OSHIE OWNS SOCHI!!
Spent the early hours of my Saturday cheering on the USA in their phenomenal win over Russia! The game was amazing from start to finish, couldn't have asked for a better reason to wake up at 7:30 than that! GO USA!
Love Is In The Air...
Happy St. Valentines week ya'll! (yep all 8 people besides myself and my dog that will see this).
Pretty crazy that we celebrate a saint whose only great accomplishments were being named "Valentine" and dying on February 14th. Odd? Sure... but I really do love this day regardless. I love the cheesy commercial, and all the candy on display, the bright colors of red, purple, and pink, especially in the midst of this dreary Ohio winter. I just like a holiday that is 100% surrounded around showing your love for others!
Now if I were to rewind a year... sure my post on here would have been a tad more cynical... meaning it may have read something similar to: "fucking, fuckity, fuck I hate fucking valentines day, and all the fucking happy, fucking people, and their fucking bright colors and fucking candy... a bunch of fat fuckers". Pardon my French. Whoopsie, sometimes a girl can get carried away ;)
Anyway as I was saying, being in a relationship makes this somewhat fabricated and invented holiday a lot more bearable, and just fun. It’s nice to remind that special someone you really care for them. Besides, who doesn’t want candy?
So happy valentines week to all the loners and lovers alike!
Winter wonderland... Spent the afternoon shoveling and skating on a pond for the first time :) Sometimes I love Ohio!
Valentine’s Day appropriate. :]
MRI, CT, VCUG, BIOPSY, and JOINT INJECTIONS. These are a few terms that will be rocking my internal sound track over the next few months while I transition into a new nursing position, in pediatric radiology! I loved my pediatric heart transplant and step-down unit, but I just kept feeling like i wanted a new challenge and new schedule to shake things up a bit. This new job is for sure different, swapping three days a week with holidays and weekends for five days a week with neither. I'm missing my group of floor nurses and staff like crazy already, but meeting new people can be fun... right?
The work flow is a huge change too, the floor is 100% busy 100% of the time, there is ALWAYS something that you can, or should be doing. However MRI seems a bit more relaxed, you have downtime, and yes, there are things to fill those voids but definitely not every minute, nor is the demand of the nurse nearly as intensive as on the floor.
It has only been two days, I've seen the inner workings of the department, and I think I could really come to love it after I get into a routine. So here's to change in this ever changing healthcare field!
Brr cold day in Ohio! Wish I could fast forward to spring already!!!
This post really caught my eye this snowy Saturday, as I perused the endless creative and unique posts that litter tumblr. My very best friend on this earth, has been dealing with something a kin to this post for some time now. It's strange, but in a way its making her even stronger and more empathetic than ever. She continues sparing an old loves feelings, while they find a new path of friendship, beyond a passionate romance. It's promising for me to see that a break down of love, doesnt always mean you no longer harbor love for that person. Just that occasionally, you need space and time, to find a new way to share that love.

Ohio is cold. Apparently I forgot this fact from my childhood, or it got colder, or I'm simply growing more and more sensitive to it. Whichever it is, I miss the sun, the heat, and being outside. 3.5 more months. Yuck.

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Hello 2014, bye bye bye 2013!
2013 was overall a positive year, it began in Chicago on my first road trip with only male companions, and is going to end with the man of my dreams and my family having a nice dinner night in!
it was full of working at one of the best hospitals in the world, with some of the greatest people I've ever met. My co-workers are just the most fun and creative bunch of gals I know, I am so thankful to have a job, especially one I love!
It consisted of one Cavs game, four Indians games, and my very first NHL game of Tampa Bay Lightening vs. Pittsburgh Penguins. Pretty sure I supported the team on the losing end in every single game.
I traveled to Chicago, Oahu, Kauai, West Virginia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and Florida. The best trip was by far the 18 days in Hawaii, that experience with my family is something I will never forget as long as I live. The gorgeous scenery in the pictures cannot do justice to the amazing, jaw-dropping beauty of those islands! That trip included so many firsts, such as snorkeling, a helicopter ride, cliff jumping, and my first flight over two hours. The florida trip is also one to remember, it was my first travel experience with only the boyfriend for company, we went down for his Medical School interview and a week in the sun. We saw a ton of wild life and hiked all over. Then to top off the already great trip he got accepted Medical School down there. :) Couldn't ask for more than that!!
I snorkeled with sea turtles in the Pacific, saw manatees in the Gulf of Mexico, and got my very first dog, Baby. I rescued her from the APL, she was a one year old collie mix. She has become my best friend and side kick. I can't believe I went 23 years without her, because now I can't imagine not having her!
I moved out into a house with more than one roommate, which at times is difficult, but I have really loved the experience. Who knows where we will all end up, but I have a feeling all of us will accomplish great things! Also starting in 2014, we are adding one more lovely lady to the living mix, My best friend, I cannot wait!!
I purchased my first car "of choice" not convenience. My 2010 Subaru Forester is a dream! Heated seats, leather interior, huge sunroof, automatic locks and windows, and its a beast in snow! Who knew a girl could love a car so much!
Last but not least, I fell in love in the year 2013. I have met a guy who will someday change the world. He will accomplish his dreams of being a doctor and I have no doubt that his goals and ambitions will amount to much more beyond that!! I cannot wait to see what 2014 has in store for us, perhaps a big move to Florida!
Overall I have to say 2013 was wonderful! Bring on the future baby, I'm ready to continue this crazy thing called life!
Today I learned that this is called a nacreous cloud. Found over Antarctica, and appear as glowing, iridescent clouds. Want to see these someday!
A simple, snuggly, sleepy, splendid, slow, sunday :)
My favorite!!
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - “So Good At Being In Trouble”
One of my favorite tracks of 2013 is from the sophomore effort by Unknown Mortal Orchestra which, by the way, has some of the grooviest bass lines I’ve ever heard. I never would have imagined that psych rock could be so soulful.
