It's my 12 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Damnnnn this is the longest thing I’ve ever had. The closest thing to a relationship I guess is to my own mental insanity.
life is better when you're not malnourished btw

at certain times. when the veil between reality and 2014 tumblr is thin. well lets just say. anything is possible
You know for the first 18-ish years of your life everyone your age is mostly doing the same things and then all of a sudden every year for the rest of your life somebody your age is getting divorced while somebody else just learned what a leaf is and you have no idea what’s going on or what you’re supposed to be doing
Goodnight
in all seriousness it's very alienating knowing theres Something Wrong With You. like seeing your mental illness come through in your behaviour and thought processes and knowing it's irrational and unhealthy, knowing other people are reading you as weird or stupid, and not being able to do anything about it is such a lonely experience
Remember that not everyone with AvPD is conventionally quiet.
We all avoid things differently, and some people may talk a lot in some or all situations because it makes them feel less vulnerable. That doesn’t mean they don’t have AvPD or that their AvPD is less “severe.”
AvPD isn’t social anxiety plus. Because of that, the type of interaction often plays a major role in our fear. For some, the only situations that bring them fear are ones that involve personal connection. For most, all situations are terrifying, but we’ve had to learn to hide it or overcompensate in most. If we can’t hide it, it means we are completely unable to cope.
The impact a disorder has on a person can’t be determined by its visibility.
“The worst part about anything that’s self destructive is that it’s so intimate. You become so close with your addictions and illnesses that leaving them behind is like killing the part of yourself that taught you how to survive.”

avpd culture is feeling a disconnection between you and the world because of how much you've isolated yourself out of pure genuine fear, feeling that you've distanced yourself from people far enough to protect and hide yourself. but at the same time, lamenting how big that distance has become and desiring the warmth of real human connections; wanting to get close, but dreading the idea of vulnerability.
