Could you make a one-shot or blurb about Tom wanting to marry the reader. Like where he is talking to the boys about wanting to take the next step, and like his parents, and asking them what to do. But is scared to ask the readers dad, cuz he feels like the readers dad doesn't really like him, but the dad is just protective and is really happy his daughter ended up with a good guy like Tom.
I don’t do requested one shots so this is a blurb!
3 years. You and Tom had been together for three years and he knows you’re the one. Everyone knows it too, you two were a match made in heaven and he bought the ring to prove it.
He had everyone on his side, even your entire family was happy for him but there was still one person he needed approval from. The one person that scared him.
“She’s really good with them, huh?” Toms hand was tight on his beer as he tried to start a conversation with your dad. It was Sunday at your house which typically meant a barbecue, Tom hung back with whatever family member caught him and you went to play with the little kids often enough.
“(Y/n)? She’s always been good with kids.” Your dad spoke as he didn’t make any eye contact with tom.
“Yeah,” he shifted on his feet a bit before looking up at your dad in the eye. “Look, I have been meaning to ask you this and I know now is not really the right time but if I don’t do it now I’ll never do it and then I’ll never—“ before tom could finish your dad cut him off.
“Marry her?” He finished. Toms eyes widened a little and nodded.
“Y-Yeah.” He said. He didn’t know if he was making it obvious or not but now everything was real.
“Tom, I tease you a lot only because it’s so easy. You’re a really good man, really good to everyone. You’re really good to her. I have never seen her so happy in my life, makes me feel like I might’ve went wrong somewhere but she loves you and you are the best man I could think of for her.” He placed his hand on Toms shoulder and Tom felt a million weights fall off.
“So a yes? I-I can marry her?” He tried to hold back his excitement and your dads face changed.
“That’s not really for me to decide. If she says yes I will be happy that she’s safe with you but I’m not the one who is going to wear the dress down the isle.” He turned back to look at you who was laughing with your nephew.
“Right. Thank you. Thank you so much, I-I know how much you mean to her and she really wanted your blessing.” He shakes the mans hand and the grip tightens which scares Tom.
“I said to marry her not to put a baby in her, okay?” Your dad spoke harshly to tom as he was about to walk to you. Tom turned a shade of red and nodded.
“Y-yes sir, w-we Don’t do that stuff anyways.” Tom wanted to meantally slap himself for the last part said but he didn’t. Your dad only let his hand go and let him go off to you.
“Mr. spiderman!” One of the kids shouts and they all get excited to go over to Tom.
“Thank god you’re here, I’m starving and they keep me on my feet.” You say out of breath.
“Well, foods done, so, c’mon. All of you let’s go!” Tom heard the sounds of disappointment wave through the backyard as the kids walked over to their parents to eat.
“Why are you so smiley?” You look at him trying to figure out his secrets and he shakes his head only kissing your cheek.
“It’s nothing.” He says as he pulls you closer.
The rest of the night was perfect, tom couldn’t have been more excited to have had everyone’s blessing before getting down on one knee and asking the question. He couldn’t wait until the day he saw you walk down the isle.
