Found something I did a while ago but somehow never posted??
So, it turned out that I had this YA Novel(ish) AU, which is basically about five years post-canon South Park teens go full on La Resistance mode on Mr.Garrison who decided to build dictatorship and stay in power forever. It`s not supposed to get actually political or whatever, more like mimicking those YA dystopian trilogies half-ironically/half-seriously, with all the tropes like nobody caring that shit starts to go down quickly or taking any sort of action but a bunch of (unfairly awesome) children, which already happens in South Park, like, all the time. Ah, they`re also a secret little movement, therefore casual character designs and also lots of teen drama, how could I ever forget.
[Also LAiR, if I `member correctly. literally stands for “La Resistance for IOS or whatever”, according to Kyle who made the messenger app distributed only within the movement so while being pretty casual about making their plans, via phone calls and texting and all the normal stuff, they can be perfectly secured]
Another big thing about this AU is the structure of La Resistance: Diversion Groups of four, each one can function on it`s own but can, if so needed, unite with others any time. These are mostly strange, unlikely squads to study some team dynamics different from canon, and to divide “screen time” between main, supportive and episodic characters somewhat more equally. The groups also,for ironic purposes and because teenagers will be teenagers no matter what, have this loud iconic showy names, yay!
Early on, Marjorine Butters Stotch and her group, Angels of Chaos, were the ones to distrupt the work of camp New Grace from the inside, turning the whole thing into La Resistance`s brand new headquarters and recruiting some new allies in the process. Now they specialise mostly on undercover sabotage and resque missions.
Anyway, I found this and decided I like it way too much to let go, so I`ll probably do some more groups, maybe a masterpost, dynamics and all that. Maybe start an ask blog if this stuff gets some recognition? Idc, let`s see how it goes.
