Primahood: Magenta
Storytelling Across Media Symposium, San Francisco
Hi Friends!
Saturday I will be participating in two panels at the Storytelling Across Media Symposium (Free!)
12:00–12:45 Diversity and Representation in Storytelling—Shawn Taylor (Nerds of Color) moderates an honest discussion about diversity and representation in comics with Robert Love (Number 13), Tyler Cohen (Primahood: Magenta), and Daniel Parada (Zotz). Presented by the Cartoon Art Museum and the Black Comix Arts Festival. Foothill G
5:00–5:45 Storytelling and Queer Identity—Moderator Maia Kobabe (The Thief’s Tale) and a panel of talented queer storytellers discuss their craft and how they bring life to their characters on the comics page. Storytelling plays a role in shaping both the identity of the storyteller and the characters on the page. This panel explores how queer cartoonists navigate this space. Foothill G

Hello friends!
Primahood: Magenta is now a "Project We Like" on Kickstarter! If you haven't had a chance to preorder, now is a great time. Broke, but want to support the book in other ways? Please help spread the word. Much Love!
“At the crossroads of real life and strange imaginings you will find Primahood: Magenta!
For several years, cartoonist Tyler Cohen has developed her special blend of autobiography and surrealism in her independently produced comic book, Primazonia. In this series she combines her personal challenges as a bisexual woman who strives to bring up her daughter free from restrictive gender roles. These comics also feature the milieu of the otherworldly Primazons and their evocation of the female experience, by turns symbolic and concrete. The result is a comic filled with keen social observations, touching moments, and warm humor rendered in a warm, finely observed art style.”
