Time to Review: More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer
Goodreads Summary:
Rev Fletcher is battling the demons of his past. But with loving adoptive parents by his side, he’s managed to keep them at bay…until he gets a letter from his abusive father and the trauma of his childhood comes hurtling back.
Emma Blue spends her time perfecting the computer game she built from scratch, rather than facing her parents’ crumbling marriage. She can solve any problem with the right code, but when an online troll’s harassment escalates, she’s truly afraid.
When Rev and Emma meet, they both long to lift the burden of their secrets and bond instantly over their shared turmoil. But when their situations turn dangerous, their trust in each other will be tested in ways they never expected.
Rapid Fire Review
*SCREAMING*
This book is an anxiety NIGHTMARE
The whole thing in this book is that these two kids have very real threats who they cannot see and cannot stop
It made me SO AFRAID for my future children to get on the internet (be careful!!!!!!!!!!!)
The whole time all I could think was TALK TO YOUR PARENTS
I’ve seen other books that says this book is romantic and that might be true
The characters are GREAT wow wow great internal conflicts in addition to the very scary external conflicts
Good writing overall I started reading the companion book Letters to the Lost (which you don’t have to read for this one) (and is much less stressful)
But oh my god hit me up for trigger warnings if you are going to read this
7/10 would read again now that i know how it ends
