Many Moons Ago [Halvallian Past]
âŠ.Another Night, Another Buck. Oh How MundaneâŠ.    Â
Granted, the nightclub did offer some excitement every blue moon; however, it was rarely enough to quench away the boredom that was growing deep inside of her. As if in stark-contrast to the prevalent postulation that all creatures were habitual by nature, Sapphire viewed the attainment of such continuous tedium as injudicious; potentially lethal in its normalization. After all, idleness might as well have been synonymous with weakness; for the ill-prepared are rarely kept on their toes and thus inevitably fall. As such, determination fueled her disinclination to adopt the role of sheep to the slaughter; even if that meant trekking the wolves den from time to time.
In doing so, she decided to take a gamble and adventure elsewhere for once. Her destination: a local tavern located on the portside of Sin City. A hotspot rumored to be under investigation for supplying intel to Zein forces, specifically information pertaining to the deployment of monsters across different geographical locations. Of course, not much was known about the source of information, nor their retrieval methods. Though, there were plenty of theories circulating the community forums, most of which held no practicality but there were some useful tidbits that caught her attention.
One way or another Iâll get my hands on itâŠ
The following day, fashioned in a tightly-fitted red dress, she arrived at her destination. From noon to evening, she wasted free-time chatting with the locals. Most of which were fishermen from the neighboring districts, who happened to work off the pier. Looking for a good time, as most did, she managed to use her assets in order to gather some additional information regarding the rumored informant. Of course, it was nothing substantial but it was enough to point her in the right direction.
After a few more hours, Sapphire decided to take a step outside, breaking away momentarily to gaze out at the ocean. For a few minutes, she took in the sights and sounds of the area, as her mind began sorting through all the information she had collected until eventually catching a glimpse of something dropping from the sky.
HmmmâŠ. How interesting. I could use a break from the sausage fest, especially since their bone dry in terms of usefulness.
With a gentle smile, she eagerly approached the woman. âNot every day you see an angel fall from the sky. Tell me, do you come here often or is this a fated meeting from heaven itself~?
Being so absorbed into thought, the sudden voice cascaded into her with obscene force. Had this been a few weeks ago she would have jumped out of her skin and accidentally caused the town into a subsequent panic attack. Yet, she would not have dared come out like this at that time, before she had learned enough about the flora and fauna to make due.
Rather, her head tilted to the source. Tsuki had chosen this time particularly for the rumored plant that gave off a vibrant turquoise glow in the twilight. More importantly, she chose this time to avoid people, and yet here she was. Given the location, there was no possible way she wasnât the target of the remarks.
Angel? So she saw the descent. Iâll have to do better next time.
Thumbing a corner of the page she was on into a crease, she slowly cinched her hand until the book gently snapped shut. Her eye danced around, absorbing the details of the woman who had come to her. The outfit she wore in a strict contrast to her own -- firmly hugging the body rather than draped around it. And the colors she chose, vibrant and eye catching, rather than blend-able with a serene environment.
âI am no angel, if you came over here to speak with one I advise you look elsewhere.â Though she already knew that wasnât the intent, she had heard such words before; fun and enlightening meant to impress the receiver. Perhaps back then she would have responded in kind, the thought graced her mind like a stray spark off of flint and tinder.
âIs there something I can do for you? You donât seem the type to wander out here for fun.â
