Sometimes I make art. And sometimes I do bloody zombie makeup. But that's the same thing, right?
I am currently completely spiritually obsessed with Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. It has me in its snares.
Also have a great love for MMFR, OFMD, WWDITS, JTHM, WTNV, Fallout, and skeletons.
My activity can be a bit sporadic. And I swear I will finish my writings eventually.
AO3 has recently seen a wave of comments claiming to be made by the "AO3 Trust & Safety team", notifying you that your account has been restricted. These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers and your account has not been restricted.
AO3 volunteers, including the Policy & Abuse committee, will never communicate with you through comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
We suggest that you review your account to verify that you're using a unique and secure password. Check out the advice from our Policy & Abuse committee on Protecting Your AO3 Account and Keeping Your Account Secure.
If you believe your AO3 account has been compromised for any reason (i.e. you received an email that your username changed), you can change or reset your password to ensure control of your account. Changing your password will automatically log you out of all sessions on all devices. You can find the option to change your password in your Preferences.
If you encounter one of these comments on your own work or someone else's, please report them to the Policy & Abuse committee. To do so:
Select the "Thread" button on the scammer's comment. This will take you to the specific comment page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Policy Questions & Abuse Reports.
In the "Brief summary of Terms of Service violation" field, enter "Spambot".
In the "Description of the content you are reporting" field, enter "This is a spambot, their username is USERNAME."
Reporting in this fashion helps us auto-sort your report so that it can be handled as soon as a Policy & Abuse volunteer is available. To help us address reports about these types of bots as fast as possible, please only submit one report per account, and don't include multiple accounts in the same report.
We also encourage you to share this post and help spread the word about how to protect yourself from scammers and reduce spam on AO3.
For more information about spambots on AO3, you can review our News Post on the topic.
It can be somewhat disheartening when you the artisans and craftsman of yesteryear who created miracles out of limited technology go forgotten. Always nice to see someone somewhere making tributes to them.
I just noticed the pile of boots in the foreground from the dead soldiers, all discarded in Victor's efforts to bring new life, a new life which now exists in the Creature. And the juxtaposition of Elizabeth in awe of the Creature all while he, too, has been discarded in the same place as the boots...oh, Guillermo Del Toro.
#but i also can't help but think of auschwitz and the boots there#it's an inescapable image when you see a pile of shoes like this#not sure if THAT was del toro's intention but it grimly fits in some ways @muirin007 I do think this is intentional. It also shows that Victor could have clothed the creature better but chose not to. Somewhere in that pile is a pair of boots which fit the creature's feet perfectly, but he doesn't get to have that.
i’m going to be really honest with you guys i think the tendency to read the absolute worst possible intentions into every action you don’t agree with is getting too automatic and it’s eating you from the inside out
As someone who is both trans and has a child, absolutely hilarious to me that society presents one of these as absolutely only to be done if you are 110% certain and have proved to several people that you want it bad enough and are ready, and the other is like. You might as well everyone else does. Just do it nobody feels ready. You don’t want to? Yes you do
Especially since one of those is pretty reversible if you change your mind after a couple years and the other one, well, technically but that’s pretty frowned upon
Updated 2026 list of companies supporting ICE. Interactive map + sources included. Learn how these banks, tech companies, and other corpora
Honestly not a lot of surprises on this list - Apple, Amazon, Bank of America, Comcast, Google, Hulu, Meta, Spotify, etc. - the companies involved tend to be super horrible for society on many levels anyway.
Good news: at least one company has broken off their relationship with ICE due to the boycott. Boycotts work, if enough people participate for a long enough time, and make clear to the companies why they are boycotting them.
There's lots of lists on tumblr for better alternatives, including using credit unions, ebay, etc.
The director’s cut of Frankenstein has an extra nine minutes. Those nine minutes are fully dedicated to the creature climbing Victor’s balcony and overhearing the tea with Elizabeth like this:
In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:
Taylor Farms
Earthbound Farms
Little Salad Bar (Aldi)
Marketside (Walmart)
Kroger House Brand
Target private label greens
Costco salads and greens etc
Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce
Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.
This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.
We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.
was talking with my mom about 2025 frankenstein. had a conversation with her that went like this
me: "elizabeth is so much stronger than me because if victor was all up in my face breathing heavy and saying we have a physical bond, i would have picked him up, swept away his science notes and sat him on his table, got between his legs, and—"
my mom: "and let me guess, FINGERED HIM?!!"
and my jaw dropped. im starting to think that maybe i talk too much about whatever crosses my mind
I have no idea what I'm doing. @twiggzler - Tumblr Blog | Tumgag
