Press for my solo show Key to the Kuffs at last Sunday’s Kathimerini newspaper. 24 hours in my life.
Eleftheria Tseliou gallery is happy to present David Sampethai's solo show. The show opens on Wednesday, June 14 and will be on display till the 30th of September 2017. In his new solo show titled Key To The Kuffs, David Sampethai presents a series of 64 small diptych paintings and a large painting made with watercolors and gouache. The key has a dual meaning, that of the guard that locks with it and that of the guarding angel who uses it to unlock and set free. This duality emerges in Sampethai’s new work. With ever- present black humor and a mysterious associative atmosphere, the works create a feeling of calm before the storm and of repressed energy that needs to be let out. The title of the exhibition is borrowed from American rapper MF DOOM’s album by the same name, him being known for his associative lyrics and his use of non-linear narrative techniques. Opening: Wednesday, June 14 / 20.00 - 22.30 Duration: till September 30, 2017 Working hours: Tuesaday - Friday 12.00 - 20.00 Saturday: 12.00 - 15.00
For August only visit by appointment [email protected]

Original Mercury 7 astronaut Gordon Cooper was supposed to be looking for nuclear launch sites on his record-breaking Faith 7 flight in 1963. He did his duty over the course of those 22 revolutions around the earth, clicking away on a camera that kept getting loose in zero gravity, barely…
