If I’ve learned anything from this god awful college, it’s fucking watch every move they make and scrutinize EVERYTHING.

So wait they wont charge us money for the first/second week because we’re figuring out schedules out,

but if the class doesn’t have it’s bare minimum by the first day it’s on then it’s cancelled for the whole semester

PSA: Jennifer Meaders at the University Center won't give you accurate information.

I called Friday to ask if I could fax an add/drop form instead of turning it in in person. The first woman (very nice and helpful, I wish I got her name) I talked to said, yes, I can fax it. She gave me the fax number and told me to just make sure I kept my confirmation that it was sent. When I wasn't sure what she meant, she explained that since they have such high volume right now, as long as I have proof that I submitted it before the deadline they are required to honor it.  I tried faxing it, but it wasn't received *surprise*. Called back and talked to a different woman and asked if I could scan and email in a copy, since I wasn't able to physically turn it in. She said, "No, you can't. I don't know who told you that you could fax it either. It has to be submitted in person." She said that they won't accept it because "they might not see the email in time". I explained that I was just told that they should honor any form that was submitted before 5pm, regardless of whether or not the registration office processes it then. She said "Well, you can try to email it. But it's not a guarantee". I was nearly in tears by the time I hung up the phone because she was giving me completely different information and was extremely vague and unhelpful beyond that.  Not knowing what to do, I called my professor of the class I was trying to register for and he gave me the name and number of someone at the Eagle River campus. When I called, the person on the phone said, "She's unavailable right now, but I can probably help you. What is it you need?" I explained that I needed a way to submit my form or have someone in administration fix the instructor approval and she said, "Oh, of course you can email it. They absolutely have to honor it if you submit it in time. Here, email it to me and I'll personally send it to the registration office. I'll email you back to confirm that I received it too." Her name is Mariah, and she made my day. tl;dr  Jennifer Meaders is a rude unhelpful person that works in the UC. Yes you can fax and email in add/drop forms, or any other form. As long as you can confirm that you submitted something before a deadline they are required to honor it. And Mariah is an awesome person who doesn't bullshit you.

This is absolute bullshit. I am not going to shell out 250 just because I have ONE class prior to 4pm and it would be cheaper to just use the pay n park. ESPECIALLY because parking is so limited and ridiculous due to construction. I hate it here so much.

I wrote parking services a very stern but polite email, and they answered me promptly with, “Your parking permit has been accepted!” I guess they didn’t want to be on #ughuaa or #uaamazing.

Idiots.
