Happiness is here! 11.29.17
We got married on November 29. Our best friends and my brother were our witnesses 😳😍
I haven't posted on here in a long long time...so long that I got a couple of important news...like I have a fiance and we are getting ready to be officially married at the end of the month. It's been a hell of a year ,full of ups and downs yet we have been loving each other more and more everyday regardless of the obstacles life throws at us. I can't wait to see what life has stored for our little hearts 💜😊💙
It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.

Lady Godiva - John Collier - 1898 - via Wikimedia
According to legend, Lady Godiva was married to a greedy land baron who had imposed oppressive taxes on the townspeople. She pleaded with him to repeal the taxes, urging him to consider the suffering they had caused. He eventually agreed, but only if she first rode naked through the town. Still hoping to end her husband’s draconian regime, she accepted his condition and prepared for her ride of shame. Before her ride, she asked the townspeople to stay indoors, and almost everyone respected her request not to watch the spectacle. One man, the also legendary “Peeping Tom,” drilled a hole in his shutters so that he could watch surreptitiously, but he paid a price for his voyeurism and was struck blind. Lady Godiva and the other townspeople got a happy ending though, as her husband finally repealed the taxes after her nude horse ride. And whether for her compassion or for her salaciousness, Lady Godiva has been immortalized in myth and art (and chocolate). With that backstory, please enjoy John Collier’s 1897 tribute to the Lady.
