WHAT ARE MY EXPECTATIONS FOR MY EXCHANGE
hey what's up? today i'm going to share w/ you and with my future me my expectations for my exchange. i have high hopes for this. and i'm afraid that i'm not going to achive all of it. i think all of us, who are going for exchanges get very excited before the trip. i know that i'm like, couting the minutes. the seconds! today is august 6th and i'm like ''WHATTT? less than a month!!!"
I WANT TO MAKE FRIENDS: here in my country i don't really have a lot of friends. i don't like talking to people or anything like that. and i want it to change, because without friends, the experience of the exchange it's not going to be the same.
I WANT TO MEET NEW PLACES: i want to spend the less time at home as i can. i really want to meet new places, take a lot of pictures and see things that i would never have seen here. (maybe i will post some of those pictures here, maybe...) that's going to change a lot inside of me, my perception of the world is going to chance as well. basically, in my exchange i want to change.
everbody told me to not creat expectations. frist of all, that's impossible and second, why not ? it's good to creat some, not much, but it's good to think, to imagine, to dream, to creat hopes for yourself! people don't want to us to get disapointed and get that. but it's the only way we're going to lear how to deal with it. and that's basically the whole point of going into this experience. changing, growing, learning. :)

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE GOING TO MY EXCHANGE COURSE?
LISTS. that’s pretty much what you should do before ANYTHING in your entire life. but of course this is not just it. WHAT KIND LISTS? lists about clothing, wheather, what you intend to buy before and when you get there. i alredy made a list about all of it so i think i will help a little bit.
HAVE A CUTE NOTEBOOK: is that important? no! but it motivates you to think about the things you want to do. it helps me!
THINK ABOUT THINKS THAT YOU DONT FIND EASY ON YOUR COUNTRY: is that obvious? idk BUT it's very important. you'll probably not have a lot a money to spend during your exchange course so use it wisely. try to find cool, different stores that you will never find back home so you can have memories and also be different from the rest, i mean, that's good, right?
CREAT GOALS: for example, some of my goals is to find a Tim Hortons and have everthing on their menu. (it doesn't matter if your goals are BIG or simple, they need to be the things that are going to make this experience the best of your life. ANOTHER goal is to make as much friends as possible because i want to come back someday, and move out, maybe? so, FRIENDS, that's going to be everthing to me and it needs to be everthing for you as well. memories are not create when you're alone :)
TRY TO FIND THIRFT STORES: here in my city, especifically, i don't find any thirft stores, BUT i love them. i love the fact that those clothes have a history and they are not just one of the billions of other that the industry produces. they're especial and also they're memories. and being a exchange student i think the most important thing is to make memories because it's a very important thing in your life. even though i go in another exchange course i'm NEVER gonna be sixteen again so that's the right time to make friends, go in differents cities and go to THIRFT SHOPPING!! (also, it's CHEAP, and well, that's important.)
GOOGLE YOUR COUNTRY/ CITY/ HOST FAMILY: you're going to visit a whole new culture and i don't think that you should go without knowing anything about the place you're going SOOOO search as most as you can about the place you're going. when you find out the city you're going, your search is going to become more especific and more interesting. try to learn slangs, foods and all the kind stuff that you can to make yourself at home while you're there. if you're going to Japan, for example, the food might be a little bit different from what you're probaly used to, so, try to eat some of the popular dishes every week so you can get used and don't be sick or something while you're there. (it happens a lot! when people have adaptation problems. don't be one of them and SEARCH!) when you know about who you're host family is going to be, talk to them and ask a lot. i think that the more you ask, the more you're going to know. so try to land in their house, not as a stranger or something but as someone that they were expecting their entire lives!
YOUTUBE VIDEOS: yeah, another obvious topic. but yet, some people don't do it. DON'T BE ONE OF THEM!! subscribe in ALL of the channels that talks about the contry you're going and watch them A LOT, it's a very usefull toll for fast and entertaining knowlegde. GO FOR IT!
SO that's it for today... i hope i can help someone with those tips... IF I HELPED YOU, LET ME KNOW, SEND ME A MESSAGE! thanks and see you next time!
