playlist for a dead hairdresser
[Execution] Hair Die
Like her predecessors, Jiang-li de la Rosa felt a shock of cold metal clasp around her neck. Her face filled with horror as it pulled her back and into the darkness. The remaining students watched intently, as the screen above the trial changed.Purple drapes pulled back to show a completely dark scene.
Within the dark was a small spot light that followed Jiang-li. Terror washed over her as a skittering sound became audible in the distance. Its steps were erratic and loud, as if someone were chattering their teeth. The floors vibrated with every movement and soon enough it became too much to bear.
The hairdresser fled into the darkness as the movements beyond the light followed her. She tried to peer into the gloom, but the light that shone from above her made it difficult to see past it. Whatever was chasing her was hidden completely, while she was in plain sight.
Discouraged, but unable to give up without a fight, Jiang-li continued to run around erratically as darkness filled the void. It was starting to feel never ending, until suddenly the creature following her stopped, and the room became eerily quiet.
Was this it? Did she escape whatever it could have been behind her? The poor girl gave a sigh of relief, held her hand close to her chest, and closed her eyes. A sense of calm came over her beating heart while she tried to slow her breathing.
What felt like hours of serene darkness lasted only minutes. When Jiang-li opened her eyes, the sight before her was a large Monokuma face. Attached to it was a large, spider body. Its eyes glowed and it smiled wickedly as she stumbled backwards.
Tripping over herself, the Hairdresser let out a small cry for help before running backwards into the darkness. It was only a matter of time before she’d lose her life. In the darkness was a thick string of hairs, lined in webs. She stood against it, pulling the scissors from her hair to try and cut through the large, thick strands.
Inevitably, the mono-spider hybrid caught up to her in no time. It grabbed the poor girl and began to wrap her in the thick strands, tightly and painfully. Jiang-li let out gasps for air in between awkward sobs. Her voice muffled as the cocoon easily found itself covering her completely.
Seconds passed, and the monospider bit down on her body; its fangs sunk into the tight strands of hair, bright blood seeping out between them as the video feed to the courtroom cut to darkness. Good bye, Jiang-li.
[TASK 8] ...404 [open]
A firm grip met his shoulder, snapping him out of his terrified daze, his quickened breath slowly returning to normal. He half expected it to be Kyo, but was a bit surprised to see Jiang-Li here, giving him motivation. Did all he could..? What the hell did he do? And everyone rooting for him.. He could think of a few contradictions–
…What was Akihito thinking? Wasn’t he supposed to be giving these people a chance? And… Maybe she was right. Maybe… Maybe there were people out there who were proud. Wouldn’t that be a nice change… He felt more like he was getting his hopes up, but he did like the idea of people being proud… She seems to believe it. Maybe he should, too. It still took him a moment to calm down. Once he did, we was able to speak again.
"Y-yeah… Sorry. I’ll uh… try not t’ lose my head.“ That’s all he could think to say. What else could he say?…
"I-I doubt th’ Chief’d be callin’ me a very good deputy if I didn’t help out..” he pushed himself off the floor, his body feeling really heavy. This whole place had really been taking its toll on him. What he wouldn’t give to sleep in his own bed again. He looked over to the crime scene once more, swallowing hard.
“An’ Cookie Dude was nothin’ but nice t’ me last we talked so… I’d look like a real ass if I flaked on ‘im."
"Wanna help me out, Rosa-tan?… Ya got a better head on yer shoulders than I do.” He glanced around the hallway they were in, seeing if any clues stood out for him. “We could start here if ya wanna.” He was so depressively unsure of himself. She probably wouldn’t want to work with someone like him.
Relieved by his eventual recovery, she did what she could to give off a cheerful disposition during these troubling times.
“That’s the spirit, Ozu-kun! I-I suppose..? Ah, regardless, two heads are b-better than ‘ne.”
Assessing the hallways, she found that there wasn’t anything to take note of.
“There doesn’t seem to be any evidence ‘ere..” At first, Jiang-Li would have ushered themselves back into the crime scene to investigate the area further-- but she didn’t want to egg any more trauma onto Ozu-kun than when she’d arrived there. There were plenty of people probing the kitchen anyways-- it was a much safer route to start somewhere that didn’t exactly smell like spilled blood.
“Ah..! Why don’t we check one of the rooms around the kitchen-- how about the break room?”

[TASK 8] ...404 [open]
Akihito couldn’t believe his eyes… he.. was only just talking to the guy…
“….Buddy…? Yo.. yo this ain’t th’ time t’ be fuckin’ around…” He stepped over to him, slowly… he was dead… there was no denying it… but even so, Akihito kept denying it.
“T-this ain’t funny! Ya were just fine yesterday!!..”
He reached out to shake him– but stopped just short of actually touching him,. He didn’t want to disturb the crime scene, but he wanted him to wake up, but he knew he would never wake up, but he didn’t want him to die, he’s okay, he’s not dead, he’s dead, he’s okay, he’s……
“I TOLD YA T’ STAY AWAY FROM ME!! WHY DIDN’T YA LISTEN??!” Akihito lost it. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, shaking and trying so hard not to completely fall apart. He was so good at doing that… He could probably be heard throughout the floor, he couldn’t help himself. “Didnt I say this would happen!? So…so why… y-ya should’ve just listened t’ me… I-I didn’t mean t’…*sniff*…” He stepped back.. hands shaking, backing away from him.. he’s glad he didn’t touch him.. he would have felt cold, right..? He backed up more, even though all he wanted to do was hug him and give him a little bit of the kindness he showed him the night before, to make up for the cruelty that befell him and…
Akihito backed up into the hall, falling back on his ass, his back against the wall as he felt like he was gonna pass out. The room was spinning. Why did this have to happen again.. why could he never get used to this… why did all the good people keep dying..?
Did she dare venture to the hub of where most of the commotion seemed to take place? If not.. all. She steeled herself for what was to come, stumbling upon the gruesome sight before her.
“O-Ozu-kun..?”
She hiked back her breath, averting her gaze from the corpse. This was it. This was her breaking point– of all the bodies she’d witnessed, of the ones that once had the faces of both students and friends, was this really the one that’d become the rot of her tormented bearings? She watched as the boy scream and stagger backwards, meeting himself with the back of wall. She couldn’t give him the empathy he wanted– the empathy he needed, but if anything that Jiang-Li could offer, it was the consolidation and comfort anyone in this circumstance could call for.
She slowly made her way towards Akihito, crouching down to meet his height. Her hands hesitantly firmed themselves on his shoulder, closing their distances between them. What he needed was that feeling of validation, something Jiang-Li wasn’t all too familiar. But they’d come so far, it was better and any ounce of support would be for a better outcome! A support that genuinely came from the heart.
>
“Ozu-kun, please..! Calm d-down, it’s not your fault. Not any of this is y-your fault! Th.. There’s really no helping the result.. b-but you did all ya could, and I’m sure, no- I know! Everyone who has c-come to meet ya are proud of you and rooting you from wherever they may be. I-I’ve no doubt of it! S-so please, for their and our sake, stay with us..!”
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
More praise! If she had known she was this good at the whole detective thing, she would have started sooner. Then again, outside of this underwater murder factory she wouldn’t really have had the opportunity. That was probably for the best.
Surprised at the gift, she took it with both hands and held it up to her eye-level to get a good look at it. Definitely not her style, but it had a sort of creepy charm to it. More importantly than that, it was a gift!!!
“Aw thanks, Jangly-chan! I’ll take good care of it! But you’re totally cute too, y’know? Like, your hair is so pretty! And you’ve got great fashion sense~!” She ticked off the traits on her fingers as she said them, as if she had a whole list. What Jiang-li might be lacking in confidence she made up twofold in looks, and Miya was never one to shy away from beauty talk. “So when we team up, we’re like a cutie squad~ Heheh!”
She looked down at the plush in her hands again, feeling a little sentimental herself. “Geez, you’re making me look bad~ I didn’t get you anything! If there’s something I can do just let me know, ‘kay?”
“Eh? O-oh, I-I appreciate your words, I-Iwazumi-san.. I-I’m flattered-!”
Just like that, she’d been entangled in the others’ compliments. But Jiang-Li bore a humble disposition to debate whether they’d been truly genuine or not. Though, it was true she enjoyed Miya’s company more than she could have bargained for. ..Despite the conflict between differing personalities.
“Oh n-no! Ya don’t have t-to feel inclined to get me anything, your presence will suffice nicely..!”
Jesus.
“Anyways, sh-shall we make our way to the cafeteria?” On that note, she’d begun their way towards the cafeteria. “Perhaps you can show me some dietary alternatives they have! Frankly, I h-haven’t visited the cafeteria too often. What do ya usually have, Iwazumi-san?”
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
“Haha, h-hey I’m not cool or anything like that, it’s just– I’m used to it. Same for you I bet, like, in that kinda heat I’d be a puddle, probably… we’re just used to what we’re used to, right? It’s strange but… it’s nice like, having those differences.”
This was… a bit weird, wasn’t it? Drawing their dead … well if not friends then companions. But he supposed it wasn’t the weirdest thing he’s done - he’d been practicing their voices after all. Why? Even he wasn’t sure of the answer to that one. Maybe he just wanted to keep remembering. Like a script - he just wanted something to rehearse and rehearse over and over so that it’d stick in his head forever, immortalized in any way he could manage. There’s that argument that people aren’t really dead if they’re remembered. He has a hard time agreeing with that; the holes of those missing constantly remind him that there are a good many of them who are never coming back. But perhaps it’s a selfish desire on his part. To keep such memories, to remember in case time forgot them.
“… They were kind. I want to believe that. Sometimes it really eats me, that sometimes I’m faced with how little I knew about them. And how much they suffered but… at least there are memories. And that kindness, too! Wait, me?! Yeah… I mean… Eh? E-endearing? I mean but– Uh– oh– yeah? I mean really? I don’t um– t-thanks…“
Well him being flustered was nothing new but he really had to work on this ‘how to take compliments’ thing. It was strange; he was never bad at it before. He had fans before – they’d scream things out and call him cute and he’d laugh in turn - it was that simple. Maybe it was because when it came to fans it felt so much more distance. And well, those people didn’t really know the real him, either.
“I– Rosa-san is also really kind though… I mean, you’ve always been so good-hearted. I don’t think anyone here dislikes you one bit. Being so nice is kinda incredible. No worries about the tangent though, it, that, it happens, you know? Overtones though… important bonds, I guess… I guess that’s true.”
Grouped off into pairs? A special atmosphere… when he put his mind to it… that was kind of true, wasn’t it? There were a few groupings, a few pairs that had bonded more than others. It was something he noticed more in retrospect than any moment he’d actually been there to witness such interactions in time. Well… that was a shame but it was to be expected he guessed. For a while he’d been really self-absorbed… just as he’s about to add onto his pondering statement he notices her crying.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! There’s water coming out of your eyes–?! Why?! I mean y-you’re crying! I’m so sorry! Was it something I said?! I won’t talk about the ones that– the ones we lost anymore! That was really insensitive, I’ll reflect on it– please don’t cry!”
“N-no, no..! It’s nothing, I assure--! I’m sorry for making you worried, Irino-kun. How awfully insensitive of me to be t-thinking like that, ‘nd crying in f-front of company.”
She laughs in her tears’ stead, hoping to reassure that he’s done nothing of the sort that would’ve prompted her sob episode.
“I-I’m just happy is all--! Although th-these are terrible conditions f-forced ourselves onto each other, I-I’m happy I was able to meet you, Irino-kun, along with Iwazumi-san, and the others..! It’s as if I w-was truly blessed to be met with such talented ‘nd generous individuals. I only wish we’d-- a-all of us, had met before and extended our bonds. But e-even now, I cherish the memories we’ve created, of the good and the terrible. Thank you.”
"Oh, say, Irino-kun-- if we make it out of here, w-would ya be interested in--”
“Ah, nevermind.”
I just felt like doodling because of sad Akihito and then it expanded oops
Also I drew Kiyoyuki’s brother so there you go
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
Beautiful? Is it really? Interesting, he’s never considered himself very good at art. Maybe it’s a hidden talent. Either way it’s fun and there’s not much pressure in such a subject and that in itself is a relief.
He laughs and part of him is shocked he can manage that. But it’s a good thing. Drawing with Jiang-Li like this makes him forget the situation somehow. Really it’s just like two people hanging out which is… well, something he’s never been good at, mind, but at the very least he didn’t need to talk very much. Or perhaps it was that her social skills were as poor as his so he didn’t think about it as much. It was something he had to think about though; something to improve on. Well, there’s a list of those qualities though.
It’s nice to hear her talk about where she came from though the subject is short-lived.
"That sounds fun. Jobs would always take me here and there but I don’t think I ever really enjoyed warm weather, but, I guess it was difficult, huh?”
Well that was awkward. Giving she was talking a bout wasting food it might’ve been a sensitive subject. Last time he’d talked to someone with money and food problems it’d been Kaitaro… although he wanted to extend sympathy he just thought it best to not breach it one way or the other. Even if he wanted to empathise it’s not like he had ever been like that personally.”
”I was born in Monbetsu–” Kiyoyuki supplies in turn. It’s only fair. “in Hokkaido. Traveled a bit but never really left for real. So I guess snow never impressed me much - it was a constant so you just got used to it. Oh, but I could board a little. I wasn’t as good as–” another pause. Oops, continue past that thought, Kiyoyuki. “Well, I mean, you had to be strong, you know? Cause you could get sick really easily. I was pretty weak as a kid but. Here we are. Polar opposites… haha… you’re right the– oh, the joke! I get it!”
And there it was… a picture of Kemono and Kaitaro… friends…? That’s a thought. Kiyoyuki’s head was still clogged up from his feelings about Kaitaro in all honesty. How someone he hated became someone he envied and somewhat respect to someone so weak and eventually… someone scared enough to try anything.
“You think so? That’s… it’s a nice thought, right? I wonder if any of us would be friends if this hadn’t happened… geez, I wonder if some of us would’ve even ever talked to each other, right? It’s a really weird thought.”
Dream-like, really. Or maybe it’s the outside world that seems dream-like. Either way it feels like one of them is fake. He kind of wants to think about it now, too. Friendships and the like. He has a think about it, eyes wandering, and then he takes to drawing himself. These two… they’d passed on too. Well, been killed, more accurately. It’s so strange, they had so much life ahead of them… thinking about them now it almost feels like they’d never been here. Or they’d never left. It was a strange contradiction, that feeling.
“These two… I think… they would’ve been friends if they knew each other better. Ihara-san and Sister-san. Sister-san is popular, she would be, I think. She was really kind.”
"Uwaah, Irino-kun, you're so cool!! I don't think I could withstand that kinda climate-- but I s'ppose some people are tailored to prefer different temperatures. I-isn't it strange how that works?"
She chuckles lightly, glancing at the screen. Truly, she did admire Irino-kun. He made her feel... at home. Surrounded by people in the past who supported her all her life had made her recognize that home was not just under the confines of a physical structure or some brass speck you can tack onto a map. It was a place that served the source of your most pleasant of regards, where the feeling of "this is where I belong" lingered.. She felt truly compatible with him, accomodating with his philosphies and ideas.
"A-ah.. Ihara-san and Adheir-san. T-they certainly were the most generous of the pack, huh? N-not to say you aren't! I-I mean, through s-social means they were very approachable, oh I mean, you seem l-l-like a very approachable person..! You're very kind, very h-handsome, with an endearing disposition 'nd-"
She was making a fool of herself! Stifling a violent cough, she swallowed whatever words fronted in her throat. It was better that way.
"F-forgive me about that.. I tend ta, slip into tangents like that. B-but! These three f-for sure were very dynamic from a distance's observation..! But, y-you could also tell that there w-was some tense overtones i-in between a few of the lot, 'ad they been grouped by pairs. Though, how nice it'd feel to b-be so close like that, to be so mutually invested with someone and experience the wonders of love and strong devotion to someone-!"
Thinking about the dynamics of others certainly put things into narrow perspective for her. It was as though everyone had some other they deeply cared for.. cherished.. revered... perhaps even worshiped. But what was she, in this sea of intermingling individuals hailing from varying origins? She was simply a pawn, awaiting the day she is ensnared by the complex network man's essential illness provided. Jiang-Li knew she wasn't all that strong. Through emotional and physical proportions, she bore a weak heart. Similarly.. unless the redeeming qualities the harassed seemed to hold are singled out through some other means, who would ever lament for the Ugly Duckling?
She lowered her chin, staring blankly at whatever was in front of her. Palm clutching the mouse, it wasn't enough to even out the trembling of her hand.
“...”
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
Having dragged herself out of her room, Miya finally set foot in the new area, although when she reached it she immediately felt like it must have been a waste of time. What good would this dreary office do her? It wasn’t even interesting enough to fuel her hopes for distraction. But perhaps the other girl who’d come to investigate could?
“You think so?” Her question was abrupt without a cheery greeting to start it, and she peered around Jiang-li’s shoulder to get a better look at the desktop, her mouth turned in a small frown. “What would students need cubicles for, anway~?” she mused, leaning over the keyboard and directing the mouse to one of the ‘DESPAIR’ folders, clicking on it a few times in vain. An annoyed sigh left her lips as her brow furrowed. “Geez…”
“Whatever. Oh, I wanted to tell you–” Turning back to the hairdresser, Miya tried to regain her sisterly smile, wanting to save face in spite of her previous ‘uncharacteristic’ grumpiness. “– you really helped out back there, y’know? With the investigating thing. So like, thanks!” It was a little strained, and maybe that showed, but Miya really did like Jiang-li as much as she could considering their limited interaction. If she could gain a little praise in return from the friendly face, maybe she would feel better.
"Ah? Oh, i-it's no problem..! I-I mean, without ya as a partner I-I doubt we could've moved on with the trial, you really do contribute a-alot when it comes to that, ah? Huhu, I'm a bit envious with your skills Iwazumi-san..!"
She fetches a small felt toy from her pocket and presents it to Miya. Shaped like a ghost, it's small but it's cuteness measures up to its size.
"Actually as a token of my gratitude, I've been meaning ta give someone this-- I-I'd held onto it since I'd won it in the Mono Machine. It does 'old some sentimental value ta me, b-but I think it'd suit someone far cuter, wouldn't you think?"
Cutting Slack ||OPEN/MOTIVE||
She began back into that cycle of hers once again, well... not hers, but the one indoctrinated by the bear. She filed into her cubicle, a feeling of uncertainty distributed in unequal quantities around her body. As she watched the image of Nana manifest itself onto the screen, the girl could only feel the dread swell up in her throat eliciting the slight urge to gag. She swallowed it back, watching the video play. Was this.. really Nana? Nana Yasuda? Certainly, the model in the video carried her demeanor, but her actions and appearance reflected something more.. sinister. Nothing like the Nana she knew. Were those inmates.. students? How could that be-- Training her eyes on the screen to the best of her ability, she couldn't help but feel hollowed of any emotion at the moment. She couldn't believe what she was shown, she wouldn't. But all this while, this game was made to pick away at every nerve, every feeling; And everyone in the room knew Jiang-Li was the most sentimentally-oriented, most prone to caving into her emotions. Even so, she still held her ground.
She found that the key to finding courage is through others', people who supported and encouraged her. And no matter what, she wanted to be there to motivate her peers even through these trying times as important people in her life had. To have those doubts present itself visibly by her own actions, Jiang-Li could be responsible for the response it would get. She didn't want to bring her friends down. They've come so far, and those hurdles had come to make them stronger. After all, the smallest change can make the greatest difference.
She let the video cut off, before backing out of her cubicle. Colliding into someone on incident, she didn't seem all too startled. Regaining her balance on whim, she turned to the mystery person.
"Ah, sorry--! I didn't mean to bump inta ya..! But, with the arrival of a new m-motive, how a-about we.. c-cool off a bit? Perhaps take our mind off of the footage for today--.”
“Location is y-you're choice!"
The video displays Nana Yasuda, donning a black business jacket and pencil skirt. The look was certainly not Nana in the slightest, though she fixed that by unbuttoning the top buttons of her blouse. Ripping the viewer’s attention away from her scandalous attire was the sound of the drummer jingling a ring of keys.
“Night night night! Time for ba-ba-bed! File in, file in!”
She stepped to the side, revealing a wall of prison cells. Her fingers continued to play with the keys as a group of unfamiliar students began to file into each cell, finishing up cheerful conversations with one another. As they made their way into their respective cells, Nana looked at the watch on her wrist.
“Ten o’ Clock! Time for bed! We’ll see you all again at seven A.M.! You know the drill!”
She began to walk toward each cell, locking them as she hummed a lively tune.
“Let’s strive for a more hopeful tomorrow! Goodnight!”
The video cuts off.
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
Her words aren’t really specific but at the same time he agrees with them. It’s hard to be specific in such a tricky scenario anyway so he just nods his agreement.
“Maybe it’s some kind of mockery? So close and yet so far? I can’t even begin to comprehend the whys of most of this situation… the classroom and lab, those seemed fitting before you know? Like maybe this was a place to study but his is really– well like grown-up? I don’t see what use we’d have here. Maybe it was some kinda staff room but all the staff are gone… all we have are theories but without much to bolster it I guess they’re not worth much, huh.”
It’s as he’s talking that Jiang-Li begins to mess around with one of the computers. Usually he’d advise against that, you didn’t want some kinda punishment or grim error resulting in your death or something but he’d been so out of it the warning slipped his mind. Really he only came back to reality once she’d finished a picture and laughed. Oh. An art program. Out of all the programs to have… geez, it really didn’t make much sense.
Eh? Try it out? Part of him thought it really wasn’t the time but that part of him quickly quieted itself when he realised in it being ‘not the time’ it was probably exactly the perfect time to indulge in this sort of thing.
“Waaah– that’s not bad Rosa-san. Eh– wait, me? Try it out? … Hm… well, there’s no harm in trying it out, I guess! Sure.”
He’d seen people work with programs like this before; they could do all kinds of cool stuff, touching up photographs and making site designs and all that stuff but he’d never really touched a thing like this before himself… well, she’d tried it out so why not give it a shot?
Since it was his turn, he took a hold of the mouse. He could’ve just grabbed another cubicle but somehow he felt like that would take out part of the magic of it. The kind of, they were here just messing around with it in the now sort of thing. He couldn’t quite put it into elegant words but it felt more like a team activity like this, somehow. What to draw, what to draw… she’d drawn something tropical… ah, he could go for something similar, he guessed… his movements with the mouse are a bit shaky at first but he appears to get used to it with time as he manages to paint something out.
Well there was a reason he wasn’t a Super High School Level Artist but he laughed all the same. Somehow it was nice to still be able to do that.
“P-pfft… hahaha… it’s not very good huh… but it reminds me of home… is it sunny where you live, Rosa-san?”
Home is where the heart is, right? Well, it’s not really the case for him but the sights - the snow - the simple stuff like that he misses. That feels like a lifetime away though. It’s so far off he’s having trouble even picturing it let alone feeling passionately enough to actively crave it.
"Waaah, Irino-kun, that's so beautiful! E-eh? H-home..?"
Her shoulders droop for a bit reminiscing on those memories, but the corners of her lips are tugged upwards by the thought. She stares at the edge of the computer screen, stringing words together with careful regard as to see what would benefit the conversation best pinned under these circumstances.
"Ah.. yes..! It's very sunny d-down there; a little too sunny, should I say. Sometimes, when the heat was so unbearable, we'd often go out and distract ourselves. Suh as.. taking a trip to the seaside! Or frying an egg on a rock. 'Course we couldn't afford ta waste food, with what little we had.." Not wanting to make a spectacle of herself, she quickly changed the subject. She glanced back at the screen, depicting a cabin admist a beautiful, frozen landscape.
"Well, it didn't snow at all where I lived- I'd considered ya lucky, th-though I wouldn't be sure. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to be surrounded by that. With where we come from, I s'ppose we're like polar opposites. Eheh-- -"
Subconsciously, she'd been doodling away; How easy it was to fall into habit. Growing aware of the picture, she knew it was better to provide a substantial explanation for the picture than have it "oh yes, here I am drawing my dead friends subconsciously, that's not strange at all." (Although, that was exactly how it'd been.)
"Ah? Oh, y-yes, Ito-san 'nd Kobayashi-san. I-I thought these two would've gotten along eventually. But I suppose some of us are bound ta have enemies-- I was sure they could have got something going on between them in the future..!"
:v
||TASK 7|| Layers ||OPEN||
The overwhelming depth was enough to make you feel out of place somehow. He didn’t know how long he’d been staring but it was longer than he was comfortable with, in all honesty. He couldn’t help it; when he’d first arrived in this… office (he guessed it was one anyway though it seemed a bit out of place) he was taken by the dark tides on the outside. It was bewitching, as if if spelling something out to him. Something he couldn’t get - something otherwordly. He snaps out of his trance with a bit of jump as he realises someone else is here. That sort of thinking was bewitching in itself - it was too easy to dig yourself a hole, especially with so much to be depressed about. Somehow he had to keep his strength up. He turns to face the new face and makes an effort to step his way over to her. So it was Jiang-Li… when was the last time they’d talked? He couldn’t remember. Time was a bit of a blur these days. He couldn’t even tell how long he’d been out of it.
She seemed… tired? Wait, out of breath? Maybe she’d rushed… or perhaps he was missing something… god, he really needed to kick his mind into gear. What if he missed something important, just standing around like a gormless scarecrow? That couldn’t happen.
“A-are you okay? You seem out of breath… no need to speak so quickly, right? I mean– the room’s not going anywhere. At least, I don’t think so.” he hopes not, is more accurate in this case.
One for each student? He glances around. Geez, he really hadn’t been paying attention here, had he? Kiyoyuki counts up what he can see of the cubicles and then turns back to Jiang-Li with a nod.
“Yeah, it seems that way… just like the classroom, really. Well… kind of… that was a little different but…” he pauses. “It really doesn’t seem like that number’s a coincidence, I mean.”
"Aah? O-oh, Irino-kun..! I-- mm.. seems odd doesn' it? Everything in this room s-seems s-so.. so, in place yet.. feels so out'ta place."
She draws out another breathe before straightening herself out to meet his height.
"The thing that 'as me most bothered is that they'd grant us access to this room, although.. th-there really isn't much ta salvage in this room. I-I mean If there are things set on lock in here, why would they g-give their prisoners admittance to a room that serves somewhat as a storage for confidential files? Or, at leas' that's what it appears ta be. All the files are locked other than that program. Hmm.."
With that she lets a soft hum linger on her lips looking back to the screne, curiosity overtaking the girl. She leans forward, opening the application before toggling with the given features. With the mouse.
"Ah-- Ehe, so this is what it does-! Would you like to try, Irino-kun?"
