The fandom community as a whole needs to stop accepting real life fanfiction and understand how sick it is. Imagine waking up one day and having 70,000 stories where people have written non consensual pornography using your name.

It needs to be taken off archiveofourown.

Saying that it’s not about the person, that it’s a fictional character with the same name is disgustingly dehumanizing. It is so many people’s worst fear to wake up one day and find out that someone who hates you has used AI to mimic your voice and image in revenge pornography. Because that’s what it is, revenge pornography. Once someone reaches celebrity status, it suddenly becomes flattering?

Liam Payne is dead. And I’m sure that so many people are going to “honor” his memory by writing more non consensual pornography about him.

I’m not going to sit here and claim that this caused his death, there are so many reasons and this was probably at the bottom of the list. But it’s fucking sick. It’s been sick since it started and it is still sick.

These are not fictional characters. Claiming that you’re writing stories about a fictional version of a human does not change the fact that you are writing about an actual human being and claiming that you’re not. It’s sick.

It’s excuses after excuses. Your disassociation from reality does not change the reality.
