starter for @slccplessniights (rhett&benji)
Rhett already hated every second of this trip. He was still pretty unsure of why Benji had even agreed to this madness. Still, everyone seemed to buy it. Not that Remington or Mackenzie had even stopped to ask him how he was, too busy talking about themselves. Emerson had sniffed him out than less than a second, having known his ex had just broken up with him. He’d explain it later. For now... they had a different issue.
“Uh, I can sleep on the couch?” Rhett offered lamely, glaring at the one double bed in the middle of the room. At least there was a couch, sleeping on the floor would suck, more than this week already would. His phone buzzed, and he saw he had a text from his brother, his nose turning up in disgust. “Anyway, I think it’s about time we went to the bar because I am going to need at least seven drinks in me before I talk to anyone else in this insane family of mine.”

Go on a date, she said, it’ll be fun, she said. God, Rissa was seriously going to have words with her best friend. After yet another failed tinder date, Sophia had practically coerced her into going on a blind date with her coworker. He’s just your type, she had said.
Well she got that right. Rissa’s teeth tugged on her lower lip as she made her way over to the table, sitting across from the boy she once dated. It was just her luck to be set up on a blind date with her ex boyfriend. “Well isn’t this an interesting turn of events,” Rissa muttered, a tight smile gracing her lips as she flagged down the waiter. She was going to need a glass of wine -- or the bottle. “Luke, it’s been a while.”
starter for @slccplessniights (logan&asher)
Logan’s teeth tugged on his lower lip, feet tapping nervously against the wooden floor as he stood just before the door to his room. He didn’t want to be alone, flinching every time the thunder clapped, but only Asher was left in the house and well - Asher was an idiot. He was tempted to turn back, crawl under his covers but he’d done that for the past hour already, the heavy rhythm of ACDC blaring through his earphones barely a comfort.
“Screw it,” He muttered under his breath, wrenching his door open before making his way down the hall to Asher’s. His hands trembled as he knocked on the wood three times, before opening the door anyway - really hoping the other was decent. “I-” His words faltered, catching in his throat, Asher was going to think this was so stupid, this was a terrible idea. “Can I stay in your room? You don’t have to talk to me or whatever, I just-” A loud clap of thunder interrupted him, and he visibly jolted at the sound. “I don’t want to be alone.” He finished lamely, wringing his hands together.

Can rolled his eyes as he hung up on his sister, leaning against his car. He wasn’t entirely thrilled that his sister was making him drive her best friend all the way to the venue since her boyfriend couldn’t. Still, he owed Alara and she had been sure to remind him of that, repeatedly.
His breath caught in his throat as she left her building, heading towards him. She still looked as good as the day he’d left her, something he’d regretted, but he hadn’t exactly been given a choice. “You’re late,” He spoke coolly, turning away from her and slipping into the drivers seat. This was going to be a very, very long drive. He knew he had no right to be pissed at her, but he couldn’t help but be annoyed at the situation.

As much as Richie loved being on tour, going a bunch of different places and interacting with all the fans, expanding their fan base. It was thrilling in an entirely different way than how it was when they did their local gigs. He was just as happy to be home and in his own space.
What Rich was even more excited about was seeing Emrys again. It was no secret that the guitar player had a crush on him, the way he tripped over himself to talk to the guy. He was practically buzzing with excited and nervous energy as he waited for him to come over.
He practically jumped up off of the couch when there was a knock on the door. “Later, Bells!” he called after the girl as she left.
“Emrys!” Richie replied with a bright smile of his own, laughing and finger gunning back as he made his way over to the other and dragged him in for a hug. “You kidding, man?” he asked, shaking his head and clapping him on the back. “Like crazy, get in here!” he told him.
Emrys usually took pride in his ability to flirt and generally be fairly smooth, except, around Richie... it never seemed to work. As the other pulled him into a hug, he could feel his cheeks heat up. He could also practically hear Winnie scolding him into asking the other out after he’d spent the entire week whining about the other’s absence.
“Good, I’d hate to think you’d replaced me,” He half joked with a wink, before very hesitantly pulling back. “Also, you’re never allowed to leave me for that long again. I think I drove poor Wins insane.” With a sheepish grin, Emrys went to where he knew the other stashed his drink. “Time to celebrate?” He asked, lifting the bottle he’d brought the last time he’d hung out at the other’s apartment.

“You realize it doesn’t matter and it’s still my job, right?” Nate countered, giving her a look and raising his brows at her. It was plain that the young woman was used to getting whatever she wanted, but his job was to make sure she was safe, and that’s what he intended on doing. “Well then I suggest blaming her then,” he told her with a simple shrug of his shoulders. He looked down at her as she stepped closer, already suspicious of whatever she was trying to pull with her little dramatics this time. She was giving in way too easily, this was definitely not going to go that way, he could feel it. “It’s agent Summers,” he corrected when the woman called him handsome, though he was glad that she was going to be changing. It was his job to watch her, but he couldn’t help that it was somewhat distracting when the girl was in such a tiny skirt. He was still a red blooded American man, and he wasn’t blind. He knew the girl was gorgeous, even if she was off limits. “If you take too long, I’m coming in!” he warned her, hoping she wouldn’t get any funny ideas.
“Well your job sucks,” Lorena scoffed. Yeah, definitely had more backbone than half of her previous bodyguards, but that just intrigued her even more. At his comment, she pulled a face and rolled her eyes, “Have you ever been spontaneous for like a single second of your life, Muscles?” She asked, arching one brow. Agent Summers. Interesting. As annoying as he was, he was certainly intriguing and she hoped he got to stick around. Given her track record she wasn’t entirely sure he would, though. “Well, that’s boring, so I’ll stick to whatever nickname I feel suits. I’m definitely thinking pretty boy.”
As she slipped into the bathroom, with no clothes to change into, she heard him call out, a smirk spreading across her features. “You know,” She called back, opening the bathroom window, “If you wanted to see me naked, Summers, all you had to do was ask.” Hopefully that would buy her enough time to ditch him, she hoped, clambering out of the window. Thank god her room wasn’t that far from the ground floor and a very convenient tree.
However, the second she was out of the window she saw him. “Oh for fucks sake, seriously?” Of course they’d given her a guard with an actual braincell this time. “You enjoying the view from down there?” She scoffed, huffing.

Archer had spent most of the night in his room, just playing video games or fucking around on his phone. He hadn’t even been looking for anything or anyone when he found himself on Tinder, aimlessly swiping left and right on each person and only paying half of his attention on it. He froze when a familiar grin showed up on his screen, brows going up at the sight of one Sawyer McFarland. He had noticed that Sawyer had gotten hotter a while ago, grown up from the kid that he’d been used to seeing around the house with his brother, but never actually stopped to take a look at the guy, always just lumping him along with Casey.
Now that he was looking and swiping through the pictures on his profile, though… Archer couldn’t stop himself from swiping right on him. He tossed the phone aside without much of a though afterwards, going back to his game.
It wasn’t until he climbed into bed and put a movie on that he picked up his phone again and ended back up on the app out of pure boredom. He wasn’t too surprised when he saw new matches. He wasn’t a douchebag about it, but he knew he was an attractive guy and he knew exactly how to sell himself online. Archer was surprised and very pleased to see that Sawyer had also swiped right, right back on him. Sure, it could have been a courtesy thing on the other’s part, but he still found himself sending the boy a text and inviting him over to his room from down the hall.
Archer couldn’t help but smirk when he heard the knock on the door, tossing his phone to the side and pushing himself up out of bed to go open the door. He chuckled at the other’s greeting and nodded, opening the door wider and stepping aside to let him. “Of course I was, cutie,” he replied, using a nickname he had called the other years ago before he’d properly learned Sawyer’s name. “Come on in,” he told him, nodding for him to come inside. “Oh trust me, I know. I always make him get his own room whenever we go on trips, sharing with him is nightmare, I don’t know how you do it,” Archer laughed.
Sawyer wasn’t really sure what he was expecting. He’d hung out with Archer before of course, he’d been friends with Casey for so long and given his own family circumstances, he was often crashing at the other’s.
He’d hesitated before leaving Casey’s room, not entirely sure what his best friend would say at the idea of him matching with the boy’s brother on tinder of all things. Should he have even swiped? Who was he kidding, Casey knew about his long time crush on the other and had been perfectly fine with it.
His heart was pounding as he waited for Archer to open the door, his eyes widening and an instant blush appearing on his cheeks as he noticed the other was shirtless. Shit. His eyes lingered on the other’s torso, before he realised he was speaking and his eyes instantly snapped back up to the other’s face, cheeks burning. Cutie. That nickname never failed to short circuit his brain. “I-uh,” He fumbled, before clearing his throat, “Yeah well, he’s not all too bad,” Sawyer joked with a grin, following the other inside, fingers playing with the hem of his shirt. “I feel like I’m overdressed,” He joked, before his eyes widened at his own words and holy shit, did he just say that out loud? A groan left his lips and he shook his head, “Uh, ignore the fact I just said that. So, what’s up? You can’t sleep either?”

Casey was curious. Naturally his best friend had stammered some excuse about not being able to sleep but not wanting to disturb him so he’d gone downstairs. Sawyer not being able to sleep was believable, but he was pretty sure he’d gone elsewhere. Not that he would ever get a straight answer from the other.
He sipped his iced coffee, legs swinging against the kitchen counter he was currently perched upon as he waited for his brother to enter the room. The moment he did, his face lit up into a grin. “If it isn’t my favourite brother,” Casey began, before frowning. “Wait you’re my only brother, scratch that. Anyway,” He sipped at his coffee again, before shooting the other a curious look. “How was your conversation with Sawyer the other night?” He mused, arching both his brows.

Sawyer huffed as he reached for his phone. His best friend was snoring besides him, and he couldn’t sleep. Without thinking, he opened Tinder. He’d been using the app for a week or so, not really having much luck but it was usually a cure for boredom. He scrolled aimlessly, mostly swiping left until a familiar face grinned up at him from the screen.
Sawyer almost dropped his phone, eyes widening as he stared at the picture. Archer Casablancas, also known as his best friends brother. He hesitated, before swiping right. He knew Archer, it was just out of principle. Totally wasn’t because he’d always lowkey had a crush on the guy.
Sawyer almost dropped his phone for a second time when a message flashed across the screen. Holy crap they’d matched. He’d not expected that, and his teeth tugged on his lower lip. His phone dinged, and a message popped up on screen.
STILL UP? COME HANG ;)
With a glance at his best friend, Sawyer swallowed. It wasn’t like he was sleeping anytime soon. He grabbed his phone, quietly slipping from the room and making his way down the hall. His knuckles rapped gently on the door, trying not to make too much noise. Sawyer briefly wondered if the other had been joking, and was about to turn away when the door opened. “I really hope you were serious about hanging, because Casey snores really loudly and I can’t sleep,” He grinned sheepishly, biting his lip again.

Freddie fought the urge to yawn as the pretty blonde next to him kept waxing on about... well, he wasn’t really sure what she was talking about if he was honest. He’d stopped paying attention to her about five minutes ago. His eyes fell to the empty cup in his hands and he decided that he was done with the party tonight, it was far too boring for his liking. Shooting her an apologetic smile, he set down the empty cup before disappearing into the crowds to find his best friend.
Micah had been his best friend for years, the two even following each other to college. They’d developed a sort of routine that whenever they were ready to leave, all they had to do was find each other. A grin appeared on his lips as he spotted the boy in question, before it faded as he noticed someone had his attention already, Freddie’s nose wrinkling upwards. Still, he made his way over to his best friend, tugging on his sleeve before nodding towards the door. “Please?” He murmured, pouting at the other.

While he was excited for his friends, Emrys was bored with them. Richie especially, but that was probably due to his giant crush on the other. Not that he’d ever admit it out loud.
This was why the second Richie had text him he was home, Emrys had instantly driven over. The other was probably tired, but it wasn’t like Emrys was actually going to make him do anything - he just craved the others company. His knuckles rapped against the door as he shuffled on his feet waiting for the other to open the door.
He wasn’t surprised to be greeted by Bells, who instantly scoffed in amusement before patting him on the cheek and walking out, calling goodbye to the both of them. Not that Em actually paid her much attention.
“Richie!!” His face lit up into a grin, shooting the other finger guns. “Did ya miss me?”

Nate couldn’t help the scoff that escaped him at her choice of endearment for him. “I may not be the boss of you, but it is my job to make sure you don’t go do somethin’ stupid or get yourself hurt,” he informed her with a shake of his head. “So, I guess that means that I can tell you what you can’t do,” he continued. The girl was attractive and she knew it, she was much too used to getting her way and maybe Nathan enjoyed saying no too much, but this was definitely not one of her best ideas. “Now, had you brought it up before, we might have been able to get a team in and cleared the place beforehand. I s’pose that means that this is kind of on you,” Nate told Lorena with a simple shrug of his shoulders. “It’ll have to be the night of rom coms. Sorry bout that, darlin’.” not appearing sorry at all.
“You realise I’m an adult right? I can take care of myself. I don’t need a babysitter.” Lore rolled her eyes. He might have been pretty, but he was certainly getting on her nerves. He clearly wasn’t budging as easily as her previous bodyguards had, either, which was probably why her father had chosen him. Fantastic. “Well that would have been great, if my friend had told me more than an hour ago,” She quipped, pulling a face at him. Yeah, he definitely wasn’t budging. Lorena guessed she’d just have to sneak out then. With a very dramatic sigh and a pout, Lore took a step closer to him. “Fine. You win. Why don’t you choose a movie Handsome, while I go and change into something more comfortable, since I don’t particularly want to watch a movie in a miniskirt, no matter how good I look in it.” Reaching on her tiptoes to pat him on the cheek, she went to turn away and leave the room - planning to just sneak out of the bathroom.

Adira’s pointer finger gently danced along the small scars on Corban’s skin, transfixed for a moment in a way she couldn’t quite explain. It wasn’t as if she hadn’t seen him shirtless before, but she’d never felt so comfortable looking. Despite the gentle gesture, his hand on her cheek couldn’t draw her attention back to his face. There were just so many of them, and she wondered what he would feel like if he saw her scars. Disgusted, most likely. “Sorry,” she murmured, though the sound was as distracted as she was. Her fingers traced a scar around his stomach, frowning a little more. “Where is this one from?”
“Don’t apologise,” Corban murmured, far more softly than he usually would. Something about the gesture made him feel so vulnerable, but for once, he didn’t hate it. “Uh, I went after a man that hurt my sister.” He admitted honestly, “He did rather a number on me because I wasn’t particularly in the right mindset.”

Before recently, Beck had always dreaded coming home to a roommate. It wasn’t anything against his roommates of the past, really - it was the idea that, even when he was coming home, he couldn’t fully relax. Because there was someone else there he still had to pretend with.
That wasn’t all gone with Isaac, there was still a bit of fear. A bit of anxiety that crept into his thoughts when he was vulnerable around him… but it sure wasn’t the same level of anxiety, especially not when the first thing Isaac did when he got home was lean in to kiss him. “Hey.” He repeated, meeting the other’s lips halfway. “Missed you too.” He said with a smile, but then blinked and glanced down as he felt Isaac’s cat starting to rub against his leg. “All this attention and I haven’t even put my bag down yet.” He joked, leaning up to peck Isaac’s lips again before starting to take off his jacket.
All the reservations he had about dating went away when he was with Beck, the fear of not being wanted soothed when the other admitted to missing him too. Something Alec had never done.
“Well can you blame us?” Isaac teased gently, before pouting at his cat. He loved Mittens, but the cat tended to steal his boyfriend’s attention half the time. Isaac grinned as Beck pecked his lips, settling back down at the couch happily. “How was your day?” He asked.
