so, big thoughts about the first three episodes of x-men 97 season 2 after the first watch

episode one:
i said this in a separate post, but i LOVE mother askan's characterization. it leaves a lot of room to bring her back as rachel, which I hope they do in the future, but even if they don't, they teased her phoenix connections, showed her being powerful, and generally just like serving.
i've seen a few mixed opinions, but i'm personally a fan of them using the uncanny x-force horsemen. they needed one off horsemen, so using less high profile characters makes sense.
the voice acting was like particularly amazing in this episode. like it always is, but just the acting overall was like stellar
morph and wolverine each spoke like three times, which is fine, the episode didn't need to focus on them, but it would have been nice to see forge at least comment on wolverine having bone claws now.
i really enjoy bits of the costume design for the wasteland. jean's scarf making her shirt look like an x is such a good detail.
also, were they building danger at the start?
episode two:
i think this was my favorite episode out of the three.
the theming of this episode is really good. the x-force intro really went a long way in reinforcing the "x-men are gone" idea, even when we saw many of them just the episode prior.
EMMA. fierce. her characterization was perfect. unapologetic, flirtatious, and aware. i hope we see more of her this season, but even if we don't, this is a godo way to set up more future involvement.
polaris was also done super well. i like how much we are focusing on her, and yes im biased, but i dont care im allowed to have bias. my prediciton is that she will leasve x-factor (obviously), and that siryn/s introduction will be as her replacement.
jubilee being imprisoned really reminded me of the episode of wolverine and the x-men when nightcrawler was brought to the genoshan prison.
so is jubilee wearing a wig..? or like how did she grow her pixie cut into a bob so fast....
episode three:
I don't want to really say all my thoughts about this episode until the second part is out, but I will say I really enjoyed a lot of this episode.
I don’t CARE about Charles Xavier I hope Charles Xavier DIES I’m so SICK of reading New Mutants for the New Mutants and getting TRICKED into reading about CHARLES XAVIER
