I haven’t had the best luck meeting my companions in Dragon Age 2.

First time I run into Varric, he’s lost one of his arms.

Then Fenris is running around without a face.

And then, first time I meet Anders, the poor bloke is just a floating head.

This is becoming a problem.

I have noticed that the Dragon Age fandom tend to forget that Anders is a believer. Yes he is anti-Chantry but his belief in the Maker is absolute. Anders is no atheist, he isn’t even agnostic. So it is very weird to see him being championed by the atheist and agnostic fans of Dragon Age. It undercuts match of what makes Anders’s life so tragic. He believes and as a believer, the Chantry should be his sanctuary. Instead, it oppresses and excludes him just because of how the Maker made him.
