Lounges in the Cougar Village dormstories These lounges are on every floor of both CVs (Cougar Villages), and there are about 4 on each floor. This means there is plenty of room to go study, whether it’s by yourself or with a group of friends. Each lounge also has a private study room, which blocks sound pretty nicely, if you are looking for a quieter place to study. During the day the traffic is constant but very light. Typically people are not to loud, so you are able to maintain a focused mindset. At night many people come out to study, and typically are very focused on retaining knowledge. Overall, this is a great place to study! Side note: You must live in the CVs or be with a friend who does to enter the building!

is there any places to study outside with outlets?

outside the bagel place, the student center, or outside near any building has a few outlets. i will post other options when i find them! thanks for the question

Outside Between Student Center South and Student Center North.

On days where the weather is good (not indicated by this picture) this is a great place to sit and study and is located next to the food court.

This place has no outlets but is located near many other indoor study areas if the weather gets bad or it gets dark.

Since it is outside there is no time restraint and there is adequate lighting because of its location between two well lit buildings.

Science Teaching Laboratory

located next to Lamar Fleming is the Science Teaching Laboratory. on the first, second, and third floors are two couches with a table. The table is very small which makes working in groups close to impossible but, would work well for an individual. there are outlets available and since the only classes going on in this building are labs, it is always quiet.

The building is always open and the lights are always on!

Student Center South, Piano Room.

In the Student Center south, on the side behind Freshii, is a well lit, red, and beautiful room. It is called the piano room by many because there is a piano inside that students sometimes practice at. If you like the sound of live piano in the background, and sometimes singing, while you study then this is the perfect place for you. There are many tables and chairs but during midterm and finals weeks, seating might be rare. Its location in the Student Center means there are many food and drink options.

The Student Center South hours are from Monday through Saturday from 7:30am to 11:00pm, the food option hours are each different so make sure to check online. The hours Sunday is from 1:00pm until 11:00pm

Outside of Einstein Bagel Bro, across from the library.

This are offers tables at which to sit at but, don’t be discouraged if they are all full, there are also ledges at which students sit on with their legs propped and study. this outside location does not have outlets but, just a few feet away inside are delicious bagels and coffee. There is a roof that offers shade and protection from rain. The downfall of this location is that since it is located in a popular area, there are always people on the go and loud bake sales frequent.

If you are looking to study at the times that Bagel Bro is open, that is 6am to 4pm on Monday through Friday.

Outside Technology Annex.

Outside of the Technology Annex building, which is across from Agnes Arnold, there are a few benches with an umbrella for shade at which to sit at.

Since this location is outside, there is no time restrict, only the weather and time of day determines when these tables can be utilized. there is usually always at least one table open!

The Fountain. located not far from the library is the fountain.

this is a great place to study on days that the weather permits. Students can e fount sitting at the benches places around the circumference, sitting on the stairs, sitting on the ledge with their feet in the water, or sprawled all around on the grass on concrete.

There is no outlets available so this place is best for working on things that do not require charging or, for a short time until charging is needed.

The fountain is always open to students until it become too dark to see.

Agnes Arnold Hall

Although currently under construction, this building is great as an outdoors study area. there are 6 floors and on each floor at either end are one to two tables with chairs at while students can sit and study. there is a roof over each level which offers shade and at the top floor, one can witness the sunset.

The building has both stairs and elevators for convenience.

The building is always open and lights usually remain on so even when it is dark, students can remain and study as long as they wish.

Roy G Cullen Second Floor

located on the second floor of Roy G Cullen, the building next to the fountain, this is the perfect quiet spot to study. classes are located on the second floor so this floor is occupied by offices and a few amount of students who think to come here. The downside is that there are more chairs than tables to sit at and outlets are not sparse.

The building is always unlocked.

COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER [CTC]

The nice open space with a plethora of computers is located on the second floor of the Communication Building.

This is a great destination to work on group project or have the luxury of using a campus computer without searching for a computer like you’re searching for a parking spot. You can even rent rooms within the center that have nice long tables and computers as well. The computers have multiple programs installed for all your needs.

BLAFFER ART MUSEUM GALLERY NOOK

This studying Nook is located inside our amazing Blaffer Art Museum we are lucky to have. It’s located immediately with you walk in to the back entrance by the ART school courtyard entrance.

They only ask that you show them your Cougar Card so they can keep up with how many people actually use the space. It’s nice and intimate. There are outlets available. They also have books relating to their current exhibits and interactive activities in the area. If you need a study break you can check that out or go ahead and check out the FREE museum.

UH LAW CENTER AND JOHN M. O’QUINN LAW LIBRARY

Located in the Law College across from The Lofts.

Here’s a hidden little spot that not a lot of people know about. You’re bound to get some major studying done here. Who knows you may even experience some law action or even find yourself a lawyer. All the perks.

Hilton Hotel

Located near Lynn Eusan and the UC

Cafe is extremely quite and the area is not well known by everyone on campus, so chances to study by yourself are high!

Moody Towers

Dining Hall next to the Cougar Villages.

Open 24 hours year round, quietest during the hours that most restaurants are quiet (not during lunch or dinner).
