uhh he has a couple distant cousins around his age but his only sister is like. four. so n/a???
2. What is/was your characterâs relationship with their mother like?
takeko and ryouji actually have a fairly close relationship!! she was a stay at home mom bc taking direct care of her kids was Important to her since her parents tended to pawn her off to babysitters and nannies, so she tries to involve herself in ryoujiâs life. sometimes he feels sheâs a bit nagging, but theyâve never had any huge fights or anything, and they have a similar sense of humor. she made sure to raise him to be open-minded (ALL WOMEN ARE QUEENS, RYOUJI)
3. What is/was your characterâs relationship with their father like?
gorou is a little more serious in nature than takeko, but he gets along well with ryouji too! heâs affectionately exasperated at his Internet Shenanigans, and they tried to do a lot of dad/son stuff and wound up mutually thinking it was Dumb and just going to see a movie or to the arcade or something. he didnât see his dad as much bc he works but he still makes an effort to spend time with his Son
4. Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?
there was something in deadblog that Really Fucked Him Up even before his execution but alas i am not at liberty to say (the dead kids know tho)

spare change, gum, orange tic tacs, crumpled up receipts and wrappers, rubber bands

heâll dream about stuff that happened that day if he did something fun with his friends, but otherwise not really

yeah, things were Really Tight with money when he was born, but then his dad got a better job and things were more middle-class, and then he got paid for vine stuff so that was like A Lot More Money

less because itâs easier to move around in. he wears the jacket because pockets

around his 20th execution when the thought occurred to him that this might never end, ever

probably some time when he was a kid and went into his parents room crying bc he dreamt about getting vored by a giant frog and they both just held him as he drifted off to sleep

not on its own (heâs seen too many horror movies rip him) but it depends on the context, like if its someone In Real Life Who Got Fucking Shanked In Front Of Him then he is probably not the chillest dude in the room

faces, definitely. he calls people âdudeâ too much

not really, heâs more focused on having a Good Time(TM)

definitely happiness, the success that came with being a viner was more of a side effect of him doing something he loved with his friends. he does like it when ppl like him tho so the success of being a Celebrity is nice

ohhh god idk he had this stuffed cat he carried around with him that gave his parents the idea to Actually give him a real cat

probably ambition. he thinks wisdom is Cool but heâs not a super intellectual guy and ambition is something more relatable+practical+directly related to being happy in his mind
19. What is your characterâs biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
ryouji is a very self-centered person, and not even in a mean-spirited way â he just tends to frame everything around how he feels about it, and what he thinks about things. he likes to make people happy because it makes him feel good, not because of any selfless desire to bring joy into peopleâs lives. before the game, he had some empathy issues when it came to dating and the like because he wouldnât get why things were important to his girlfriends, or why theyâd get upset if he failed to meet certain expectations and just treated them like any of his other friends. he reassured piney during his trial because he wanted to make piney feel better â he didnât even consider the idea that it could irreparably fuck piney up.
he has gotten better at genuinely considering other peopleâs perspectives during the game, but itâs a work in progress.
20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
he doesnât usually compare himself to other people, but with his Murder Hell, heâs started zoning in on how people react to other murderers and victims because he personally feels like he is not exactly the biggest monster of a murderer in the world, but the sheer vitrol he felt he faced in the trial has made him doubt that. so he sorta compares himself to other murderers to try and make himself feel better like Well At Least I Didnât Torture Hamazoe To Death
21. If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?
heâs more of a blamer than anything else lmfao heâs bad at taking responsibility for himself

the biggest thing is def a sense of humor hes shallow

people being disingenuous or directly manipulative, altho thats very Broad itâs hard to get ryouji to dislike you

superficially very quick (he considers so many people his friends lmao), but if u want to, like, actually romance him or get him to be emo around you or something? welcome to slowburn hell. the game has actually made him more willing to open up to people tho bc heâs kind of had to in order to survive

uhh with murder? not very quick but only because heâs kind of a dumbass. i wouldnât say it changes based on how close he is with the person but it would prob make him less likely to consider them idk this is hard

HE THINKS KIDS R SUPER FUN heâll give them high fives and let them play with his phone and generally be more of a fun uncle-type figure than a dad. he............. is not exactly geared towards the paternal lifestyle lmao

heâll try to defuse the situation as quickly as he can. distraction, defending himself, blindly accepting whatever the other person says, whatever he can do to make this uncomfortable situation End. however over the course of the game heâs gotten better at actually ensuring the confrontation is Productive before trying to get out of it
28. How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation?
that is kind of the last thing on his list of tactics tbh unless he was like, literally fighting for his life
29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
he always dreamed of being a big-time film director (along with acting, going to space, being the prime minister of the world, etc). still in progress but heâs getting there!
30. What does your character find repulsive or disgusting?
real person shipping. heâs been on the receiving end of it SOOoOO many times like even just hearing ppl go âoh x and x celebrities would be such a cute coupleâ makes his skin crawl, though heâll never verbalize it. this doesnât apply to like his friends or classmates tho itâs specifically like, writing fics about markiplier and jacksepticeye banging or s/t like that

shooting his shit on the school roof with his best friend isamu on a friday evening as the sun is not quite setting but the sky is still orange, having a Snack, no homo my bro (thereâs not actually romo there but isamu is a fairly physically fit guy and ryouji has gone đđđ internally before when they were growing up, thanks puberty)

barring his execution + the ensuing trauma afterwards, probably when everyone was chewing him out during his trial. heâs never been on the receiving end of so much unfiltered anger/frustration before bc hes always been a likable guy so he was very shaken by that. weenie

depends on what the criticism is? with Practical Things like filming technique heâs def willing to improve, but if its something about his general character he tends to get defensive bc he tends to pretend that problems are not there. if u can actually get it through his thick skull tho heâll try to better himself (he takes Personal Character and General Behavior critiques much more gracefully from his parents because theyâve tried 2 raise him to be willing to improve. he is but the denial of problems tends to be stronger)

part of ryoujiâs talent is pulling off really cool camera tricks with just his phone, so heâs used to trying different methods to get things done. heâs actually quite good at solving certain kinds of puzzles but give him a riddle and hes like uhhhhhhh

like... himself! friendly, joking around, heâs a pretty transparent person

there are very few ppl he dislikes buuut... heâll be superficially polite but inclining more to straight up ignoring you lmao

i stared at the question for like thirty seconds trying to figure out what it meant but... i guess more of a lean towards status? if things are going well then he wants them to remain the same. he doesnât really have an Honor Code or anything like that

heâs gotten nipped by mimi a couple times, he doesnât mind tho

heâs friendly to them! too friendly. heâs the guy who will hold up the line making casual conversation with the cashier someone stop him

before the game, heâd never had any reason to think that he didnât deserve what he wanted? like, he knew heâd have to work hard for it, but he definitely thought heâd be able to achieve his dreams. now, though, he feels like he has to kind of prove to himself and everyone else that He Is Not Just A Dirty Awful Murderer so thanks newly acquired complex

oh he says it very easily. heâll usually mean it in the moment tho, like he wonât say it if heâs not feeling it? he doesnât think itâs some Sacred Phrase of anything. if heâs saying it in like a serious romantic context tho itâs probably accompanied by other stuff that tbh makes him feel way more vulnerable than just saying i love you

WELL I MEAN HEâS BEEN KINDA SUPREMELY FUCKED UP BY MURDER HELL SO... PART OF HIM SOMETIMES THINKS HEâS STILL IN A SIM... MAYBE... OCCASIONALLY...
