Within a short period of time, the entire district found itself immersed in an unfathomable manifestation of pandemonium, as creatures decorated in putrescent epithelium continued to drop from the sky. Swelteringly, the portal hanging directly above the nightclub started fragmenting, eventually setting off a series of combustive blasts that lit up the atmospheric sphere around them. Soon debris from nearby buildings began catching fire until incandescently plummeting towards the streets below.
Almost immediately after, embers and acrid smolder began filling the air, forcing the citizens of the city to scatter for cover. In an abundancy, screams of absolute horror bellowed outward, becoming almost deafening in its reverberation, as the horde of monstrosities continued running amuck. Indiscriminately, these creatures began lathering the streets in bone and carnage, as the stench of burning flesh perpetuated on, tickling the nostrils of all those, who were unfortunate enough to catch a whiff of the unpleasant aroma.
Gritting her teeth, Sapphire watched on in revulsion, as both of her hands gripped tightly onto the metal railing that bilaterally wrapped around the rooftop. Even if she hated admitting to it, there was absolutely nothing within her power to prevent the horrendous scene unfolding before her eyes. Likewise, there was nothing in close proximity that would secure her escape from this hellish nightmare. At least, nothing that wouldn’t require making a deal with the devil...
Irritated by the thought, she growled beneath her breath, eventually shifting her violent, narrow-gaze towards her boss, who was currently preoccupied protecting the club from total destruction. Edging closer to the ledge, she sighed, as her right hand lifted up, gently tapping her fingertips along the kinetic barrier that surrounded the building. Taking note of the cracks in the shielding, which were beginning to expand.
It won’t be long. The force field won’t hold forever. Soon we’ll all be shit out of luck especially with whatever the fuck is coming out of that fuck-hole above us. No; there’s no choice in the matter. I have to call him. Even if that means-
Taking in a deep, heavy breath, she turned, as her eyes instantly filled with distraught. For a moment or so, she shifted uncomfortably, as her hands began fidgeting ever-so-slightly against her thighs, unable to calm the tension that was already building from within.
How pathetic…. Is this really the only ace up my sleeve? How fucking humiliating…
Squeezing tightly into her leg, she sighed before eventually reaching down into one of her hidden pockets, pulling out small cellular device used for specific contacts. After dialing in a string of numbers, she lifted the phone up, waiting desperately for the man to answer. When he finally did, she hesitated once more, as if something was caught in her throat, preventing her from muttering that single phrase. A phrase he had once predicted she’d inevitably speak aloud, almost as if being puppeteered into saying it. Words, although simplistic in its verbiage, she knew she’d regret in saying for this is always a price to be had.
“I need your help….Souren.” @originofstillness
Inside the building, patrons of the nightclub were faced with their own gruesome nightmare, as the horde quickly overtook the first few floors. Of course, not everyone watched on in horror like helpless sheep. Instead, some took up arms and decided to fight back against the undead monstrosities that had entered. But, unfortunately, despite their efforts nothing could have prepared them for the onslaught of death that awaited them.
“H-heroes… C-ca-can you hear me? I assume you’re out there somewhere... Oh god… they just stormed the building I’m in... Please if you can hear me...answer... I don’t want to die…" For a moment, the woman broke into violent sobs, as she clutched tightly to the radio in her hand. It was luck that she found the device. Luck that she managed to escape with it. But luck was beginning to run out.
With a few suffocating breaths, she continued on, speaking through the microphone. “Please, listen to me very carefully. My name is Rachel. I’m a waitress that works in the main lobby of nightingale. Its uh restaurant located on on 4th Street. Right... you probably don’t know where that’s at... Either way. You need to find it. Because...I... I....have an idea. I don’t know if it’ll work. But on the 10th floor of the building I’m in there’s a supply closet filled with weaponry. There’s also a filing cabinet with tons of keys inside. Search for a key shaped as skull and take it with you. From there, you need to hurry to the third floor of the library. The library is located two blocks away from where I’m at, which is about four blocks away from the nightclub. Once you make it to the third floor there should be a set of offices. Head to the right-wing and use the key. Inside there will be tons of books. I can’t remember which shelf its on but there’s a book on necromancy I remember. It’s a long shot but I think there’s a way to momentarily demobilize these creatures. Please… I beg of you… hurry…. before its too late.” With that, the transmission ended, leaving in its wake static.
