I know we all know that toph loves to cuss, but I just realized
She had an extremely sheltered upbringing, then when she snuck out to fight, she went to the Earth Kingdom version of WWE, which, if it’s like real world WWE, is family entertainment, and she never spent time backstage, she came she fought she left
I don’t think Toph knows any swear words
She learns to swear from team avatar and becomes all powerful.
I don’t think Sokka or Katara would know swears either; they grew up in a village consisting of them, Gram Gram, and a bunch of little kids and their moms
I don’t know if the airbenders taught aang swears or not but I know he’s not really the type to swear anyway
Zuko, on the other hand, spent about 3 years of his life as a young angry teenager surrounded by sailors
Zuko and Suki teach the Gaang to cuss— the Avatar spinoff.
Zuko when he joins Team Avatar
Toph’s REAL life-changing field trip
Toph when Zuko stubs his toe and lets out a string of curses
This is the funniest thing i’ve heard my entire life 😭
Truth xD
This is literally me as a kid. Dad used to have the responsibility of giving out the well reports that came in on the friday night to anyone who phoned for the rest of the weekend. The problem was, on saturday mornings, he was doing the food shopping, so I was given a list of approved callers and he’d leave the well report figures by the phone.
Theoretically I was just supposed to list off the numbers. Except. Very early I started parsing the figures and give my own analysis. Apparently engineers and geophysicists got a bit freaked out by a ten year old going ‘It’s not that good, the flow’s really slow compared to last week, and there’s gas pockets really screwing up the flow in the east pipe judging by the pressure report.’
Dad still got that yelled at him at conferences: ‘This is the fucker who used child labour to do well analysis!’
‘Was it wrong?’
‘That’s the not the point!’
We found him- the 20 year old with 10 years experience
Demon slayer prompts 2
1. After a lower demon presented photos of all the hashiras to Muzan, Doma found them and decided to call thier master and the other Upper Moons together to play smash or pass.
It goes pretty well, but when Doma realized they had all voted Smash on the water hashira, he proposed a challenge. Whoever could seduce him would be the winner.
After convincing everyone to agree, he then found Giyuu and told him about the challenge. Why? Cause he thought it would be hilarious.
Shinobu just wants to know why Tomioka is suddenly hoarding wisteria incense like his life depended on it.
2. Kokushibo enrages a witch, which didn't even know was a real thing up until that point, and she casts a curse on him turning him into a cat.
He's still a demon, sure but now he's stuck in the form of a little feline and can't sense his lord or call for help.
Fortunately, a young man finds him and takes him in.
Unfortunately, that young man is the water hashira and can sense a strange amount of demonic energy around this cat.
Aka Kokugiyuu where Kokushibo falls in love with Giyuu
3. Reincarnation au where Giyuu was Michikatsus secret gay lover in a past life, but between the period typical homophomia, the expectations to produce a family heir, and his desires to become a samurai, he decided to break up with his boyfriend.
It was years later when he was patrolling as a demon slayer that he had found his former lovers' body half devoured by a demon. He blamed himself for not being there for him, and it was one of his life's greatest regrets.
So when he's battling in the infinity castle against all those hashiras, he wasn't expecting to see his former lover there reincarnated but in bad shape.
His heart ached, and suddenly, nothing else seemed to matter. Not the hashira, not their emerging marks, not even his decendant pinned to a wall by his own sword. He needed to escape with this Giyuu and have his lord turn him into a demon. He needed his lover to stay with him forever.
He ignored the others cries as he batted to broken sword out of his lovers hands and ran away with him over his shoulder.
He will not lose him again.
It was as he was running that he noticed the walls of the infinity castle weren't changing. Not only that, the infinity castle hadn't regenerated at all when he was fighting with those other warriors. Something was clearly wrong and he felt foolish for not noticing it earlier.
He rushed to where he knew Nakime would be and managed to save her from some unknown demon. Once she was freed, he didn't hesitate to order the removal of all humans from the infinity castle, save for the one still squirming on his shoulder.
Aka the infinity caste ark ends very differently. The war wages on with tanjiro and co becoming hashiras and Muzan surviving and trying to rebuild. Many of the hashiras didn't die to Muzan thanks to Kokushibo preventing the fight in the first place.
This can go so many ways. Horror/angst from Giyuus perspective? Sure. Cute fluff as kokushibo tries to woe his former beloved all over again while getting caught in flashbacks? Absolutely. Crack fic where yandere kokushibo is trying to spoil Giyuu rotten while the water pillar tries in vain to escape their embrace? Lol.
4. Time travel au where Giyuu is sent back after he dies from his mark at 25. He wakes up to Sabito telling him breakfast was ready.
Unsure if the life he lived was real or just a dream, he tells his Sensei about his dream, including details about Kanzaburo, the upper moons, the infinity castle, Muzan, ect. Until Urokodaki asked for him to pause and came back with some soft wax and paper, asking him to draw some of the people he remembered.
Little did he know those drawings were going to be sent directly to the Ubuyashiki family, and it would turn his and Sabutos lives upside down.
At least he can show Sabito all the cool moves he learned with the extra decade or so he had been alive.
5. Just in Time au where Giyuu makes it to the Kamado family home just in time to face Muzan... and get his butt kicked pretty hard. He put up a decent fight but ended up with more of Muzans blood in his body than his own.
The demon king leaves, not expecting Giyuu to survive and seeing no point to try and turn a bunch of weaklings when back up could be coming. The kamado family care for the man who saved thier lives as he is unconscious and turning.
Fearing what the demon king said about Gyuu not being able to stop himself from eating the family If he survived, Kie Kamado remembered a stash of ancient sorcery/forbidden medicine books that were passed down through uer family and found the section about making talismans to control, banish and subdue evil spirits. Using the dried heads of the blue spider lillies she kept for medical reasons, she crafted a set and slapped one for control onto the demon slayer chest.
Tomioka screamed like he had been struck by lightning but otherwise went right back into a fistful rest. When he next awoke-wild and ravenous, he was immediately held down while the mother poored a glass of her own blood down his throat while some of the her kids preformed some sort of ritual.
After that his mind returned to him and he was the "Gaurdian spirit of the family". Naturally he can't return to the demon slayer core as a demon, nor will he just sit back as demons continue to kill innocent people.
The kamado family, feeling they owe a life debt to him, join him on a journey to find a cure for his affliction. They do everything in thier power to help Giyuu, including wearing his hiori and telling the tale of how a demon slayer fought the demon king himself and saving thier family, but losing his life in the process to anyone who seems to recognize it.
Did I mention that Giyuu is training everyone? Even the 3 year old gets age appropriate breathing lessons to strengthen his lungs. It's all fun and games until the sweet, gentle looking lady and her toddler dislocates your jaw.
And of course, they need to arm themselves with nichirin blades, so they just steal them from slayers that Giyuu rescues from demons. You would think this would earn the ire of the sword smiths, but they instead feel flattered that they like them so much.
Thankfully between the daily cup of blood Kie has to give him every day as part of thier spirit contract and the fact he keeps eating other demons, Giyuu rarely goes hungry but he lives in fear that he might run across an upper rank demon that would be both smart enough and strong enough to attack the talisman on his chest or kill Kie to place him back under Muzans control.
Giyuu did not know what a pokemon was or why everyone wanted to fight poor Kanzaburo, but he wasn't going to let anyone harm his crow.
More importantly, he needed to figure out where he was and how to get back home. He needed his crow to scout the area but was concerned that another person might throw a "pokeball" at his bird again. It won't work. He knows it won't capture him from past experience, but that didn't change the fact that the ball could hit Kanzaburo and hurt him.
So, a sacrifice must be made. He tore a piece of his hiori and tied it around his beloved friends neck like a scarf before sending him out, knowing this would deter any would-be bird snatchers.
Giyuu picked up an old pokeball from the forest floor. He still didn't quite understand this world, but he was starting to catch on. Maybe it's time he finds some new bird friends for Kanzaburo.
Missions sometimes ended in unexpected ways. Most end with injuries or a blow to your sanity, but on rare occasions they end with a new ally joining the corps.
Giyuu thought this wasn't much different as he lifted the swaddled baby into his arms. The familiar peach pink of her hair brought back joyful memories of his best friend as he gently shifted his hold on her to support the head. It looked like the girl was there for hours at best and days at worst. There was no note, no clothing, no name. Only a baby left alone in the dark woods.
With his mission complete, he returned home with a mental note to request a few crows watch the area on the slight chance he was wrong and the parents hadn't abandoned her. In the meantime, he had a lot of things to buy and learn to properly care for this child.
First things first, however. He sent Kanzaburo to Urokodaki to tell him about the baby in his home. Maybe he'll send the child to train under him one day, his former teacher would love another child to dote on, he's sure. For now, he would settle for some advice.
What he wasn't expecting was all the questions the other slayers and kukushi had for him. When they asked where he got her, he said he found her outside, not knowing they assumed he meant his doorstep. When they asked who the mother was, he simply replied that he didn't know. This-combinded with Giyuu being a very pretty man-quickly spiraled into the rumor that Giyuu Tomioka *got around* and ended up with a baby and didn't even know who the other parent was.
Everyone is aware of this rumor except him, who is busy being a loving dad.
Meanwhile, Shinobu and Sanemi, who had spent years fighting over Giyuu without him realizing, are now having borderline mental breakdowns over all the supposed competition and are trying to wedge themselves into Giyuu and the baby's life.
----
"Momoka." Giyuu said suddenly, causing Tanjiro to look up from the baby that was gripping her dad's finger.
"Huh?"
"Her name is Momoka, meaning peach blossom." He said, with a small smile on his face. The baby yawned, seemingly unbothered by the screaming and racket Inosuke and Zenitsu were causing.
"That's a beautiful name! Though... I wonder why she's so calm despite the noise. Most baby's would be crying by now."
"Oh, I think she's deaf." He responded casually, not taking his eyes off his little girl
"...huh?"
This was probably the 3rd worst day of his life.
Giyuu had been running into other demons slayers on nearly all of his undercover missions for the last few months. Luckily, none of them had recognized him since he was disguised as a woman every time. He's not sure he could survive the embarrassment if anyone found out.
That being said, his new predicament was...uncomfortable. The demon he had been fighting on this recent undercover mission had been able to teleport, and unfortunately for the water hashira, he was mid teleportation when Giyuu sliced his head off.
Now Giyuu is in another world, in full drag, and has to deal with an adult version of Sabito falling in love with him at first sight. He's not even sure what to tell him and just disappears the moment his back is turned. Giyuu has plenty of money on him, so being jobless in this world isn't going to be an immediate problem, but he's going to miss Kanzaburo and his hiori.
The only good thing about this is that he's far enough back in the past to save Rengoku. Unfortunately, he'll have to be quick about it so...he'll be fighting uper moon 3 while dressed as a beautiful woman in a facy kimono.
The gods must hate him.
This was punishment for what he did to his sisters fiancé. It had to be.
Giyuu ducked beneath the next swipe of the sword, nearly dropping the paper bag of medical gauze he had just purchased to restock Lady Tamayos supply. He rounded a corner and kicked a barrel over to trip the swordsman. This did nothing to slow him down as the guy simply sliced the barrel apart with his weapon. It made a pretty green arc as it tore through wood and air alike, and Giyuu would have liked to stop and appreciate the lovely hue if it was under less lethal circumstances. He kept running, frantically trying to find a way out of this situation with his neck intact. He couldn't run back to the clinic, or else they would all be killed, but if he kept racing around back alleys in a panic, then he'll eventually get cornered.
He wasn't sure what to do. Usually, Yushiro would give him one of his talismans to disappear, but he had left without telling anyone and forgot to grab one of the way out. Worse, this guy was fast and wasn't giving up his dogged pursuit anytime soon. Between his white hair and wide bloodshot eyes, the guy looked unhinged.
Wait. That was it! The guy looked stark raving mad! He doubled back, narrowly avoiding a swipe that would have taken off his arm and running towards the more populated streets. As a bigger city, Tokyo remained very active, even in the dead of night.
As expected, the guy didn't let up and raced after him towards the crowded area. He kinda felt bad for what he was about to do, but he didn't really have much of a choice, "Help! This crazy guy has a sword!" A little boy shouting for help got people's attention quickly, and it wasn't long before police officers were blowing their whistles and civilians were warily surrounding him. The little demon took no chances and fled while the slayer was distracted.
Still not feeling safe enough to return to the clinic, he heads in the opposite direction and runs through the illusion of a brick wall into one of Yushiros hidey holes. Sure, it was just an alleyway with two hidden exits, but right now, it gave Giyuu a chance to breathe. He flopped down onto the dirty ground, hugging the bag so hard it was getting crushed in his grip. Bringing his knees up to curl into the fetal position didn't help the situation either.
Giyuu knew he should just wait here for Yushiro to come get him. He knows the older demon will only act mad to cover up the fact he was worried about him, which somehow feels even worse than if he was actually angry. He needed to think of something nice to do for him once he got home.
Pulling out a blood bag from his pocket covered the sound of someone's approach. Unaware of this new presence, he opens the baggie and starts slurping the lunch Lady Tamayo had prepared for him...
---
Aka au where Giyuu gets turned into a demon by Muzan as a kid and ate his sisters fiancé the night before her wedding. Seeing what he had done and the look of horror on her face, he runs away and is eventually found and taken in by Lady Tamayo, who alters him to be like her and Yushiro.
That being said, he is now an eternal child (who is very adorable) and is doted on by his new family and is haunted by his past
This is some of the most straightforward characterization Grace gets in the book and it's hilarious
absolute perfection in a single paragraph. From this, we can see:
Grace has a warped self-perception. He insists he's not a "people person" but gets along with majority of the crew, is a literal middle school teacher who the kids love
he's so sassy bro. "I seem friendly only bcuz I stood next to Stratt"
also establishes why so many ppl thought Grace was second-in-command, like he's usually always standing next to Stratt
Grace just does not know how important he is to the project lol
I think this ship (spaceship) is really funny
think about it long time
The most PATHETIC lil baby sounds...
I love when little creatures who are entirely loved and well cared for have the BIGGEST baby reactions to normal things. Like yes sweet pea, you DO have the hardest life of anyone ever, for sure, and you’re SO BRAVE about this minor inconvenience of *checks notes* having some water touch you
There is nothing sadder and more pathetic than a baby marine mammal having to get into the water. They are suffering the most out of any baby animal ever. How dare they be introduced to their natural environment.
Consider this (based on a conversation I had with some friends a while ago): Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for people who actually like Pride and Prejudice. Look–I tried to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and I got about 20 pages in before I came to the conclusion that the person who wrote it did so out of the belief that the original Pride and Prejudice was stuffy and boring. There were out of character vulgar puns. And the trailer for the movie did not convince me that I had missed anything by cutting short my reading experience. So, what I’m talking about here is this premise: the world of Pride and Prejudice, but if you die, it’s highly likely, almost certain that your corpse will get up and try to eat people. But no one dies in Pride and Prejudice, you might say. In fact, few or no people die in any Jane Austen novel. This is true. But people do get sick with some regularity. Imagine the tension added to Jane getting sick after going to visit Bingley if there was the chance that she would become a zombie after she died. Becoming a zombie in an eligible bachelor’s house probably would have seriously wrecked any chances of any of the living sisters ending up with him. Imagine Mr. Collins, as a minister, having the duty upon someone’s death of severing their head with a ceremonial plate or something that would prevent the corpse from rising. Obviously important, but this only makes him more self-important and obnoxious. And dangerous. For you see, in this version, Mr. Bennett, who stays in his office all the time, whose life is the only thing allowing Mrs. Bennett and her daughters to stay in the house–Mr. Bennett is definitely a zombie. He died at home, and Mrs. Bennett decided that, no way were they dealing with this, and so…just started faking it. Jane and Elizabeth know. The younger sisters don’t. In this universe, I think we have to go with zombies that are not any faster or stronger than the humans they were, and in fact tend to get weaker as time passes because their flesh is rotting. And…hmm, okay, how about they are pretty violent upon rising, and for about a week afterward, trying to bite people and spread the infection (even though most people are carriers anyway, but getting a nasty bite from a corpse will give you other stuff that will have you die while carrying the virus). But then they calm down and basically just start sort of attempting to act like they did in life, that is, taking habitual actions with no consciousness, in a depressing and desiccated way. So Mr. Bennett is a zombie, and Mrs. Bennett’s number one goal is to get her daughters married before anyone finds that out. And this, actually, makes Elizabeth’s refusal of Mr. Collins more frustrating for Mrs. Bennett–obviously Mr. Bennett didn’t tell Elizabeth that she could refuse Mr. Collins, because Mr. Bennett is dead, but Mrs. Bennett can’t say anything or the game would be up. Another question in this version–does Mr. Darcy find out about Mr. Bennett being a zombie somehow? Does Elizabeth find out that he knows and didn’t say anything and this is something that helps repair his earlier actions? Anyway, this is the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies that I was looking for.
Okay also: in the original, when Elizabeth walks through the rain all the way to bingley’s to care for Jane while she’s sick, it’s a very dramatic expression of both Elizabeth’s love for her sister and her penchant for flamboyant rebellion, but consider, if there is a chance Jane will wake up a zombie and Elizabeth knows it, how does that change the dynamic? Elizabeth might be going to help take care of Jane, or to *take care* of Jane should things take a more morbid turn…by killing her zombie sister.
This works especially well if zombieism is communicable prior to death; if mr. Bennett is a zombie and only the elder Bennetts know, that means Jane has been pre-exposed and is almost certain to wake up as a zombie should she die in the Bingleys’ care— which the Bingleys do not know. Elizabeth has to forge through the rain to be there in case things get ugly, because she knows that the Bingleys aren’t prepared.
And I think you pretty much HAVE to make Mr. Bennett’s zombie status play a role in how and why Darcy separates Bingley from Jane—the heavy implication behind Darcy’s line about the want of propriety shown even by her father hits Elizabeth like a ton of bricks as she realizes he knows—he knows, and he thought Jane lying to Bingley about it was evidence that Jane didn’t love Bingley—but—but Darcy must not have told Bingley that part of it. Bingley couldn’t keep a secret on his life; if he knew, his sister would know, and word would already be out and they’d have been ruined by now—
And of course, not only does the fact that Darcy, who owes their family nothing, has kept and continues to keep this secret for them even after Elizabeth’s refusal deepen the gratitude she begins to feel for him after the letter of explanation, but it also liberates Elizabeth to fall in love with him. Because Elizabeth-who-wants-to-marry-for-love would never be happy marrying someone who didn’t know the family secret in advance. She had resigned herself to spinsterhood because she couldn’t be satisfied with having to hoodwink someone to have their hand, but also couldn’t put her family at risk by trusting someone who wasn’t bound to them by more than an engagement. (Maybe she was even tempted to confide in Wickham at one point, and hasn’t Darcy’s letter proven she was absolutely right not to yield to that passing thought.) But Darcy figured it out himself, and he’s kept her trust, and she could fall in love with him without guilt—if she hadn’t already turned him down.
AND THEN LYDIA HAPPENS. And Darcy realizes immediately that Mr. Bennett can’t do anything to recover her—and if Mr. Bennett doesn’t do anything about Lydia, Mr. Collins might become suspicious, or even just officously involve himself, so find out the while thing. When Darcy blames himself for not revealing Wickham’s character, it’s with a much more immediate sense of urgency. It’s not that the other sisters’ marriage prospects being ruined may impoverish them down the road—it might immediately drag them all into destitution. That’s why he rushes off to go look for Lydia himself.
It started out way too normal
