hello and welcome to umbaren : a canon non-compliant and almost entirely headcanoned 𝐊𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐍 oc, originally established march of 2019 by rune. this blog barely recognizes the sequel movies as canon, so please at least skim over the provided lore before interacting.

*     please be aware that vyxsis is deaf and largely non-verbal. he prefers to converse in sign language, but will speak if required.

this is more a note for myself to do this later, but i need to add a section to my rules about signed languages, particularly that just like on earth there are several different variations used in the galaxy, but gsl (galactic sign language) is the most commonly used, just as galactic basic is the most commonly spoken language. for crossovers with say… marvel muses, vex will not know or understand earth-based sign languages. i just think language barriers are fun and adds a little realistic touch to a thread.

ooh, and i should also add that unlike sign languages on earth, gsl isn’t dependent on facial expressions bc y’know... not all alien species can make similar expressions. it depends more on the sharpness or smoothness of the gestures.

vex has also developed his own private sign language to use with the knights. one that can be used with a single hand so that one hand is always available to hold a weapon.
