Pete the Dick
I am developing a character for a story I am in the process of publishing. An editor suggested the addition in lew of the project being terminated. The character's name is Pete R. Fitzwell, Private Investogator. He is a womanizer and a drunk. Possiblly a carrier of Hepetitis C or B, whichever is worse. The adaptation of the character to the story is in its final phase but it lacks the even the slightest bit of content that could be mistaken as interesting. The dialogue has absolutely nothing to do with the direction of the story or with any logical thought at all for the most part. An uninteresting twist so to speak. It does have a really predictable plot and climax. I was also told it lacks the elements that are usually necessary to keep a reader or audience turning the page. Even with the addition of Pete, the gay Private Dick hired to investigate and penetrate boundaries the main character is limited to, the plot gains no momentum and lacks seemingly more substance than before. But I feel confident it will sell and plan to make no further revisions.
