Hello, I applied in January and still have heard nothing from the school. Should I contact or is there a time that all letters get sent out?

We operate on rolling admissions, which means we send out admissions decisions as files are complete, rather than waiting until a certain date to release all decisions. So, if you applied in January and haven't received a decision, we are most likely missing some application requirement, like a transcript or your creative requirement (audition or portfolio). You can log in to your applicant status portal to review your checklist at https://admissions.uarts.edu/status. I'd say the best thing to do, however, is reach out to our office directly so we can look up your application and walk you through what is still missing. I was just curious if the acceptance/rejection letters were mailed or if they are on the same website used to apply?

Hello! While not all letters are mailed, all letters are posted to the applicant status portal, so you’ll be able to find any letters we’ve released there. You will get an email notification after a status update has been posted. Log in to admissions.uarts.edu/status with your applicant credentials. If I received a rejection letter, can I apply to a different program for the same year, or can I reapply for the following year?

hello! I recently auditioned at UArts for Musical Theater but got a callback for Acting instead, which I was totally okay with! However, I received a rejection letter stating that I was not accepted for Musical Theater but nothing about Acting. Yet I was told that it is possible to be accepted for something different that what you auditioned for. Does this mean another letter will be sent stating whether I have been accepted for Acting?

if you're a graphic design major, are you taught how to use adobe products such as illustrator?

Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes! Our Graphic Design freshmen are introduced to the Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffects, and they continue to use and enhance these skills through their time at UArts. Adobe Creative Cloud and other software is available for free to all UArts students.

What is the acceptance rate for the graphic design program? Or how competitive is it, generally?

Hello! Thanks for your interest in UArts! The University accepts about 70% of applicants overall. That rate does vary a little program-to-program. We enjoy meeting each of our applicants and getting to know who you are as a person and as an artist. We’re looking for a good match between who you are and who we are. Hello! I was reading through the information about housing and it stated that the meal plan is required for freshman students. Is it really required? I really want to be able to get a dorm but I can't really afford it if meal plan required. Thank you! :)

Hi! The meal plan is required for all residential students—anyone living in one of our dorms. This helps ensure students have access to fresh, healthy food and are eating regularly. While we do offer exemptions to this policy, an exemption is only granted for a documented disability / medical diagnosis, or a religious dietary restriction that we cannot accommodate. Hello! I have two questions! :) My first question is if students are required to purchase their materials. I just got accepted into the illustration major and I am trying to find information on if the students purchase the materials or if it's provided by the school. My second question is when are students notify about the directors Scholarship and if only winners of the scholarship is notify? Thank you! :)

Materials are purchased by students. Material costs may vary a lot by department and course selection, but you can find a cost estimate on our Undergraduate Tuition & Fees page. You’ll find out what materials need to be purchased through your course syllabi.
