( elodie yung. 35. she/her. cis female. ) are you a vigilante? something tells me that the salt air and warm breeze of the aegean sea that reminds her of a home that she longs for but she can never go back to, burning red that fills every inch of her - a rage that can only be dulled with the violence that she was weaned on and cannot escape, hands marred with red that cannot be washed no matter how hard she tries, the blood that courses through her veins that reminds her that she’s still alive, a unspoken sadness and longing of a life that could have been if her innocence wasn’t ripped from her before she was filled with such hatred make you who you are, elektra natchios. with the powers of assassin’s instinct and martial arts, you’re sure to have a resilient, impulsive personality — and you definitely belong to unaffiliated. were you listening to seven devils by florence + the machine on your way to the subway? it suits you. we can’t wait to see what you do next!

was your character “blipped” out? if so, what did they return to and how is it affecting them? if not, who important to them was blipped out, and what has it felt like after those five years have passed? ( if your character is a dc muse: what were they doing when they passed through the portal? )
elektra wasn’t blipped out and she wasn’t majorly affected by it either. all her family was dead so she didn’t have to worry about them and she didn’t really have any close friends. if anything, the blip meant she could live a semi-peaceful life without too many people hunting her down and trying to kill her.
where are they living? are they living with anyone?
elektra has property all over the world and doesn’t tend to stay in one place for too long. currently, she’s living alone in a penthouse apartment somewhere on the upper east side.
why is your character affiliated with who they’re affiliated with?
unaffiliated!! (though perhaps s.h.i.e.l.d in the future? 👀)
who are their major friends, allies, and foes:
friends/allies: ???
foes: um, a lot of people. she’s tried to kill a lot of people so there’s not really that many people that like her
whose hands do they believe the country should be in?
probably people who believe in true justice and aren’t corrupt. people who fight for the little people and fight for what they believe in.
what’s their current mental state at? their physical state?
girlie isn’t doing too well, but then again, when has she ever? having died and been resurrected twice has taken a toll on her mental health. physically, she’s probably stronger than ever as the hand basically made her into their personal weapon but she struggles with the darkness that’s inside her. she’s been trying to lead a life with good intentions but sometimes it feels like violence and bloodshed is her destiny.
the star : what does your muse take inner comfort in knowing ? what guides your muse ?
a desire to be a good person and use her abilities for a better purpose in the world rather for evil drives elektra. there must be a reason why she was resurrected twice, a reason why she was given another chance to rewrite her life, and she wants to prove that she’s more than a weapon.
the moon : what does your muse long for ? is it a realistic desire ?
for a home that she can’t go back to, for a family that she no longer has, for a life she could have had if her innocence wasn’t ripped away from her. she knows that these aren’t realistic things to long for so for now she’ll settle on finding people who can accept her for who she was and is, and calling them a family.
on paper, their friendship, if you could even call it that, didn’t make much sense; it was a strange concept at first glance but the closer you looked at it, the more it made sense. if anyone was to understand the things that elektra went through, it was going to be bucky barnes. both of them had been dealt an unfortunate hand of cards and trying to deal with the aftermath of it; one maybe dealing better than the other, at least that’s what it seemed on the surface. with bucky, she didn’t have to pretend (as much) or keep her guards up as high. “you know, that’s one thing i missed about new york; you can’t get pizza like this anywhere else. the italian government would probably destroy my villa if they ever heard me say that.”
“I’m not trying to test you, I’m daring you to test me, duh,” Gwen rolled their eyes, not intimidated in the slightest by whatever the dark-haired lady was trying to be mysterious about. That stoic air all changed in an instant, of course, by being called a child, however, “Hey! Who are you calling ‘children’? I’ve got just as much real-life experience as anyone here!”
elektra’s point has just been proven with that reaction and there was a part of her that was slightly jealous of her bright, spunky personality. whatever life experiences she had hadn’t made her bitter and cruel, unlike it had with elektra. she just hoped that it would remain that way for her. “high school drama doesn’t count as real-life experience but fine, if you wanna spar then let’s go. don’t think i’ll go easy on you just because you’re a kid.”
he made sure she was out of the way of the ice before giving a slight shrug, “it’s new york,” he stated, also signing as he spoke. he hadn’t meant for someone to start walking close by after he made his way over there. he hadn’t had time to clean it up.
"i forgot how much i hate the new york weather. it’s definitely not the french riviera.” she’s been hopping from one country to another, never staying long enough to see all four seasons in one single country. elektra’s forgotten how bitter and cold (and lonely) winters in the city can be. “thanks for the heads up. you definitely helped save an expensive pair of shoes. i suppose that’s what i get for wearing $500 shoes in new york though.”
“woah!” he called out, grabbing the person walking by him. “careful! ice!” he ushered them off the ice patch before looking at them. “sorry,” he said, moving his hands as he spoke that time.

elektra's on the phone, firing away in rapid french as she’s speaking to one of her property managers, and clearly distracted as she doesn’t hear the warning until her arm is being grabbed. her first instinct is to throw a punch until she realises they were trying to help her. “thanks.” she brushes her hair out of her face and hangs up the phone. her eyebrow quirks up as she looks around her, “i don’t remember the forecast predicting ice this week. isn’t it spring already?”
death : is there anything in your muse’s life that they should be letting go of ?
her father’s death, and blaming herself for it, as well as the events that transpired after it. she thinks about the fact that if she didn’t let the grief consume her in such an unhealthy way then maybe she wouldn’t have gone down the path that she did and could have been good.
the devil : is your muse addicted to any substances ? is there anything that could possibly make them quit ?
not a substance, but elektra’s somewhat addicted to violence. it’s something that’s been a part of her since she was young, from the moment that her mother was murdered on that yacht, and it’s the only thing that she knows she can rely on. it’s like her comfort blanket but she’s trying to wean herself from it to prove that she is more than a weapon, more than someone’s assassin.
❝ i must admit i’m a lil’rusty in your fancy parisian francias , ❞ remy replied, ❝ dey don’t teach us dat down in the bayou . ❞ a sly smirk grew on his face as he listened. remy knew full well she was correct, thinking back to the authentic original works of priceless art that lined of the guild’s hideout in new orleans. ❝ now dat’s just a silly theory , ❞ he said , waving a hand dismissively, ❝ dis one is real . van gogh’s brush strokes ain’t easy to replicate , especially in de swirls . ❞
she had to admit it had been a while since she had spoken much french herself, and even longer since she had practised any greek. the last time she had probably ever spoken any was the last time she saw her father on that day. “well, if you need someone to practise with you can always come find me.” she hums as she studies the painting carefully, “is that so? i’m afraid my tutors didn’t teach me that in art history. or maybe they did and i just stopped listening.” there’s something about what remy had just said that almost sounds like a challenge to elektra. she almost wants to steal the painting and replace it with a fake just to see how long it’ll take them to figure out it had been replaced with a replica.
“sorry, didn’t mean to sneak,” bart says, which is true—he couldn’t help his speed taking others by surprise. he’d once again been looking for something to do, another excuse to wear his suit. she just happened to be another vigilante he’d come across. and if she’d found something interesting, he wasn’t going to back off so easy. besides, it’s always more fun to beat up bad guys with someone at your side. “hey, i’ll have you know, i’m very capable of of cleaning up messes. you sure you don’t want any help with yours?”
she hesitates for a moment as she studies him, glancing up and down. elektra wasn’t one to work in teams and if she had learnt anything from her past mistakes, she knew she wasn’t the best leader. it was just easier for her to work alone (that way when people get hurt, she won’t have to spend all night blaming herself those mistakes). but she had a feeling he wasn’t going to back down just because she said no. “i am also very capable of cleaning up my own messes. isn’t it past your bedtime or something?” he looks young but elektra knows that she was far more capable than most when she was probably younger than he is. “if you must stay, just don’t blow our cover, and if you get hurt, that’s on you.”
“I dare you to try to make me cry. Bet you can’t,” Gwen’s eyes were already open like saucers, staring down their opponent like they were actually about to fight, “No sweat, I’m like a rock, baby.”
@reshieldedstart
"darling, you don’t want to test me. i’ve made much bigger men cry for their mothers as they wish for a faster, less painful death.” elektra’s not proud of what she’s done in the past but she knows she can’t change it. her hands will forever be stained red and no amount of praying for forgiveness can cleanse them. “but lucky for you, children aren’t on my list of people to hurt.”
"so you’re the new captain, huh? i have to say, you look even better in person.” elektra’s deflecting, trying to avoid the subject of the actual reason she’s sat across from sam. it feels so sterile, so unnatural for her to unload her emotions on a stranger that she had met a handful of times. even if she could, she wouldn’t even know where to start or how much she could actually detail and still have him be able to look her straight in the eyes without a speck of horror. some days she can’t even bear to look at her own reflection without seeing erynys or herself as anything but the puppet for the hand. it’s hard for elektra to remember who is truly is, before all this, before she was filled with such hatred that consumed every innocence that she had ever had. but there had been someone who had once believed she could be good before and maybe that still was true.
“Goooooooood evening New York!” he calls, as he stretches, atop one of the thousands of buildings that sprawl across the city, letting his arms swing down, taking it all in. Another day, another chance to scout for opportunities to endear himself to future employers- by proving he can kick ass and take names.
[Think it’ll be bank robbers? Or maybe even supervillians?!] Yellow proclaims from one corner of his head.
[At this hour? Probably more like purse snatchers and creeps] White offers, from the other.
“Does it matter as long as we catch them before another hero does?” Wade points out. “It’s either that or sit on our asses at home, and that doesn’t pay the bills, so might as well get to work!” Talking to himself is second nature at this point- despite how it must look from the outside. “So. East or West first?”
@reshieldedstart
elektra hears the voice before she sees him. how can she not? it disturbs her silence on the rooftop as she watches the city zooming by below, waiting for something interesting to happen. was this what it felt like to be one of the good guys? just sitting and waiting to bust someone for some crime. she had never sat still in one place for very long; moving from place to place, following wherever her job took her. she looks up from her post to the source of the voice, “you talk too much.” it didn’t seem as though her hint was enough and she sighs as she wonders why she had to choose this particular rooftop today. “how about going up north instead?”
cassandra hadn’t put too much thought into picking a gym—as long as it was quiet and had the equipment she liked, it would do just fine. there was enough crime in new york for them to practice their skills while cleaning up the streets. now she’s starting to regret not finding somewhere with better security as she comes back from her workout to find someone going through her locker.
“that’s mine,” they say, not bothering with politeness as they push the other away. “why are you taking my stuff?”
elektra probably could afford a gym better than this one that she picked but they all seemed to lack some character and filled with old, rich men who liked to ogle and underestimate her abilities. while she did enjoy kicking their asses, she had no patience for that today and just wanted to work her frustrations out. “darling, why would i want any of your stuff? i just need a locker,” she replies nonchalantly as she throws their bag down by their feet and puts her stuff in the locker that was previously occupied. elektra glances up as she’s in the middle of wrapping her hands for her sparring session, still feeling the other person’s presence, “you should really invest in a better lock.”
art museums: the city was full of them. to any scoundrel, the walls of the museum of modern art were practically screaming for a heist… gambit was no exception. ❝ the starry night … magnifique , ❞ he mused, turning his head to the person beside him, ❝ i used t’teach art history … y’really can’t appreciate it until y’right up close . ❞ he leaned in closer to the famous painting, dangerously close to setting off the silent alarm.
"c'est plutôt paisible (transl: it’s rather peaceful),” elektra muses, slipping into french that glides off her tongue, as she takes in the painting. “some would say it’s overrated. i find it rather peaceful.” there’s something about the painting that resonates with her and almost reminds her of nights she’s spent on rooftops alone, watching the stars as the night goes by. “i’ve heard it’s estimated that half of the world’s art are fakes. makes you wonder, doesn’t it?” her mouth quirks up as she watches how close the person next to her was getting to the painting. she’s in no position to judge, and no one was really getting harmed.
the night's quiet as elektra’s perched on the roof of a building, carefully watching the group of men below, finding the right moment to attack. she stiffens at the sound of movement nearby and spins around, sais in her hand, ready to pounce. “didn’t you know it’s rude to sneak up on a lady?” he looked like he was just a kid, and he definitely had no business sticking his nose where it shouldn’t belong. she wasn’t going to let this kid blow her cover and she certainly wasn’t going to be his babysitter. “ leave, before things get messy.”
THIS WHOLE NEW WORLD THING WAS GOING UNDER harder than one of falcone’s guys with a brick tied around his ankle in the gotham river . harley surveys the bright city lights , the air that somehow seems cleaner and decides that maybe it ain’t all too bad . she’s got a cute apartment , her bat made the trip with her ( not that one - although , she swears she’d seen the scowling cowl lurking about ) and she’s … adjusting . also , panicking a bit . the blonde tugs on the edge of one of her pigtails , waving her hand to catch their attention . “ hey , you ! “ she calls , jogging over before they can make a run for it . “ have ya seen a cat about yay high ? “ she pauses to gesticulate around her hip . “ i’ll give ya a hint , she has a lot of teeth and she ain’t very friendly so i’d appreciate any tips . “ @reshieldedstart
being back in new york city felt peculiar to elektra; the city looked different to what she remembered but it still felt the same to her, she still felt the demons and shadows that she had tried running from but something always brought her back one way or another. this was her destiny and if elektra had learnt anything, you cannot run from destiny. she hears someone calling for her attention and she nearly carries on minding her own business, it’s probably just another crazy new yorker but then she wonders what if that person was in real trouble. “a cat?” she repeats, drawling out the words, “that sounds more like a mountain lion that a cat. have you tried the bronx zoo?”
