"Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I’ll choke you with the same hand I fed you with."

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
I Saw Water - Tigers Jaw But me, well of course I liked you Have time for me? I don’t expect you to
Scott relaxed his tense muscles and leaned forward on the grocery cart and he attempted a hint of a smile to make himself feel better. He still couldn’t quite place his finger on what was so different about this girl, but he supposed it didn’t matter, and maybe it was just the fact that she seemed so…out of touch with everything around them both. He noticed an old woman behind her glaring at him and he was taken aback, offended as the old lady’s cold gaze.
He laughed at Nova and shook his head, “Sorry, my name is Scott. It’s nice to meet you, Nova. Have we met before though?” He paused. “I feel like I should know you.”
She had never met him in her life. Or...her...past life...or whatever. Not that she could remember, but somehow there was a small and sharp feeling in the back of her head that told her she had seen this shaggy looking American before. If only for a second, if only in the worst of situations, she had seen him at least once. But that would be crazy. That wouldn't make sense and she'd have to explain more than just the fact that she was a ghost.
"I don't think so?" She decided, dawning a look of confusion. She was always lying, always blurring the truth and hiding the facts, but for some reason she felt a churning in her stomach. Like Scott didn't deserve to be lied to.
Scott looked around the grocery aisle nervously and back at the girl in front of him. Something about her was off, and he felt a strange connection, like he knew her from somewhere, but he was absolutely sure he didn’t recognize her face. His first though was confusion and then he was impressed with how fucking punk she looked. “Of course I can see you?” His tone was inquisitive, though he was really asking himself more than her. He couldn’t help but look at her, he felt like if he didn’t she would suddenly be gone, another figment of his imagination, or one of the monsters he was sometimes attacked by. “I-I just…I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude,” He sighed and furrowed his eyebrows. “I’ll just leave if you want, I’m sorry. I’m such a fucking asshole and a creep, I’ll go.” He grabbed the handles of his grocery cart tightly.
Nova couldn't help but chuckle. She loved seeing anybody flustered, but it was an added plus that this guy self deprecated himself in the process. "It's okay, really. Just not used to having a hole stared through me." Which wasn't a lie. No one ever really noticed her, even when she was alive, and being dead even made it feel more strange. She felt a bit flattered that she was stare worthy, especially since he seemed to be looking at her get up in appreciation, not confusion or disgust.she glanced sideways, seeing a few people staring at Scott strangely. This made her smirk a little. "Hello, Asshole Creep, I'm Nova."

"So you can see me." Nova had learned stop saying this like a question, and stating it like a fact. Of course this stranger could see her, it was just the fact that he was staring at her at all that was concerning. To him she was just some normal girl, so why was she the subject to his gaze? They were both inside a grocery store. He probably had a reason, whereas she was trying to move cereal boxes like some strange ghost training excercise...She supposed they were both a bit weird.
"Uh...did you need anything or? Do you usually stare at strangers in the cereal isle?"
It did no good to cry, she had learned that early on. She had also learned that every time she tried to make someone aware of something in her life, the situation just got worse. Consequently it was up to her to solve her problems by herself, using whatever method deemed necessary.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson (via eldurinna-n)
I’ve always felt a burning desire to upload this photoset of Rooney Mara portraying Lisbeth Salander because I can never find all these pictures together.
{I’m assuming it’s a person.}
I didn’t really see any other reason that seemed to fit the picture. People didn’t stick around as ghosts for anything less than an attachment to another person who was still living.
Of course, that’s what I assumed. I was no ghost, so my circumstances were most likely different.
"When I was alive, I didn't really know anybody. My parents sucked ass and my boyfriend turned out to be an ass hole involved in my murder. I don't...get attached, ya know? At least I didn't think I was the kind of person who did." If she kept talking about herself this undead guy was gonna wish he was dead.
"Do you wish you were dead? Instead of a zombie, I mean?"
I had to think on that for a good long while. The silence I gave off may have, at one point, gave off the impression that I’d simply zoned out. But my thoughts were with me, and eventually I spoke up again.
{I suppose I would have to stay, yes. It would be a shame to pass up an opportunity for something I’d missed during my actual life.}
I was curious now, however. What exactly was it that was keeping her here…?
Right. Okay, so at least now he understood where she was coming from. Not that she necessarily wanted to explain herself any further. It was like an entirely new experience. She had never been dead and had never been more alive.
"I bet you're wondering what would make someone prefer permanently tortured life on earth instead of heavenly bliss." She wasn't going to directly answer unless he agreed to this statement. No need delving into things she didn't have to.
Killed her.
So she was murdered. Of all things, that was the thing that surprised me the least. It always seemed like those who were killed unjustly were fated to wander the earth as ghosts.
But to happen to someone like her.. She seemed like an unlikely victim.
{Something keeping you grounded..?}
That part, I didn’t understand. If you knew what had killed you.. or rather, who, would it not make more sense to simply let go and be at peace?
Nova took a deep breath, thinking about her words, something she rarely ever did. This was an exception, of course, because she was trying to explain to an undead zombie that she had fallen in love with a married man and was too selfish to leave him the hell alone...the more she thought about it, the more it sounded like some sort of haunting.
"Y'know in all those movies about ghosts...they make it out like you're stuck because you're attached to something from the past. They don't really talk about...getting attached to things while you're there. I mean, what if you were just waiting for your door, or Death, or whoever takes you to wherever the hell you go...and you find something better that you never saw while you were alive? Would you stay?"
