• Before I start talking about everything id like to specify my oc has no relation to LH or other Venezuela ocs, he's just my dude I made.

Name: Manuel Sulbaran Díaz, also known as Lolo to friends and fellow nations or Toto by his uncles !

Country that he represents: Venezuela 🇻🇪

Birthday: 13th of July ♋

Height: 171 cm - 5'6 feet

Family -> Siblings: Colombia, Ecuador and Panamá, Uncle: Kariña, Aunt: cumanagoto.

What Im into: Spotting bird nests and bird watching and reading books about ornithology- I like anything to do with birds!

(I'd add, he's also quite good at math thanks to his uncle and hes the most passionate nation about baseball connected to the mainland)

I want to challenge myself to: Make more hallacas than Colombia, Ecuador and Panamá combined to win our yearly hallaca-making-competition~☆

• is how most people would describe Lolo, this proud nation is very passionate about what he believes in and this passion can be seen in all aspects of his life, both good and bad- however regardless of the situation he's in you'll find him keeping his head held high and more than willing to lend you a hand. ⁠☆✷☆

• Lolo can be a " little " dramatic and he's quite open about his emotions, proudly wearing his heart on his sleeve which is good given how fast his mood can shift in a matter of minutes. Wether he's shining like the sun on the Caribbean or quiet like the mountains of the Andes, you'll know why! The first step to having a conversation is being clear about your feelings after all, and who wouldn't want that? Ironically sometimes it's exatcly because of this unfiltered honesty that people believe he's lying.

• Even tho him and his nation have changed a lot over the years at his core he remains the same rebellious little kid he once was

• He's quite extroverted and loves making new friends (unlike what his government would make you believe ^^'') one of his favourite ways to show his affection is by making other nation's cultural dishes, often adding his own spin to them to make them more personal. The more at the table the merrier !!!!

• he actually likes hanging out with his family quite a lot ! :D Often trying to make time to hangout with all his loved ones and trying to keep his promises (even if sometimes he can't)

• He feels very connected to the Caribbean and the Andes and the Llanos and the Amazonian regions in his country, please don't ask with region he prefers cause the choice is too hard !!

• "If it didn't kill me I get to joke about it" taken maybe a bit too literally

• the loose curl is a physical manifestation of the Salto Ángel

• the neck piece on his liqui liqui is a symbol of peace

• the flower Is the orchid commonly known as "venezuelan orchid" and it's the national flower !

• he has 3 bracelets two of which are tightly tied to our indigenous heritage

• the second outfit is just him being comfy haha

• Some extra funfacts ~ ⁠☆

• the nickname toto came to be because the Kariña language has no L sound ! So his uncle's started referring to him as that- and then others changed it to Lolo

• Lolo isn't very good at speaking Kariña but Yavire (his uncle and personification of the Kariña people) took great care in teaching him maths- which was later incredibly useful when he had to enroll in university later on ^^ Because of that he still counts in his uncle's language

• even tho physically he's 21 the concept of Venezuela is roughly 500 years old.

• besides his uncle he's the tallest in his family :D

• the last name Díaz Is shared with Colombia, Ecuador and Panamá. Sometimes he may use Coromoto as a middle name

• He was not born in Caracas rather most likely somewhere in Guárico near Anzoátegui- heart of Venezuela and all that

• part of why he likes casabe so much is because it reminds him of his childhood with his uncle and aunt

I have so much more to say but I'm really bad at words, I hope this is enough !

What kills me the most and fills me with bitterness is that this is the first time I have seen the Venezuela tag trending here on Tumblr; this is the first time I have seen so many people in my dash and on other social media talking about Venezuela, so many people learning about my country for the first time.

And I can't help but think, "Where were you when we needed you?" Where were the people denouncing the invasion when they stole the elections? When they kidnapped and killed so many students and civilians? When they made the Helicoide one of the biggest torture center on the continent? When they turned away and burned humanitarian aid while we were suffering from starvation? When the Venezuelan migration crisis became the biggest one in the history of Latinoamerica, with 9 million people fleeing the country (yes, almost 1/3 of the population and a bigger refugee crisis than some countries in active wars)?

And there is so much paternalism and patronizing speech. So many try to explain our history and actual situation to us, like we didn't spend high school doing presentations about Carlos Andrés Pérez's economic policies and doing reports about what Mr Danger symbolized in Doña Bárbara. Like we didn't watched tv reports with economists warning about how the bonanza petrolera was going to end. Like we don't have to deal with stuff like BCV and CLAP and whatever other fuckass acronym there is.

So many say, "Your situation sucks, but it didn't have to be this way." And they are right! It shouldn't have been this way! We didn't want it to be this way! Who the fucks wants their city to be bombed and to be in fear of becoming collateral damage? There were several stops before this one, and we tried every avenue available to us.

However, over the years I had witnessed how a big part of the international community, activists, and politicians had ignored, downplayed, or even benefited from the situation created by the chavista corruption and tyranny. There should have been more outcry, more public condemnation of their crimes against humanity, more diplomatic pressure to restore democracy.

But that didn't happen. Al malandro lo tuvo que venir a sacar un malandro aún más grande.

And today we drink and cheer, but we know the big bill is coming later, we are not naive. We don't even know if Delcy, Diosdado, and other officials will face justice, or what will happen tomorrow.

And in all of this, with how outsider people talk about it... how this will fuck the rest of the geopolitical balance, how "we should solve our own problems", how peace and sovereignty laws are supreme on the international stage. I can't help but dwell on really dark and bitter thoughts I know are not right:

Were our lives always this expendable to others? Were we the sacrificial goats to maintain an illusion of peace and prosperity in Latinoamerica? Why does oppression look like peace to those who are not under it? Do Ukrainians, Palestinians, Iranians, and so many others living through displacement and violence feel the weight of this erasure too?

Not sure how to close this rant. I guess, if you have read so far and want something to take away... try to listen and lift our voices, understand where we are coming from, and support us in whatever is there to come. Campism is a poison you should not fall into. Sometimes the world is much more complicated and vast than you are able to conceptualize. People often don’t realize how true desperation reshapes judgment until they’re forced to live it. Maybe there are lessons to be learned.

Anyways, fuck Maduro, fuck Trump. Gonna print that beautiful picture of 4F burning and will hang it somewhere.

January 4th of 2026, Venezuela.

Report:

The official reports from the current emergency Venezuelan government are out and they're not counting the majority of the victims, both hurt and dead.

An association of medics here in Venezuela says that they're around 90 people hurt, with more victims we don't know about. The New York Times reports 40 people dead. The official report from the Venezuelan government only counts 25 people dead, with most of them being soldiers.

It's been confirmed that they killed all soldiers protecting Maduro, along with some of the soldiers in the ports, airports and military bases they hit in their air strikes.

Some of the civilians reported dead by either the government or media outlets are two people on a car hit by a missile near one of the airports (need to double check but I think it's Higuerote airport), one woman whose home was hit near one of the antennas the air strike destroyed (known as El Volcán).

According to Donald Trump, they only went for strategic targets in the first wave of air strike attacks, which included around 150 aircraft that opened the way for 10 helicopters. Those attacks left some parts of Caracas without electricity for around two days. In Venezuela tap water is not potable, so people are reporting trouble finding water bottles to buy since most supplies ran over after the initial attack.

In December 2025 the US threatened Venezuela airspace, so most international airlines decided to cancel their flights. On January 4th 2026, Trump announced that airplanes are able to go on as usual again. He effectively kidnapped the country for around a month, until he could take control of Venezuela.

Tomorrow, January 5th 2026, the vice-president Delcy Rodríguez will become president and will declare the next steps. The citizens have been ordered to carry their lives as usual, to not panic. Depending on what Rodriguez says tomorrow, Donald Trump can order a second wave of attacks on Venezuela. He has said that the second wave was already planned and it will be worse.

It's been said that authorities have driven trucks full of guns to several hoods, arming the civilians for the upcoming days. The military, the militias and the civilians have been ordered to follow new orders to defend the country and guarantee the "peace" among the panic.

People are in what can only be called shock. The reality across the country is vastly different. The attack focused on Caracas, Aragua, Miranda and La Guaira, fourth states at the north center of the country.

That's my report for now.

Ayer a las 1:50 de la madrugada el Distrito capital, Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Nueva Esparta fueron bombardeadas por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos por el equipo de los Delta Forces.

cuando empezó nadie sabía que hacer o que iba a pasar entonces muchos venezolanos simplemente empezaron a postear videos y fotos, contactar sus familiares en Caracas y, para no entrar en el pánico, publicaron varios memes como solemos hacer, aquí les dejo algunas capturas de mi twt desde las 2:00 hasta las 5:00 más o menos

(obviamente el huso horario en los screenshots es diferente al de Venezuela pq me encuentro afuera del país justamente por culpa de esta dictadura pero por referencia las 7=1 de la madrugada) 👇

No tardamos mucho a darnos cuenta que los lugares bombardeados no eran random si no áreas estratégicas usadas por la dictadura chavista para oprimir a los venezolanos. Las áreas bombardeadas fueron las siguientes:

• El Valle, Los Próceres, La Pastora, 23 de Enero, La Carlota (Caracas), Higuerote (Miranda), Maracay (Aragua) y también bases en isla Margarita (Nueva Esparta)

la mayoría bases militares o aeropuertos privados

Una de las highlights para los venezolanos durante este ataque (y tuvimos varias) fue cuando la tumba de Chávez fue atacada

obviamente les tengo que hacer ver las fotos, un edit que se volvió viral y las opiniones de los venezolanos 👇

La venezolanos, que aún tenían miedo pero ya habían entendido que y quien estaban atacando los gringos, empezaron a sentir una esperanza que no sentíamos desde hace tiempo,

queríamos saber si iban a sacar (o matar) a Maduro, y por eso muchos de nosotros adentro y afuera del país nos quedamos despiertos esperando.

Salió un comunicado oficial del gobierno chavista y la gente se RIÓ 👇

Y finalmente entre las 4 y las 5 salió el anuncio que habían capturado a Maduro y que lo sacarían de Venezuela

y así fue. Hoy tenemos fotos y vídeos de el en NY (y también su esposa, Cilia Flores, está con el)

Maduro cayó. Y los venezolanos después de 26 años de este infiero pudimos celebrar por la primar vez una buena noticia sobre nuestro país.

Claro la gente aún no sabe que hacer (sobretodo los que siguen en el país) y aun tienen que meter presos a los demás chavitas en el gobierno pero finalmente pasó algo.

Yo nací debajo del régimen chavista sin poder conocer la Venezuela de mi madre, no pude vivir en mi país y no he podido ni visitar desde que tenía 8 años, crecí sabiendo que el mundo nos había abandonado y que nadie nos quería, ví a mi mamá sufrir por años sin su familia, afuera de su país toda sola y tuve que pasar casi toda mi vida sin la mayoría de mi familia. Pensé toda mi vida que no iba a poder ver mi Venezuela otra vez y por eso empecé este blog para no olvidarme de lo poco que me quedaba.

Pero hoy aunque aún estemos en un momento crítico puedo decir que logré ver con mis propios ojos a Chávez morirse (otra vez) y a Maduro en la cárcel.

Sé muy bien que nadie entenderá que significa esto para nosotros y que todos creen que nos estamos inventando cosas para quedar bien o algo pero ya no me importa de lo que piense gente no venezolana, lo único que me importa es que nosotros estemos bien.

Ojalá saquen a los demás criminales que siguen alli y que Trump no se aproveche demasiado de la situación, Ojalá todo vaya bien y que logremos volver a ser un país rico, Ojalá podernos reunirnos todos pronto, Amén.

i have a lot of mixed feelings on usavene lowkey I feel like sometimes people make Venezuela too dependent on the USA and I feel like other times they make us a monster bc of how the USA paints us. So whenever I touch on this 2 I feel many conflicting feelings, however, I have done some soul searching (touching grass) and looked back on how srsly I take this fandom and realized yk what 🤔 it's not that srs.
