"It's been quite some time, Mo. Your hair is longer, I believe."
"Yeah, it's something new I've been trying for a bit now. It's so good to hear from you, Summer."
"How have you been? Thriving, I hope?"
Summer does not smile, but those who know her best do not need to see her smile to feel an old sort of warmth coming from her cold expression.
"Good. It's nothing that exciting but it's enough. No real shortage of things to do living out in space after all."
Mo remembers. Times when she first met everyone. She was fresh when it came to most things then. Maybe a little young and naive. Still, she looks back on all of it with fondness.
Summer didn't really need to smile.
She would do it for both of them. Not like Mo didn't have a reason. All meetings have a reason to be something good. Especially with old friends.
"I suppose that's true. It isn't exceptionally difficult to stay busy. I was just about to go to a carnival in a distant earth dimension, if you'd like to join. It's sci-fi themed, so we'll fit right in."
She chuckles softly.
"This earth has a particularly tasty berry that makes the most amazing juice. At this carnival, they make popsicles from it. I'm eager to try."
"That sounds nice. I would love to." Been some time since she has visited any version of Earth.
"Well, anything tasty is always worth trying once. Sounds exciting."
Summer nods gratefully, pleased to have company. It's always difficult for her to enter a crowd, even if it's easy for her to blend in, so going with a friend makes it easier.
She brushes a hand through the air and the space-time continuum yields for her temporal injury, the gesture creating a deep red gash that they can step through. The smell of sterile ozone brushes through their hair.
Sure enough, they come out into a shadowy cluster of trees just on the other side of a street from a strange but safe nighttime carnival—something akin to a Japanese festival attended by people who look like they're auditioning for the Matrix.
She was right. They'll fit right in.
"I've swiped a currency card for this dimension. We can go nuts. Get whatever you like."
"Always one step ahead."
The way of travel was a good change of pace. That and actual natural air. Not like the market she visited didn't have natural air. Just something about it clicks when it's not filtered.
The matrix theme was just amusing to take in.
Still she is mentally bouncing. Mostly glad for the company. Feels new and familiar at the same time.
"Well, how about those popsicles you talked about?"
"Yes," she says, starting to cross the street with her hands folded neatly behind her back. Summer walks upright, with an eerily perfect posture, and to those who don't know her, it might even look haughty. "Between the two of us, I'm sure we can find them."
They walk down a long row of festival games and tents and pop-up shops where people in black are shopping for masks and kabobs of different types. It smells like roasted meat and incense. It's life, she thinks. It's... alive—with activity, with voices and noise, with scents, with air molecules that dance around them on the breeze.
It's been a while since she's felt alive.
The popsicles are not really a priority. Enjoying time with those around you is.
Alive. Places that spark with life. Tasty combinations she can remember to make in her own time with memories.
"Well, no rule says we can't enjoy the other things as we look."
"Correct me if I'm wrong," she says, stopping to look at a cart filled with artistically wrought Japanese masks. The craftsmanship is unbelievable. In this dimension, everyone takes their work so seriously, and no one showcases a bit of it until it's stellar and perfect. "You are the one who, when we all occupied that little pocket dimension that I designed to be an arena..."
Summer rubs her temples for a moment, like actually summoning the memory is a little bit painful. Her Time makes it hard to recall things at times, but core memories like this come with relative ease.
"You... made me cupcakes, whenever I was injured or sad."
She chuckles under her breath, without smiling, but the smile is probably implied.
"And we called them Sum Cakes. Finch would say, 'Everyone, come get Sum Cakes!' as I recall."
She blinks for a second before bursting into joyful laughter. She remembers how she first entered that arena thinking of learning something to help everyone.
However, it didn't take fighting to help. Just baking cakes with Finch.
"You're not wrong. I haven't thought about that arena in a while but I remember it too."
Talking with everyone. Baking with Finch. She may have been a teen still getting ahold of her own self but those were nice times.
"I guess I should give Sum cakes their comeback. I do still bake."
"It's been quite some time, Mo. Your hair is longer, I believe."

Well, that was nice. 😊
I guess coming back to things wasn't as bad as I though.
You look familiar. @explosions-and-chill
Oh? Wait...are you an Irken? Your little profile picture on your blog is so cute 💖
Sorry, I always thought the Irken species was so weirdly adorable in it's own way.
Hmmm..well I can't say if it was me you saw. Though I did stop by an Irken run planet once. Foodcortia does serve great takeout food.
That is the first time I've heard someone say that about a conquer species that wasn't already part of a version of the empire.
You know what, I stopped questioning a lot of things or realities since connecting here. You do you.
I get that sometimes. It's not really that bad if you get away fast enough before the little guys freak out. I'm well aware that they're conquers. Though if you stop to worry about that then you would never go anywhere.
It is strangely nice to hear from different aspects of a multiverse. It's a good change from what I remember.
Oh, is it rude to call your species little? You look young but I don't wanna assume.

I may have forgotten this blog existed. Well, life getting away from you shouldn't be a bad thing. It gives chances for new experiences.
The thing about things being infinite is just that. A lot of things to just see and do.
It's odd. Tending to my garden today I was wondering what my old friends were doing. I remember they used to get a lot of excitement so to speak.
It's been a while since I even wrote for this girl and I can't promise I'll be very active but here goes nothing.
Soooo....time for Andy to start talking on this blog.
I want to say this account still means a lot to me. I never really did any rp or anything too serious except a few fics before this account. Looking back on it there are so many mistakes from early on. My writing is way better now.
This blog isn't gonna go anywhere. Nowadays I made a really nice group of friends over with the Invader Zim Ask Blog people. We all stayed together for almost 2 years now. It's connected people from all over the world and still around.
The little shit of an Irken kid I run is over at @explosions-and-chill. Honestly been a treat to have Zes start out as young as she is and build herself up. Kid is a menace of my life and I mean that in a positive way.
@detective-of-the-night is the only 18+ of anything I still have available. It's been awhile since I actually visited the characters there but I do love them. most of the time I'm still on Discord but I'm also really horrible at reconnecting after so long. It's why I'm really happy with how things turned out over with the Invader zim blog.
Life wise I'm doing good. Got things worked out a bit more. Steady job. Insurance. What more do you need to survive 😅Got my thyroid removed recently. Mostly healed up.
I do hope those I first met here are still doing good. Mo is still special to me as well a relief and a ball of sunshine.
reblog if you’re 25+ and still roleplay; or if you believe older muns have a place in the rpc and shouldn’t be told to give it up when they turn 30.
i received this anon & i just want to make a point.
