and one more thing! in all the articles that have come out post race have really put the picture clear as day. he struggled with the car under-braking and it wasn't due to the brakes exactly

he's still the only driver on the grid that likes to play and overlap the throttle and brake pedals to induce even more rotation into the car but when he tried that with this specific car (post miami) it wouldn't do. it would cost him lap time and serve him either a setup with horrible understeer or a setup with too much front and no rear-end and a completely fucked up deployment map

somehow and in someway, he has managed to get the car back into that very exact place he prefers and was immediately on top i'm just always wowed by the amount of pure talent he has

because you read and read and see and no offense but what all these drivers want from these cars is usually broadly the same but not him he's just a special fucking creature that does and i quote "acrobatics in the car" he is one of the most fascinating drivers this sport has ever seen and what i would give to hand him a car that he likes week in week out

i feel like i haven't talked enough about what insane unfathomable adaptability this guy has

as a driver i genuinely do believe his first and most notable skill is his adaptability and it's not being fairly talked about at all because charles leclerc can drive a god damn tin can if it had wheels

in what is arguably one of the most difficult moments in his career, he's changed something integral to the car that he hasn't in all of his 8 years at the team just to figure it out........then he goes on and wins that very same weekend

wherever and whatever place you will put him, he just crawls out?????? like i do not think there is anyone on the grid that can even compare to his freaky fucking ass not even alonso was ever able to do things like this

Our boys, their handlers and the team spent last weekend at the #BritishGP, helping @northamptonshirepolice at the event.

For Jack and Rolo, their job as Specialist Search Dogs was to sniff, detect and find anything that should not be there in order to keep everyone safe.

It's crazy how the safety of the macarena style wing in it's design philosophy is being called into question when one team using it literally won the race.

Ferrari has spent months testing this wing, and did run into many issues with it during practices which is why they kept delaying bringing it. The version we have of this wing now is a result of a lot of trial and error. It's clearly possible to build this style of wing for performance and safety.

Red Bull on the other hand copied Ferrari and fell short. There were concerns that their version of this wing was better than Ferrari's at first. But it seems that any differences they tried to innovate sacrificed stability and or accuracy.

And to be fair the problems Red Bull has seen with Max's car these last two races might not even be due to the style of the rear wing at all. It could be the thing just isn't closing properly, or the timing is off, or some other factor of their aero altogether.

I guess the main concern from the FIAs perspective would be that if they feel that if more teams try this style of rear wing, how many will get it right in terms of safety? If everyone tries to copy Ferrari and they all fall short on the safety end of things, then I can see how that's a problem.

However, there is nothing saying teams have to try this solution and if it does seem like it's harder to get right than first thought then they should try something else. No one's saying Red Bull or any other team have to use a macarena style wing.

If someone is interested in the strict engineering nerdery Gary Anderson wrote a piece on The Race about this

Banning the Macarena wing on safety concerns because one team had two accidents with it feels scandalous. Considering the kind of people that work on these cars, they should be able to understand if a device is beyond their factory's capabilites - nobody in the midfield even thought about that, even though it would probably help. Mercedes doesn't need it. McLaren, who woke up yesterday with their own project, saw that they weren't ready and benched it. If it's a wing problem, Red Bull should do as Ferrari did after FP1 in China - take it off the car, put the old style wing on, and take it back to the factory until they are 100% sure nothing is going to happen again

(Also let's be real, the FIA let Aston Martin drive around the track even while the vibrations were so bad Fernando couldn't feel his fingers anymore. They don't have much of a leg to stand on)

Now I'm not an expert, but the context of the accidents makes me think it's not (just) a wing problem. They both happened immediately after Red Bull brought their massive chassis upgrade - they almost rebuilt the car from scratch - and in two instances where Max was pushing like crazy (second Q3 run in Austria, 7 seconds behind P2 on softer tyres with 10 laps to go at Silverstone). And they happened only to Max, who we know likes to go extreme with the setup if the car is objectively inferior to the ones around him

I'm more inclined to think that it's more complex than just the wing. For Ferrari's sake, I hope I'm right
