Please, do not rely on the content of this blog as a serious resource for learning Ukrainian. Memes cannot serve as proper examples of grammatically correct Ukrainian language. They are written in various dialects, surzhyk (the unholy mix of ukrainian and russian), and often use intentionally misspelled or straight-up made-up words. However, this blog can definitely provide an inside look into Ukrainian popular culture and vernacular, if you're interested in that 💙

Note that some submissions may sit in my asks until I have a good idea for translation, but be sure I'm not ignoring you and am happy to see all your memes, those with the most mindblowing wordplay included 💛

I do try to keep the content of this blog as wholesome as possible (a hint of existential dread aside), but there will be swearing, and there will be themes of war that russia started and the Ukrainians are going through right now. We're creating memes about our lives, after all.

I also try to tag posts properly, but if I missed something, or you need a specific type of content tagged, please send me a message. Also, contact me if you noticed that the meme you made was posted and you want me to leave a credit or take it down entirely.

Kitten I'll be honest mom has a massive writers block 😔

I have set a little to high standard for this silly blog when it comes to translations and, especially, descriptions and context explanations, so now it requires a surprising amount of writing effort and research. And my brain isn't braining much lately. So I can't promise anything 😔

Also, Tumblr is dying. Again 🤷‍♀️

(By the way, I'm thinking about setting up a back up place on Pillowfort. Pillowfort doesn't have asks, but it has communities, so everyone could post their own translations or we could even compose the translations together in comments. Just a thought.)
