she smiles, pulling a second console from her backpack and turning it on. the one miaya was holding already had the title screen of the game booted up, and the blonde leans over to her side (where she takes note of the height difference. how cute!)

“Alright, I’ve already exchanged the friend codes between these two, so it’s easy to visit my town! There’s a map on the bottom of the screen, and the train station is usually at the north area. You talk to Porter— The monkey— and ask to visit another town. It’ll connect pretty quickly, so we can get to exploring as soon as you show up!“

she doesn’t do much multiplayer with another, real life, actual person, so to say she’s excited to be doing so would be an understatement. if the huge grin on her face doesn’t say anything, the way she’s gripping tightly onto her own ds will.

  ❝I see. So I have to talk to that monkey, alright... ❞ She mumbled as she tried to figure out the controls. It turned out to be easier than she thought it would be. Perhaps she was exaggerating this whole gaming thing and there wasn’t a reason to worry.

  She succesfully managed to talk with Porter in a short time and then asked it to visit another town. Few seconds after, she had to choose if she wanted to visit a nearby town or a far away town.

  Now it was hard. First, she tried to figure it out on her own, of course. But she absolutely didn’t know what either of those were supposed to mean. She fiercely looked at the DS, as if it would help her to understand.  Obviously, she did not get an answer from the device in her hands. It felt bad that she had to ask such a question, but it would be worse if she did anything wrong.

❝Akamatsu-san, sorry but, can you tell me what ‘Nearby Town’ and ‘Far away Town’ mean?❞

❝Of course.❞ She sighed. ❝Not everyone will think the way I think. That will be their loss. I can’t spend my whole life trying to convince people.❞ 

Her eyes wandered off in the distance. 

❝I wish I could. Still, even though I could be wrong as well, I’ll believe myself. It has been working so far, no reason it would suddenly stop.❞

Not to mention that most deaths caused by weather conditions happen in summer and winter as well… Well, I’m not too sure about summer but a lot of people do die or get injured in winter. Summer sometimes makes me uncomfortable since it may get too hot. I don’t really have an explanation for autumn… It’s nice, I just like spring better.❞

        though they had never SPOKEN, celestia had always actively avoided anyone with the title of therapist. after all, it was THEIR job to unravel the psyche – to discern what has gone wrong and find some kind of vague TRUTH. this would all be counterproductive in the gambler’s persona. at least, this is what she will tell herself. a larger part of her is AFRAID of what would genuinely be uncovered – compulsive liar, paranoia, ptsd, addicted. there are so many things she could fall under, so many reasons why she stays very FAR away from others.

     but for once it seems luck is not lingering upon her side. eyes fixated upon the book before her – a soft noise alerts her to a presence. glancing upwards, eyes narrow just a bit as she REALIZES who she is gazing at only to slip back into a less telling look – allowing that DOLL mask to envelop her, walls entirely built. an ANNOYED huff escapes.

            “ what do you REQUIRE? i do hope it is important if you are interrupting my reading. “

  Miaya straightened herself up at the other girl’s sudden reaction. She had just been watching people around, but when her eyes came across Celestia, she couldn’t take her eyes off. Celestia’s presence could be sensed even when Miaya was not looking at her. After all, with her looks, she was quite different from anyone else that could be found in the library. 

 With an anxious look on her face, Miaya opened her mouth. ❝I am genuinely very sorry if I am bothering you!..❞  She went silent again, wondering if she should make an excuse or just tell the truth. Luckily, she was wise enough to know that a lie told by herself would not go unnoticed by Celestia. And so she only had one option.  ❝I didn’t mean to disturb. I was just looking around, I know it doesn’t fully make sense, but that is the truth... ❞  

  Her eyes shifted to the book in Celestia’s hands. She tried sounding happier and spoke again.  ❝But now what I’m wondering is, what are you reading? It’s completely okay if you’d prefer not to tell, or if you’d prefer me to just go away! I’ll do whatever makes you comfortable!❞  Now she was being too considerate... Maybe? This was only happening because the other girl intimidated her so much (and also intrigued her so much). 

Of course what she asked was not important, just something she made up at the moment. Meaning she could get an angry response... But what was the worst that could happen? If she told her to go away, she would immediately do so. However, it was not a lie when she said she wanted to learn what Celestia was reading. It was not surprising to see her reading, it was just hard to figure out what she could be reading. Miaya’s first guess would be a classical novel, not that she was confident in her guess. 

  So now, she had to wait for Celestia’s response.

just finished writing miaya’s backstory!! here it is, take a look if you want

Enoshima has been very upset. Boredom was one thing, but when her own psyche decides to play games with her, something must be done. She started to relieve her memories of that moment in time when she witnessed her mother’s…death in a very unfortunate circumstances. And that was very good, she was just very happy…for the first few times. However, it has become boring since then. She was aware of her triggers, but could not avoid them, as death was coming along with her plans very closely and with those memories she just could not concentrate on anything even if it was some other source of despair! Annoying things must be dealt with. And she already had a very convenient story in mind. A play on the fact that she did really have some sort of trauma. And so she is standing here, before this ultimate therapist and just looking at her with a very distressed look on her face. Something nobody would ever think of seeing (she is always either smiling or just being calm…never sad, not in public at least). 

“Uhm…well….uuuh…how can i even start this? I think i just unlocked some….repressed memories. You are a therapist right? I-it’s very urgent. Can i come in? I just…need someone to speak to. Could you possibly be that someone? I can..i-i can go away if you want to?” She stutters, her voice sounds just as she looks, very distressed and somewhat annoyed. She tries to move around, she looks very fidgety, nervous awaiting the answer. A brilliant play on her own, true feelings. She just painted a different picture from the same colors. 

  Miaya was rather shocked, seeing the Ultimate Fashionista like this. The image of Junko she had in her head was a girl who was always cheery, even though Miaya was always aware that she simply had to act like that. Yet she fully believed that Junko was being sincere as she spoke those words.

  She didn’t wait a moment to think before saying, ❝Of course. Come in.❞ and welcoming her inside. Considering how late it was, maybe she wouldn’t even be able to help- At least that is what she thought. Another side of her felt compelled to help, after all what is her title good for, if she is useless now? With a concerned look on her face, she proceeded to ask, ❝What exactly is the problem, Enoshima-san? Feel free to take your time with explaining if you need to, I’ll be listening.❞

She figured it would be rude to make her stand at the entrance, so she lead Junko to her living room, hoping it wouldn’t be a problem.  ❝Take a seat, if you’d like to? ❞

1 - 2 - This doesn’t bother me at all. I am completely okay with this. 3 - 4 - This slightly irks me, but I am not really afraid of this. 5 - 6 - I see it as a regular fear, I do not wish to be in the presence of this. 7 - 8 - I see it as a pretty big fear of mine, I cannot stand being in the presence of this, or I could be mentally distraught. 9 - This is one of my biggest fears, and even seeing stuff about it online makes me terrified. 10 - This is my alltime worst fear. Seeing it online, or even hearing a word correlating to it will send me in immediate panic.

she smiles, holding up her DS to the therapist. if there was anyone that interested her, it was the therapist. and what better way to get to know the older girl, besides what she knew best?

Miaya had to look up while listening to the gamer, which she found a little sad, considering how she was older than her but still much shorter. However, she did not get upset, because Kaede’s offer was enough to make her day anyway. It wasn’t often that someone would ask her to do something fun with them.

❝Hello, Akamatsu-san! Thank you very much for suggesting that we play together. Of course, I’d be happy to do so!❞ she stopped for a second to think and then she proceeded to say with a smile, ❝Hmm, Animal Crossing. I’ve seen screenshots from it before, but I never played it myself. It looks like a very cute game, though!❞

As she finished talking, she grabbed the DS. Gaming consoles in general were quite distinct to her, hence she really wasn’t a gamer. But she could surely try. 

How does this even work..? She wondered but didn’t voice her thoughts yet, hoping the other girl would explain.
