hello darkest dungeoneers. thanks to unpopular opinion i have decided i will start posting my dreadful tierlists to tumblr . all opinions are objectively correct and i will not be accepting sugestions or criticisms. (joke)
today's tierlist atrocity victim: singing
Some OC stuff!
Here is an article from NPR about it (May 22, 2026):
Carolina Milanesi, an independent technology analyst, said Google is trying to make its cash cow business — search — richer and more personalized, and it will make shopping easier. But there is a risk that users may have fewer choices about what to click. "Right now it's: I ask a question, I get a bunch of answers and I feel that I'm in control as to which answer I take, or if I'm looking for something, which product I'm going to end up buying. That is going to be less so going forward," she said. Milanesi envisions AI-enabled search and agents proposing products to consumers — perhaps even those they have requested — but with less clarity or choice around where it's coming from. "If you're going to say: 'I want a pair of Jordans, go find them,' you're not necessarily sure what steps have been taken and whether the AI has used a source or a store that was paid for and therefore came up in the search results," she said, "or if AI actually went and did their due diligence and picked the best for me as a customer."
And here's one from Time magazine (May 20, 2026):
While Google already has “AI Mode,” the company will now power the whole search bar through its new Gemini 3.5 Flash model. Instead of the classic list of blue links, Google Search will now also generate a custom page with an AI-generated summary of what you’re searching about, which will then trigger a conversation with AI Mode on the main page, allowing users to ask follow-up questions—similar to the kind of layout you would see when opening ChatGPT.
And a little more from Time's article on how this may affect the websites that we are trying to search for:
When Google first started implementing AI-assisted results, news publishers warned of “catastrophic” impacts on the industry, much of which relies on Google search to drive users to their websites. Last year, news websites saw significant traffic declines as chatbots increasingly replaced Google search as the primary way to find sites and ask questions. Small businesses also noted drops in traffic to their sites from Google, which has traditionally delivered customers. Lily Ray, vice president of SEO strategy & research at Amsive, a digital marketing agency, warned as early as last year that Google’s planned changes to search are “going to have a devastating impact on the Internet.” “It will severely cut into the main source of revenue for most publishers and it will disincentivize content creators who rely on organic search traffic, which is millions of websites, maybe more,” she told Technology Magazine.
noai.duckduckgo.com blocks all AI content in search results automatically
It's a very difficult one. Do you have any suggestions on who I should draw next in the series?
whole house mad
make him Bugs! your honourr …
it could be my intense paranoia speaking but i don't really like how hostile the darkest dungeon fandom is starting to feel compared to how it was a year or so ago when i first joined . something in the air has changed and i don't like it . I think we might need to have a conversation about how there's this feeling of competition on who can have the deepest/most complex interpretation of a character and while i agree that these character discussions can and should exist as a sign of a willingness to delve into intellectual discussions, there is this feeling im getting that people are beginning to devalue and almost insult other people's work just because it isn't "deep enough"
When it comes to myself and how i feel affected , when i first joined the community, character exploration was something i did for fun out of genuine love for the dd characters. I loved making fluffy/moe shallow art while i talked about their deeper characteristics with close friends. Nowadays i feel forced to prove in some way or another that i see the characters beyond the artworks/writings i make for fun and to put on some kind of performance, and that's not something i feel is healthy for me or anyone else who might be feeling the same way 🧠
Ok. Disregard a bit of prev
I think we need to address an issue of animosity and hostility IN GENERAL within the darkest dungeon community because it has come to my attention that people posting more controversial in depth takes are receiving anonymous hate messages among other forms of harassment which is absolutely unacceptable .
I understand that certain characters can be very personal to some people, but that does not fucking give you the right to harass and send hate mail to people posting those less palatable controversial takes.
I think we can all do better and make the dd community a better place where our headcanons and interpretations bring us together rather than apart. It is 2026, we should be able to have proper discussions over characters and the capacity to block and move on if those conversations do not lead to anything productive.

Reynauld and Damian are 2 sides of the same coin: having a saviour complex where they both delusionally think they're helping ppl but they're actually not. 9/10 times they're making the situation worse.
I'd argue that's why Reynauld feels drawn to Dismas. Reynauld genuinely sees Dismas as a broken soul who needs "guided back to the light" and it's his job to do it.
Except Dismas isn't having any of that and scoffs at the mere notion of needing saved by a Crusader of all ppl. Dismas would rather slit his own throat than allow that to happen.
I don't think Reynauld has had very many encounters with "ppl beneath him" who actively talked back against his "authority" and stand by their words.
Reynauld would feel humiliated and to humiliate him is to humiliate the Light (like I said mf is delusional), so that's where I see Reynauld's extreme contempt/disdain for Dismas mainly comes from (among other things I've mentioned in the past).
Dismas remains largely unbothered by Reynauld's bullshit tho imo. In fact, I think he revels in pissing Reynauld off cuz it's just too easy–
he's very polite
