COVID-19
This pandemic is terrible but we have to find good in times of trouble. For me, it has given me time to reflect, grow and have more self care. I have not had the opportunity to do things that really mattered to me and help me improve. At first, I felt a lot of pressure to do EVERYTHING during this time. To get things that need to be done, to achieve as many milestones while I have the time. But, that made me anxious and stressed out, feeling that I was not doing enough. What I needed was not more, but less. To just do and not expect or plan. Just take a day at a time and be thankful for the extra free time. Just breathe.
To be happy for all that I have achieved. Getting all the home improvement stuff done. Cleaning up the house. Organizing my space. Furthering myself with continuing education. Refinancing. Investing.
But also be joyful in the little things. Spending more time with family and friends online. Catching up with friends that I have not spoken to in a while. Doing yoga daily. Gaining strength and flexibility. Exploring my creativity. Gardening. Cooking.
Responsibilities are always going to be there. Worrying about my job, having enough to tide over the pandemic, mortgages, visa... It is at the back of my mind all the time. Being prepared and planning for the uncertain future is important but not to the point where worry and anxiety gets the best of you. I am trying to learning to just be in the moment and enjoy the present. It is a work in progress.
