follow the installation instructions + 4. When prompted to install firmware and font files please do so, don't skip by pressing next. You can find them here: firmware and font.
7. You should receive this pop-up. Once here, follow the instructions from the menu.
‘Download Pre-Install Firmware ’: After you click, it'll take you to a separate website. It may give you a countdown at first.
If nothing occurs or downloads (like in my case), you can right-click on the link and click ‘Save link as…’*
Note: make sure the link saves as a .PUP file, not a .html (this means you’ve saved the webpage, not the actual .PUP file)
Repeat the same steps as before for ‘Download Firmware: English (US)’ and ‘Download Firmware Font Package' . Note: for 'Download Firmware: English (US)' you will have to right-click the blue download button instead of a link.
Your browser may say that an "insecure" download was blocked; just hit ‘Keep’ to download anyway.
5. Select the install button for each, and then select said files from your downloads (or wherever you downloaded to files to) when prompted. + 6. Click next when you have installed both. On the next page, click next again after selecting settings and preferences.
8. After you hit ‘OK’ in the emulator pop-up, you will be taken to this screen. Click ‘File’ in the top corner and install your firmware (These will be the (.PUP) files). Regarding step 6, it did not occur for me.
Ignore the red code; this just means the emulator can’t connect to Discord, which shouldn’t be a problem.
7. Now close Vita3k down and reopen it again.
9. After closing Vita3K and reopening, you should no longer see the yellow code. The DB code should now say it’s up to date. Now we're ready to download games (✌゚∀゚)!!
GAME INSTALLATION TUTORIAL
1. Select the game you wish to download (click the name, it should open a pop-up window) + 2. Then download the PKG file.
1. When the pop-up appears, it may not do anything even after clicking ‘Download PKG’. Right-click this and choose ‘Save link as… ’. Again, make sure things are in the correct locations, and press ‘Keep’ if it says the download was blocked. It may take a few minutes to download, so just wait.
4. Once done, in Vita3k, click file > install .pkg. Then select the game you just downloaded.
This is Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal - Limited V Edition
5. It will ask to verify the PKG, so you can select either work.bin OR zRIF. (work.bin involves downloading another file from NoPayStation. While zRIF is just a code you can copy and paste)
zRIF key method: select ‘Enter zRIF key manually…’, then copy the key from the NoPayStation pop-up and paste it into Vita3K before hitting ok.
work.bin method: Before clicking anything in Vita3K, download the work.bin file from the NoPayStation pop-up. It should show in the top right corner; if not, then right-click and choose ‘Save link as…’ Back in Vita3K, select ‘Select .bin/ .rif file…’. It will open up your files, find where the work.bin file was saved (likely your downloads), and then click to install
Your games should show up now!
Because I've nearly reached the image limit, I will be posting the visual aid for installing English patches HERE.
Hopefully, this made things a little easier than doing it blind! There will be no gatekeeping here. I tried my best to explain alongside the images, but if anything doesn't make sense, please DM/Comment and I will do my best to help!
