“There’s a lot of good food here, but I’m really missing Mom’s croquettes right now--!” what with Mother’s Day recently passing and all... even if Stella City is a nice place, she really does miss her family.

 “Y’know, for saying we came to this thing together, we’ve kinda been forgetting somethin’,” she spoke casually, a small grin overtaking her face much like when she had a terrible idea. Thankfully, this one was not one of those ideas, made distinct when all she did was offer out her hand for Mako to take.

 “Whaddaya say? Wanna get at least one dance into this date ‘fore we’re kicked out?”

Mako glances over at Ryuko, shoving the rest of her dessert into her mouth as she does so. she supposes the security sheep were staring at her a bit too much lately. she’s just having fun--! maybe a bit too much... but, attracting attention to herself is what she does best and she’s definitely going to make sure this is the best dance to ever grace Stella City!

“Aye aye!” instead of taking her hand, Mako wraps her arms around her and all but drags her onto the dance floor. “Let’s show ‘em how it’s done, Ryuko-chan!”

This girl was absolutely hilarious, Ann had witnessed her hallelujah outburst a little earlier on and quite frankly she was exactly the kind of person this party needed.

“You’re really rocking out there!”

   “I don’t blame you – But you should probably be a little more careful…you don’t want to get thrown out of this fancy as hell place.”

“T-They’d kick someone out for just having fun?!” blasphemous! what a silly thing to get mad at someone for. then again...she was used to it. “I didn’t know sheep could be so mean.”

while Ryuko’s off getting snacks, she’s on top of a chair, singing into an empty cup.

“I don’t know the words of this song, but that’s okay as long as you matchtherhythm!” the last few words are are sung very quickly, so as to, well, match the rhythm.

hands held up to the sky and with a spotlight (courtesy of the dance floor) on her, here comes Mako Mankanshoku with an important announcement-- one that may just warrant a hallelujah!

“Tonight’s an important night! Important!”

“Make sure you show off your amazing, wonderful date! They deserve it!”

“Take them by the hand and dance with them! Make the whole dance floor jealous of your sick chemistry and moves--! Don’t have a date? Don’t worry!”

“Go up to someone and kindly ask, ‘Will you dance with me?’ Compliment them! Lie if you have to!”

“Don’t worry about getting rejected! Don’t even worry about it!”

“Even if you do get harshly rejected, that’s not an excuse to not have fun! Find some friends! If you don’t have any, I’ll be your friend! Me and Ryuko will dance with you!”

“Mingle! Mingle! Force your way into friend circles! Mingle!”

“Now-- Get out there and have fun! Put your worries on the back burner! Full steam ahead!”

Oh no. Was this the thing he heard of? Has he accidentally woken up a sleep walker. Instead of expecting a terrifying screech or a slap in the face. This girl busts out a white rabbit and absconds away. The entire ordeal lasted only a few moment, long enough for Zack to not fully take in everything that happened. That was until. 

“Oh no! If she’s sleep walking she could be hit by a car.” 

Time to play hero. Zack ran and unzipped his jacket, a la a certain leaping from a single bound superhero. 

“I’LL SAVE YOU!!”

fortunately, it doesn’t take her long to realize that she isn’t back home and isn’t late for school. after all, this city couldn’t be more different from back home! Mako blinks as she comes to her senses and turns around-- just in time to see a stranger unzipping his jacket and coming towards her. while this may have alarmed others, she merely looks slightly surprised...contemplative...maybe even a bit amazed?

“Whoa--! Are you an exhibitionist?”

There was a whirl of momentum and color, of a swirling feeling that almost made him sick: then, he’d woken up in a place he did not know. This was not the art gallery he recalled faintly being in before! Furthermore, why couldn’t he…remember anything about where he’d been before waking up here? Why had he seen that swirl of colors before? Like…travelling through paint or something, but surely that was impossible.

Blinking and trying to subside his dizziness, there had been a cute sheep - and a handkerchief tied to his hand. Red stains covered the handkerchief - it still stung a little. W-when had his hand touched broken glass? None of it made any sense! Yet, something inside him felt like the handkerchief was important to keep safe, so he gently persuaded the sheep to not nibble at it, and read the letter it handed him.

…Stella City? That wasn’t where the Guretena exhibit was at all. Shakily leaving the sheep behind, he stepped into a city he did not recognize.

“W-what…how on earth? Why - where?”

His stammered disbelief fell to the wind, and he shakily fell to his knees from the shock of it all in the middle of the pavement. Someone please help somewhat calm down this poor timid rose man.

if she’s being honest, Stella City has been a pretty calm place when compared to her home. shops run by sheep and pastel colored streets were like a breath of fresh air after sentient clothing, dangerous battles, and a very mean rainbow lady! though...she did miss it. she missed her mom, her dad, her brother-- even the new “friends” she made. it would be so easy to get sad, but she vows to not let that happen. she’s determined--!

and, by extension of that, she doesn’t want others to be sad, either.

so, when she sees a troubled person, it is absolutely her duty to stop and make sure they’re okay. bending down to his level, Mako peers at him like he’s some new specimen. he seems...scared? maybe he’s afraid of sheep? after staring at him for a bit, she finally speaks.

“Are you alright down there?”

she’s minding her own business, more or less, when she spots a balloon drifting in the air not far ahead. it’s always such a sad sight--! it means that someone, somewhere is missing their balloon, probably separated by a particularly strong gust of wind. and they paid good money for that! 

nodding, Mako looks down at the small dog in her arms, Guts, and seemingly has the same idea as the canine. with good aim, she tosses the dog towards the balloon (go, Guts!) and cheers as he chomps down on the string. she runs to catch him, patting his head rewarding.

“This was yours, right?” she points to the balloon, the string still in Guts’ mouth, talking to a nearby person.

if you were to pay attention to the girl standing in the middle of the bazaar looking as if she’s having a crisis (it’d be difficult not to), you’d realize it was over something very dire. something so dire, the girl is almost in tears over her predicament.

what’s the issue, one might ask? well--

“Too many choices! Too many! I can’t decide if I want that takoyaki or the taiyaki or even that yummy looking stirfry over there--! Oh, but that crepe stand looks amazing, too.” she’s glancing back and forth between all the different stalls, gripping what is obviously only enough money for one of them. truly, life is hard.

 Okay, it had been a long time coming, but she had to admit - she was bored out of her mind. The place was too normal, and even if the wackiness of Honnouji Academy was gone in her home world, there was no way it was this dull! Docile sheep, no weaponry, just drifting along with life… God, even that ball she’d heard about coming up sounded like it’d make her fall asleep! She couldn’t deal with it anymore!

 The sound of a loud voice was almost a blessing with how out-of-the-blue it was, and the movement to catch the incoming friend-torpedo and safely set her down had become second nature by this point; she almost didn’t realise that it was strange to see her!

 “…Mako!” Aaand there it was. Her hands quickly moved up from her waist to her shoulders, bobbing her head back and forth as if to check it was the real Mako. “Since when were you here!? You doin’ alright? … I mean, if you’re throwin’ yourself around, I guess you’re as good as normal, but y’get my point!”

she expects nothing less from Ryuko and grins from ear to ear as her feet meet solid ground again. she knows she would have been able to handle this weird new city by herself (after all, she’s been dealing with life mostly by herself all her life!), but knowing that the other girl is here, too... well, it puts her at ease.

she feels...safe.

“Yes!” she flexes some pretty nonexistent muscles, theatrically punching the air in front of them to emphasize that she is, indeed, doing just fine and could take on anything that stands in their way...hypothetically. “I just got here today! Oh, but--” quickly, she pats Ryuko’s shoulders, her arms, her hips, then taps her head. “Are you doing okay? You feel like good ‘ol Ryuko-chan, you look like good ‘ol Ryuko-chan--!”

Did she…..Fall asleep standing up? Sleeping that was a normal thing to do. But in the middle of the street where any manner of dangerous predicument could come into play. It might be best to wake her up. Or else be another statistic of angry rams ramming 2: big horn boogaloo. 

“Uh….Hey” He whispered, a finger extended to poke at her shoulder. “HEEEEY. PERSON. WAKEY WAKEY EGGS AND BAKEY” 

Inhales. 

“HEY!”

luckily, when she falls asleep in random places, it’s not usually a very deep sleep. so, she’s waking up as soon as the stranger says eggs and bakey. ah, how she could really go for some breakfast right now!

so, those words having snapped her back to reality, she’s full awake in time for him to shout, earning a surprised screech from her.

“Huh? Huh?!” she glances around quickly, very obviously alarmed. “What’s with the yelling? Oh, no-- I’m late again, aren’t I? I knew it! I have to go then!”

stop her, because she’s ready to run off.

the girl can’t help but be surprised as she’s handed a gift by a tall...spider lady. though, when she speaks, it’s obvious she’s not concerned about the spider lady, but the fact she got a gift.

“For me?! Really?” although in awe, she gracious accepts the bouquet, blissfully unaware of the negative meaning spider lilies sometimes had. “Thank you, thank you!”

...the way she’s waving her arms around (flowers in hand), shaking the bouquet about, makes it seem as though they won’t be alive for very long.
