I apologize! I will find a good place, I assure you, you won’t regret it! Follow me!
[Nods] Admittedly I'm not particularly familiar with this area.
Pardon me for being too forward, but perhaps we could get some coffee together! It’ll be my treat, ma’am!
[Raises an eyebrow] Quite forward, but I can't say I'm opposed to the notion. I'm afraid I don't know any good coffee places, you'll have to lead the way.
Mm, marvellous, thank you. And yourself, sir?
I’m glad to hear that! I’m doing fine, a little tired but nothing coffee won’t fix!
I could go for one myself. I tend to find myself keeping my eyelids open with matchsticks, nowadays.
umbraimpa started following you
Hello, lady Impa! How are you today?
Mm, marvellous, thank you. And yourself, sir?
(( It should be noted that everything prior to this post is now considered archived, as I'll be moving in a new direction with this blog. As a result, any past interactions with Impa are now considered null. The blog is still under construction, but I've edited Impa's bio if you find yourself curious about what has been changed. ))
[Glares at her reflection.] Such bright colours are hardly becoming of a woman my age.
What hour was it now? It was hard to tell after the winter sun had set; too many winter clouds concealed the moon for Impa to gauge the time of night. It was late, she knew - and her body would likely complain tomorrow morning when she rose early again to continue on with the Sheikah duties all festivals brought.
The imprints of her armour were still visible in her skin, indentations Impa could feel in the darkness as she ran her fingertips over the flesh. It felt tighter every time she put it on, as if it didn't constrict her enough the first time she'd ever put it on. Impa could remember getting her finger jammed in her gauntlet prior to the first festival she'd attended, effectively breaking it. Not a happy time. Perhaps the initial injury the armour caused had left a bad taste in her mouth. Perhaps knowing that she would soon be too old to wear it was beginning to weigh on her mind.
Nonsense, Impa thought to herself. You can't be too old when you're the last bloody Sheikah. Pull your socks up, you silly girl. Sighing, she stretched out her shoulders and maneuvered in the darkness to where her bedroll sat waiting for her. Outside, the winter wind howled across the landscape eerily, and Impa shuddered beneath her covers.
theoracleofseasons replied to your post: A fine night. A fine, blustery, miserably cold...
I’m always prepared!
I would expect no less from such a well-travelled young woman.
A fine night. A fine, blustery, miserably cold night, if you happen to be ill-prepared for the weather up north.
Do bundle up.
You do the same, Lady Impa.
I find myself unaffected by all but the most inclement weather, though I appreciate the concern extended.
exalted-desert-rebel replied to your post: A fine night. A fine, blustery, miserably cold...
No, I hate winter weather, and I hate bundling up.
How fortunate it is then that you inhabit a desert.
A fine night. A fine, blustery, miserably cold night, if you happen to be ill-prepared for the weather up north.
Do bundle up.

Jealousy
One of the many elements of Sheikah training was to guard emotions. Emotions could easily be turned against her, Impa knew. It was one of the reasons she never allowed herself to be too motherly towards the princess in the company of others. Impa was certain that one of the reasons she had retained her employment was due to her apparent passive demeanour.
She was having a more difficult time when it came to concealing her emotions towards the Oracle.
Din was a lovely young girl. There was the first issue, of course - Impa was far too many years her senior, though how many years exactly she was unwilling to admit even to herself. It was not an issue she was accustomed to. The second issue was the same as it always was; Opacary.
Impa watched with a barely concealed expression of pain as a young man with red hair - though not quite so red as the Oracle herself - took Din's hand to dance. The expression on the girl's face showed that this was no coincidental happening; the two were familiar, and they were close.
There goes the last bit of convincing I needed, Impa thought to herself. Turning away, she watched the horizon with a blissful smile, clenching her hands into fists as she forced herself not to think.

What do you think you’re doing with that boy? Do you honestly think any good will come of it? Nayru, dear, he’s a shadow. He’s not a monster, but he isn’t human either. Azrael is a finely polished sword, my dear. He may be beautiful to look at and even to hold, but a sword is a sword and you will get hurt.
I don’t feel the need to point out how irresponsible he is currently being with drink, he’s proving that well enough on his own.
Mmm.
*Tightens her lips and narrows her eyes a bit, her voice becoming a little more defensive*
I don’t particularly like the tone you are taking with me. I’ve been in this business for a while now, and have spent years learning how to protect myself and my people and everything I stand for.
So, no. I have not carelessly let him borrow sacred texts, I have not divulged the secrets of the Oracles to him as we lay in bed, I have not let him run rampant through my Sanctuary.
[Narrows her eyes.] It is not your fortitude I doubt. The Oracle is not a title given willy-nilly, and I trust you were chosen for all the right reasons. I would be highly skeptical of rumours of any wrongdoings you may be accused of.
I only fear your lover may not be nearly so trustworthy as yourself.

We’re working on it, there are many things to figure out, and…many questions, I suppose, that need answering.
I appreciate your concern, though.
[Regards her nails thoughtfully.] I don't suppose working on it would include visiting any forgotten libraries, forbidden spellbooks?

7. A passionate kiss
There was a strange beauty about the twili queen that Impa could no longer ignore. Her hands found Midna's face, the texture of her skin beckoning as she felt its ethereal warmth through her gloves. Midna's mouth was soft, but behind her lips were teeth - here was something as deadly as it was beautiful, and Impa could not get enough. She parted the queen's lips with her tongue. Screw propriety, screw class, screw vows. Nothing had felt so good in so long.
