Shad the Nanny | Shad, Dimitri
Shad automatically reached for the girl without considering he hadn’t the foggiest idea what he could DO to help. Or the fact, perhaps, that he never held a toddler before.
He balanced her partly the way Dimitri so expertly had, leaning slightly away from her sharp grin as he passed him into the room. Upon entry, however, as the door shut behind him, the girl smiled up at him and sharply kicked him in the ribs.
“Oof," Shad grunted. She giggled.
Shad flickered a weak smile in return, but promptly yanked her off his waist and held her aloft. He turned toward Dimitri, holding her out with both hands.
"Where shall I…ah…put her?" he asked quickly. The girl giggled, her legs immediately kicking in pinwheel motions through the air, begging to be let down and run.
"Now now," Dimitri said, glancing at the girl while smiling. "Shad is our friend, we have to be nice to our friends, remember?" He said with a laugh, deftly avoiding toys and children as he made his way over to the other side of the room, making sure that his bottle and glass were still pushed back out of reach of the taller children.
"You can just set her down, Shad. She needed a little time out for pushing another child, but I'm sure she's learned her lesson now." He spoke calmly, moving back away from the shelf.
"Children!" He raised his voice to get their attention, and startled the other priestess that had been sitting with a group of them, involved in a book. "This is my friend Shad, he's here to help today." He said with a smile. "Can we say hello to Shad?"
The children loudly exclaimed 'Hello Shad!', save for two young gerudo girls who had re-attached themselves to Dimitri's legs.
"You could read the children a story, or just sit down and play with them. I warn you, several of them have the sniffles, so be aware of that." Dimitri spoke, clasping his hands behind his back as he faced the younger man.
