I find it funny how Oz adaptations keep adding romantic subtext between Dorothy and the Scarecrow (or Scarecrow analogue) when in the original books, Dorothy lives with her trans fairy princess girlfriend and the Scarecrow's in a happy relationship with his dandy cyborg boyfriend.

Happy Valentines day everyone reminder that Nick Chopper, the Tin Woodman of Oz is a heavily aromatic coded character as in the 12th book he explicitly talks about being unable to feel romantic love and this is treated as okay, and he is still of the most loving characters in Oz with very valid strong platonic relationships and is regarded as such.

Silly little headcanon that's been keeping me going for a while: Sally discovers Oingo Boingo and keeps bugging Jack about it (was he in a band???) and she just gets OBSESSED with it. Now every time Jack walks in of Sally listening or singing Boingo, he gets this look of pure dread.
