@chilchucks-timbs
I just love *clenches fist* talking about character analysis and why characters act the way they do. It’s supremely satisfying to figure out motivations of characters and see how that ties into their core nature and how they perceive the world around them.
If Deku had left UA for most of April, then where did he sleep for that time period...?
I know he must've slept the bare minimum amount to keep him from collapsing, and he was moving around a lot, but I just realised someth heartbreaking...
He might've gotten himself to sleep on the streets. I doubt there would've been many decently sized, abandoned buildings that weren't occupied by some gangs / ppl who refused to take shelter at UA or equivalent places, or used as hideouts for pros when they went out for a mission. Keeping in mind that Deku wanted to stay away from everyone to 'avoid putting them in danger', he would've kept his distance from those places instead of staying with them (unless ofc one of the places was attacked, in which case he'd help out).
Like if he were to avoid ppl, the only places he'd have available to sleep are... nowhere. Nowhere remotely safe, at least.
One day, he's lying Inside the fragmented remains of what used to be an office building, glass shards from the broken windows scattered across the floor he lies on. The next day, he's leaning against a metal fence, or a brick wall, or a lamppost. The day after, he's lying on a public bench, heavy rain splashing onto the surface and soaking his frayed costume. He only has his cape to keep him warm, but even that is soaked, so the weight of the water pulls him down and makes him feel colder. He can't rest his head properly with his mask on, but he refuses to take it off and risk compromising his identity.
(Sorry for the sad descriptive writing...) What do you think he did when he wasn't fighting? Where do you think he stayed?
Ok extra context from your friendly neighborhood Master's Degree holding archivist:
Archives are "curated" according to what's called a "collection policy". That means a policy that dictates what you collect; usually along a theme. For example at the university I used to work at the collection policy was to collect archival material pertaining to the local area and its history/important figures. At the historic home I currently work at, the collection policy covers materials pertaining to the person who lived at the house.
AO3 collects fan works and original writing. That's it. That's how they "curate". They don't allow a copy paste of published works (for legal reasons) and they don't allow commissioned works (for legal reasons) . Everything else that falls under fan works and original writing is part of their collection policy. Everything. That's how archives work.
Librarian for 6+ years with an archival background, the entire premise of the initial argument is laughably untrue anyway.
Like yeah, a master's in library science is a prerequisite for most existing library/archival jobs, but any ham-and-egger who wants to start their own archive is allowed to do that, there's no High Council of Archivists who's going to swing by to check your credentials and shut you down if you're not properly licensed. The creators of the archive are highly qualified with the academic credentials to back it up, but even if they weren't Oakly would still be wrong.
adding a blank emoji to my discord server might be the best thing to ever happen to text communication. asynchronous digital equivalent of hanging out in a room with your friends in silence. let's all nothing together
(no beers in) I lack a lot of the traits people typically define as human and on occasion it haunts me

truly anything can be good if you do enough textual analysis
This is what that one post was taking about.
You can be as offended as possible about the language used, or you can look at the actual intent behind the words.
This man grew up in a time when trans people used that word for themselves. He probably hung out with a few often enough and just absorbed the language.
He was very much using it in a positive context. The barista he’s referring too is probably the only one that makes his favorite drink just right.
This is why Queer elders get so annoyed with the younger members of the community. Too focused on policing the terms people use while there are far bigger problems we are all dealing with.
#this is all true#baby gays PLEASE learn that the words you scream at people online for are still in active use AMONG OUR COMMUNITY IN REAL LIFE#there are trans people who refer to themselves as trannies & transssexuals. there are lesbians who call themselves bulldykes. gay men who#call ourselves faggots. and it's done not in a self-effacing way but in honest joy and reclamation and it is NOT your place as#self-appointed keyboard warriors to bitch at us to stop. YOU'RE the new ones here. learn the culture if you want to survive.#and make the fucking effort to go meet queer people older than 20 in meatspace for FUCK'S sake#i get that you didn't get the trial by fire that the rest of us got but we'll be goddamned if we're gonna let you tell us we're not allowed#to be in OUR spaces smelling like smoke#old man yells at cloud#queerdom#trans matters#twitter dot com#blog together queue alone
This.
I'm 30something and new(a year and change) to my transition and you can pry tranny from my cold dead hands.
I'm also a gay man and you can pull faggot out of my clenched teeth.
I stood on the outside for decades like an orphan in the rain but I never stopped fighting the good fight as an "ally" and now I'm inside I will say and do whatever I fucking want forever because those words feel right on me.
It's fun and it's sexy and its mine and just fuck all the way off. I didn't walk alone through the dark for 25 years to get here to be told by angry children with anxiety what I am not allowed to do.
This is part of what "kill the cop in your head" means, btw.
Stop looking for Rules to follow or punish people for not following, pay the most attention to actions, intentions, and consequences.
