Emi hadn’t accomplished much the last few weeks. It was rather depressing to think that she hadn’t been much help for her interns as she would have liked to be, but there wasn’t much she could do for that.

Receiving a notification in her inbox, Emi saw she had an email about another intern joining her team. What was this? Opening it, she had another second year from UA joining her.

Mine’s phone went off with 2 emails. One about this new internship ship. It was very important and extremely mandatory that she goes. Mine felt like that mandatory part was put in for her because her school definitely know she won’t go. The email said something about a hero named Mrs. Joke. Mine has never hear of her. Being from America, she doesn’t really know many Japanese pros. She pays more attention to American ones, Spider-Man is one of her favorites.

The next email came from the hero herself. She sounded…….almost happy to met her. Which is a first. She sounded like she was genuinely looking forward to help her, which is also not something she’s used to. Mine thought for a second, this was very important and she absolutely had to go but this was scary. Mine wrote back.

“Hello,

I’m apparently supposed to intern under you I guess. Whoopie! Please let me know when you’re ready to start and we can meet or something.

-mine”

It was a short email but it got to the point.

Getting a message from Mine finally, Emi immediately opened her email. Reading the message quietly to herself, she sensed the girl was sarcastic with her. There was something about the tone of the overall message that gave her a wrong impression about Mine. She was hoping that was wrong, though. 

Responding to the message, Emi sent, “ Mine, it’s great to be able to hear from you! We should meet up soon! Let’s plan to meet at the cafe next to the pet and book store close to your school! See you at 4:00 PM!”

Placing her phone on the counter, she questioned whether or not if anything would come out from this internship. So far, it almost seemed like everyone gave up hope or were letting their students rest.

Mine was…..slightly excited about this. Mine enjoyed training and mastering her quirk. She’d be working one on one with an actual pro and this, for some reason, sparked something in her. Literally and figuratively. She emailed back very quickly.

“ Now? Because I can meet now if you want.”

Wait, that sounded to urgent. She deleted it and started again.

“When is good for you? I’m not doing anything now if you’d like to meet now?”

No that didn’t sound right either. She sighed, she didn’t wanna take to long with her response, or it’ll seem like she’s not interested and serious.

“When would you like to meet. I am available now and I can meet you if you’d like.”

That still didn’t feel right but she sent it anyway.

Having her notifications go off, Emi checked her phone immediately. Skimming the message, she responded quickly, assuming the girl wanted to meet up with her shortly anyway. “Mine, I’ll be on my way. Meet me where we planned on earlier!” 

Getting up from her chair, she ran to her bedroom to get dressed in a striped blouse coming down to her thighs, white leggings, and a pair of tan ankle boots. 

Leaving her apartment, she pulled her hair up into a bun, getting the hair out of her face. Making her way to the cafe, she hurried off, making sure Mine wouldn’t be waiting long for her. 

Entering the cafe, Emi stood there waiting for Mine to show up eventually.

Mine was still in her uniform but she figured it was better because her usual clothes you probably scare her. She grabbed her headphones and headed out her dorm. Ignoring people as she walked out she shot a quick text to her boyfriend, gushing about her internship. She was excited, no one else can know that though.

The weather was nice as usual. Japan is very different from the crowd New York streets. People are nicer here, mine would never admit it but she enjoyed it here way more then she did at home.

The cafe wasn’t far at all and when she arrived she saw a women with bright green hair. Mrs. Joke. Or at least she thinks so, she looked like the lady on the Heropedia page. Mine stood outside for a moment, what does she say to her. She can’t just walk up and say “what’s up!” But before she could overthink, her feet carried her into the cafe. Walking up to the hero. She bowed respectfully.

“Um....hi.” Was all she could muster up.
