Middle Man came out very nicely. I found myself having too much fun while play testing and it made the deadline come up a lot faster than anticipated. Regardless, with only a week to plan and build the game as well as learning modeling from scratch basically. Im proud of the work we accomplished and look forward to making more games for everyone to enjoy. Who would have thought making a bunch of rocks would end up helping learn how to model and texture. All it took was a game jam with such a time crunch to learn how to properly model, UV and texture objects! How do ya’ll like the textures? Quickly realizing why I dislike working with UI. Really makes sense why I try to design systems that rely on gameplay feedback rather than just putting information in a UI. I also find it more beneficial for immersion to have the world give you feedback and not just a general pop up. Sometimes issues pop up when you are working on games. Sometimes these are hard to fix with traditional means and you must push yourself outside of the box. Much like general software design and programming, game development requires tons of problem solving. As we see on the left, Dan used a virtual environment to help visualize a fix to one of our issues and it was a success! I found it as a really interesting approach that I have thought about using in the past and will look into using in the future!
