These Wenclair Fics DESERVE to be celebrated! (PART 1?)
I go through a lot of recs for Wenclair, but seldom spotted these. These fics are the ones that made me FEEL viscerally. I've raged, wrecked a havoc and have been giddy like I went over the moon when I've read these fics. Buckle up, this is gonna be a long post😂 Read the warnings, ratings and completion status beforehand.
First off, A Pyre, Extinguished by LePetitCroissant. It's the last installation of a four part series but THIS FIC. This fic made me go through a spectrum of emotions. The good ones. It made me fall in love with their relationship. The way they are so considerate of and vulnerable with each other made me wanna bash my head on a wall. And I love, love, absolutely and wholeheartedly love Wednesday in this.
the nature of idiosyncrasies by @diudiudiu. If you're okay with explicit fics and Omegaverse, this fic will change your opinions about relationships and the ABO society in general. This was the most emotionally complex fic I've ever come across and it still makes me emotional when I reread it. This author has tremendously delivered the most complex pairing of Wenclair I have ever read. I'm just in awe of their works and their writing style. Another fic on the same realm with a different plot (which is just as angsty with spots of fluff) is our immeasurable ties that bind, I will literally even wait for an eternity to read the rest of it.
This fic, what was i made for (and does it even matter) based on the movie Elf, 2003 is one of the best I've read in the holiday genre. The author made me feel so much when I read a montage about Enid. It was really short but it hit the right emotion. I would love to write like that one day.
I'm just envious that none of the celebrity dating scandals I've read IRL were as beautiful as yours, eurydice by hanjisgirlfriend. Like this was my undoing. The letters that they wrote to each other melted my heart and Enid's last letter, holy shit, I just zoned out of the world after reading it. Such tender love, idk what else to say. Another good one that deeply reminded me of my cherished high school days were curtain call, the little joys found in doing something together and the moments shared with friends were so amplified, it's definitely worth the read (oh and I just CAN'T stop thinking about a Pride and Prejudice AU with Wenclair now since Wednesday would make such a handsome Darcy :') ) I would die for a childhood best friends turned lovers Wenclair fic (with Wednesday being the misanthrope and Enid the social butterfly) and sandbox love just happens to be that.
You might know @raven-moon33 for their legendary works like AKBAON (which is a fantastic read, old or new), but Enid and the Hummers, that's dream material literally. It came up in my dream once, not even kidding. Those who love Addams Family mafia with a bonus of speakeasy singer Enid and gorgeous song recommendations, highly recommend. Imaginary Friends, though abandoned (since Author decided to make it an original fiction, kudos to them) is a beast of its own. With just four chapters, it still has my whole heart. I just love an unexposed Wednesday being bombarded with platonic love by Enid and tackling feelings and emotions in her own resolute, charming way.
My most favourite author @boojangs is known for her Home and Away Universe (which is the fanon Wednesday S2&3 for me right now) and To Dance with Wolves (YEAH LET'S NOT START WITH THIS OR I'LL SCREAM cause I love this to bits 😭) but the first fic that made me cry, scream, throw up and fall in love with her Wenclair was Blood in the Snow. I just love to see them care for each other during desperate, dangerous times and they were amazing in this. This has the potential to be canon, even.
When you can't just choose one fic, you know how amazing the author is. Literally everything by @homicydlgoth. I love the way she writes, I literally look up to her. The nights I've spent in a emotional haze after reading these fics>>>
The one fic that made me so invested in Red, White and Royal Blue AU which made me actually read the book was Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Princess by poolofsouls. The red room scene gave me a cardiac arrest 😂. And I just love the Vada Cavellification of Wednesday here, it suits her so much I don't even care she's OOC. And Enid being a posh princess with a sexy accent lol. The emails they sent to each other were top tier, no words. I could only hope the author continues this fic someday :)
I always love reading a heliamphora fic since it takes a while for me to read it enjoyably (they are literally proses) and I learn a lot of new stuff. But Spine is something terrific. It's something I have been yearning to read. Feral Enid Sinclair is GOALS and I just love that Enid is the mysterious one and Wednesday gets to be impressed and unravel (and fall in love with her so visibly) the mystery here. The recent chapter blew me away :') Something about Enid being a barely restrained beast and a protective softie for Weds & Eugene gives me butterflies ♥️
Let me preface by saying, I'm INSANELY OBSESSED with reunion fics. And, i could never give you peace by moongoldrush is MY JAM. And when I found this one, I devoured it and it was absolutely delicious 😂 Avant Garde icon Enid Sinclair and Cello Genius Wednesday being societal icons? Chef's kiss.
Reunion fic + Abrupt Separation + Trauma + ABSOLUTE PINING? I will cry. Poe Cup Worth Cheering For by @the-merchant00 made me so goddamn emotional from the first few paragraphs. And then, you're telling me I'm getting a Triwizard Tournament Wenclair version? [MY INNER CHILD IS WEEPING FOR THIS] AND THE YULE BALL IS GONNA BE THERE? With all this delicate precious yearning and angst? I'm dead, y'all.
I love it when I get to read a full, nicely fleshed out strangers to roommates to friends to crushes to lovers Wenclair, since the transition is so beautiful. I love seeing Enid getting used to Wednesday being Wednesday (and being absolutely fond of it); seeing Wednesday tolerating Enid's antics to looking forward to them (and her, a lot) 😂 and all the jealousy and pining oh god.. And all of this in a College AU? this is my comfort spot. Stars and the Dark Spaces Between by politecapybara encapsulates this so magically.
A cheeky little podcast fic with Enid leading a couple of jokers (to hell) whose next episode is about the Addams? Hell yeah. This fic was so hilarious, I laughed my ass out in the last chapter. The boys speculating about Enid's husband had me hooting in laughter. Werewolves Made With Woe by omnical was a comedic masterpiece.
I actually have lots more to mention but word limit!! Might make another post. Anyways, live, laugh, love Wenclair 🩷🖤
