Through the Circle || Outlander Au | Audrey & Merida

The stay in the Scottish countryside had been peaceful, but not what Audrey was looking for. Ever since she'd returned from Atlantis, she'd learned that she could easily visit through an ability that had been discovered by Milo's studies. The crystals created portals in any body of water and so far, she'd been taking advantage of it. It seemed to be one of the only advantages. Since then, Audrey had stopped aging and her injuries had been healing all on their own.
One would think that it'd be a good thing. But almost a decade since the expedition and she was tired of looking at her nineteen year old face. Audrey could tell that her family was starting to notice. Traveling seemed the best alternative, but she didn't want to go back to Atlantis. It was too bizarre knowing that time seemed to pass so very quickly, sometimes she'd be there a month and it'd feel like only a day or two had passed. So she had started going about the world, sometimes traveling traditionally just to draw it out, to make time move slower.
The endearing bed and breakfast she'd ended up at had suggested her taking a walk through town to the lake. And since then, she'd decided she was not meant to travel without some kind of mechanical steed. With a stitch in her side, Audrey not sat panting on the side of a hill unable to enjoy the view because of the way she was cursing under her breath at the crystal being able to heal little scrapes but not keep her in shape.
As she complained, Audrey paused mid Spanish-English mixed rant as she noticed a faint blue light out of the corner of her eye. "What the––" Dragging herself to her feet, she squinted towards it.
It looked almost like some of the spirits her grandmother had told her tales of, ones that didn't actually live on the other hemisphere, ones she'd only heard of. "Are you a ghost?" She asked softly, curiously reaching out to touch it. Almost instantly it disappeared, but then reappeared a little ways away. Unable to keep from following it, Audrey suddenly found herself deeper into the woods and across a clearing.
It looked a lot like Stonehenge, or the stones that now floated above the city of Atlantis. Reaching out, she drug her fingertips over the cool stones.
