“Tell me about it. I would go deep into it but my brain is not on a functionin’ level at the moment.” Hazel-Green hues rolled themselves at the young male’s theatrics. Stonie loved hanging out with Lucky, he was one of the most (more like a handful) down the earth person she knew. There was no judgment with him, just carefree thoughts and expansive imagination. No wonder why he chose to have an undeniable passion for the cinematic art form. “Well…thank you! I’ll take that as some weird compliment.” She watched for a minute before reacting to his response to her question. Seven years without a homecooked meal? Stonie couldn’t imagine. Grabbing the phone out of his hand and hanging it up, she threw it on the couch and got up. “That changes now, sweetie. ‘Cause chef Stonie has something in mind you just might enjoy.” She spoke, heading towards the kitchen. Looking in the fridge and freezer, she was taken aback by its emptiness. “Lucky, what the fuck?”

        ❝  neither  is  mine.  i’m  surprised  i’m  even  capable  of  holding  this  conversation  right  now.  ❞  lofty  build  sinking  lazily  into  the  couch,  a  soft  smirk  tugs  at  his  lips  as  stonie’s  captivating  eyes  roll  to  the  back  of  her  head.  if  he  couldn’t  talk  to  anyone  else,  he  could  talk  to  stonie  about  the  things  that  he  thought  about.  and  usually  she’d respond  to  it  with  an  open  mind.  he  had  someone  to  bounce  all  of  his  ideas  off  of  and  actually  get  constructive  feedback  from.  so  she  did  matter  more  to  him  than  he  let  off.  ❝  you’re  welcome.  you’d  be  the  first  to  get  any  kind  of  compliment  from  me  in  a  long  time.  ❞  he  watches  her  waltz  to  the kitchen,  already  aware  of  the  disappointment  she’d  face.  he  was  really  serious  when  he  said  he  hadn’t  had  a  home-cooked  meal  in  years.  not  anything  that  took  more  effort  than  a  packet  of  ramen  noodles.  ❝  yeah,  i  know.  ❞  picking  up  the  bong  from  the  table,  lucky  shrugs  whilst  taking  a  rip  from  it.   ❝  i   don’t  even  remember  what  the  inside  of  a  grocery  store  looks  like.  ❞  he  manages  through  a  cough.  what  food  items  he  did  have,  he’d  gotten  from  a  nearby convenient.

       of course she missed how they use to be. they were the couple who could never keep their hands off of one another. pda was a second language to them. now? lucky and claudia barely took a second glance at one another. apart of her hated that but another part of her feed off of their madness. it was addicting. drug like. claudia’s face was contoured with sadness. her eyebrows pinching together as she shook her head, “you did this to us.” hands cupping his cheeks as she stared into his eyes. claudia blamed lucky for their destruction. “why can’t we be like this when you’re sober? why can’t you want me when you’re sober?” the brunette question. basically pleading to him. 

       their  relationship  in  the  beginning  was  the  equivalent  of  a  bunch  of  fireworks  going  off  —  thrilling,  explosive,  exciting  —  but  somewhere  during  that,  that  fuse  was  extinguished  by  lucky’s  pessimism  and  insecurities.  arguments  about  claudia’s  dancing  arose  that  initially  he  would’ve  never  even  entertained,  and  the  tension  it  formed  between  them  was  the  reason  why  they  were  so  distant  now.  so  he  understands  the  anger  and  spite  in  her  tone  as  she  speaks  to  him.  ❝  i know.  ❞  lucky  mutters,  eyes  glazed  and  raven  strays  rocking  softly  as  he  shakes  his  head.    ❝  because  i  don’t  realize  what  i’ve  done  to  you  until  i’m  forced  to  think  about  it,  claudia.  ❞

       long,  calloused  fingers  grip  the  neck  of  the  bottle  as  though  it’s  all  he  has  left  to  cling  onto. emotions  whirl  in  his  mind  and  his  resolve  weakens  more  gradually  by  the  second.  drinking  completely  defeated  the  purpose  for  him  —  he  drank  to  numb  himself,  but  it  only  brought  more  feelings  to  the  surface.  dark,  baggy  eyes  look  up  to  claudia,  and  a  huff  passes  his  lips.   ❝  c’mere.  ❞  he  mutters,  tapping  his  lap.  it’s  probably  surprising  that  he  even  beckoned  her  at  all,  let  alone  ask  her  to  be  close  to  him.  usually,  when  he  was  in  a  more  sober  state  of  mind,  he  would  travel  through  their  studio  apartment  as  though  she  didn’t  exist.  but  now  he  needed  a  substitute  to  fill  the  void  where  the  alcohol  didn’t.

It was funny how her under the influence-self was so free and outspoken with the odd thoughts that bounced around her head from time to time. Although her sober-self was outspoken, but she kept things like this to herself due to there being a time and place for everything. How would she look bossing models around all day and talking about aliens in the process? “Oh yeah? What makes me so special, huh?” She raised an eyebrow at the male in mild curiosity. Seeing him speed-dial the Chinese restaurant, she shook her head. “When was the last time you’ve had a home cooked meal?”

                   ❝  this  is  some  hard-hitting  shit,  dude.  ❞  lucky  makes  a  ‘boom’  noise,  a  gesture  portraying  his  head  exploding  from  trying  to  process  the  information.  stonie  was  the  most  appealing  to  have  these  kind  of  bizarre  conversations  with,  because  beneath  the  glamorized  exterior,  she  was  a  weirdo  just  like  him.  and  that’s  why  they  meshed  so  well.  ❝  i  mean,  yanno.  you’re  not —... the worst person to be around.  ❞  he  snickers,  rubbing  a  tattoo on  his  arm  as  he awaits  an  answer from  the  other  line.  he  wasn’t  very  skilled  at  projecting  any  emotions   other   than   anger  or  disinterest  unless  it  had  to  do  with  film.  lucky  ponders  her question,  and  he  can’t  think  back  to  the  last  time  he  at  something  that  wasn’t  fast  food  or  microwave  dinners.  ❝  uh...  when  i  was  like,  fifteen  or  somethin’?  ❞

But it wasn’t as taboo of a topic if she was sober. Stonie was actually into subjects such as this. She was a self-proclaimed conspiracy theorist after all. The raven-haired female raised her perfectly manicured hand and placed it on his shoulder, shoving him playfully as he laughed before joining in. “Am I paying for it? If not, I love to.” She joked. It really didn’t matter to her, she could afford that and then some. 

                    ❝  are  you  kiddin’ me?  these  fuckers  are  sneakier  than  i  thought.  ❞  he  snorts,  awe-stricken  by  her  statement.  lucky  discusses  anything  that  comes  to  mind  at  anytime.  he  doesn’t  even  try  to  stop  himself  and  analyze  the  things  he’s  thinking  before  he says  them —  the  filter  between  his  brain  and  mouth  is  completely  nonexistent,  which  is  both  a  good  and  bad trait  to  have.  mostly  bad  for  lucky,  though,  considering  most  of  his  thoughts  are  either  inappropriate  or  rude.  ❝  nah,  i  wouldn’t  ask  you  to  pay.  i’m  not  that  much  of  a  dick.  well,  i  am,  but  —  not  to  you. ❞  the  noiret  chuckles,  pressing  the  ‘9′ on  his phone  and  immediately  being  sent  into  contact  with  the  nearest  chincese restaurant.  the  fact  that  he  has  theme  on  speed-dial  is  probably  sad,  but  cooking  isn’t  his  thing.

Stonie’s mind stalled on his question, the excessive marijuana smoke getting to her. “I think they exist, why else would the government act sketchy as fuck every time they’re brought up?” Her hazel-green hues were glazed over as her mood was elevated at its highest point, especially from where it was earlier. Taking the hit from the bowl once more, she leaned back in her seat and stared off into space. “Can you feel your face? Cause I don’t I got one right now.”
