We're just two "normal" crazy guys who live and love together in PA. With big hearts and loving families, we know that we could give a kid an amazing home and a family that is filled with love! Another day...

Well, another day has passed and we have got to get movin' on this tumblr if we're hoping to have any luck getting the word out that we're willing to adopt a child!  If you know anybody who is pregnant and is hoping to find a really great, loving family, please send them our way!  We're completely willing to respect the wishes of any birth mother in regards to whether or not they'd like to stay in touch, see pictures, be a part of the child's life, etc.  Keep us in mind as you tumbl!  :-)  ~G&T

In my absence from tumblr, I became a mother, and I placed my son up for adoption. This choice gives me no sadness, only joy, because I have blessed two people’s lives with the chance to be parents. The couple I chose for my son happens to be gay.

The moment they saw Ian, they both burst in to tears. "Would you like to hold him?" I asked. (He was born premature, with clefts in his brain, so he remained in Infant Special Care until he was four weeks, hence our lovely yellow gowns.) Both John and Doug couldn’t stop staring at him, thanking me, telling me how gorgeous he was.

I spent my nights in the hospital holding Ian and staring at him, completely in wonder at how much he looked like his dad, and trying to decide what the right decision for him was. I had never felt so much love for something in my entire life. In my heart, I knew I was not yet a parent—I hardly know who I am as person—and after hours of silent tears and rocking him back and forth in my arms, I made the choice to give him the family that he deserves, and one that is capable to, not only take care of him, but give him opportunities I could not, even if I had all of the money in the world. 

Some will criticize my choice to place my son with a gay couple, but I believe they not only deserve the chance to be parents, but that they will be two of the best parents in the entire universe.

John and Doug email me weekly, with pictures and medical updates. I am allowed to visit any chance I can get (we, unfortunately, are 2000 miles apart), and they have completely made me a part of their family. My son will always know I am his mother, his mhibu (a word loosely translating to “dear one” in Swahili).

When people hear my story, the first thing they tell me is how “strong” I am, and how “hard” it must have been. My reply will always be the same: I am just a mother who loves her son very, very much.

We are hoping to find such a loving person!  We don't know this woman and haven't adopted our own child yet, but we'd have to say THANK YOU to this woman for what she has done!  What a great story!

We're two "wanna-be" dads...

So, after having our fill of international adoption and having already spent thousands of dollars to be back at square one, we have decided to turn to social media to help the two of us find a brave woman who knows that there is better life out there than what she may be able to provide for the child that she is carrying.  

We are two fun-loving guys who have great, accepting families that would help us provide a child with a wonderful circle of support as he or she grows up.  We also both happen to be educators.  We hear people say, every day, that a child shouldn't have two daddies or two mommies, but even in the excellent, suburban school that I work at, we see children in our care who are missing out on the love of good parents.  We know that we can provide a great home and a great childhood for a child.  We have dreams of a screaming child keeping us up at night, diapers that need to be changed, cuts and bruises that need cared for, tough conversations when our son or daughter experiences pain and heartbreak, and of course we have great visions of snuggle time (that our dog currently gets!), PTO meetings, play dates with cousins and friends, graduations, and (because one of us is a total band nerd) concerts among the many other great experiences that a child brings to their parents.  Visions of teaching our child how to figure things out on his or her own for the first time and helping a little human grow into somebody who loves and succeeds keep us pushing forward in the adoption process despite the many setbacks.

Photos Of Gay Dads And Their Beautiful Family Cause An Instagram Meltdown

Originally from an article found on Queerty, the story of gay parents Kaleb and Kordale is well worth a mention on Tumblr too. Their modern day family photo album paints a fun, responsible and loving portrait of 21st century parenting and has since gone viral, after they started posting on the photo blogging site four months ago. 

The response has been mixed on Twitter, apparently, with some folks up in arms about the photos not only depicting two men bringing up children, but two black men bringing up children. *facepalms self* Really? I mean: REALLY? If wider society could look beyond the gender, beyond the skin colour and beyond the unrelenting obsession with what two consenting adults do in the bedroom, they’d see that these are simply two people bringing up three children to the best of their ability. Personally, I think the photos and the family are beautiful. And it’s refreshing to see men getting stuck in with childcare duties, period. Countless million others could learn a thing or two from these guys.
