A plea from a flesh eating upstanding member of the public
Recent events in the public eye have led me to write openly to this publication, recent events that the general public en masse no doubt is highly aware of. Allegations of actions which may be deemed wholly unwanted in our society have apparently taken place. And as a figurehead in the movement in which members of have been blamed, I have decided that enough is enough. It is time for my people to leave the shadows and come forth with our heads held high and let our voices be heard.
I write of course from a bedside desk after attempting to contact a young man who has achieved a distinct notoriety in the press as of late, and it is well past midnight, a time I feel myself having grown extremely comfortable with. This bedside desk is of an apartment somewhere in London, of location I do not feel safe to reveal.
Now, such allegations on the whole are wide ranging and generally based on anecdotal evidence. As far as the general public is currently concerned, there is no hard evidence to show that the extreme acts committed upon persons within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have taken place. What the general public does know, is that several deaths have indeed been reported to, and investigated by, the police and Scotland Yard. Several daily publications (such as this one) have reported that the victims have been found with various unsightly wounds that suggest portions of their flesh have been bitten into. The wild fancies of the press have taken hold, and the fun game of gossip has begun. From this, Â scurrilous stories that the flesh is being eaten by people of a distinct group within British society, have begun to fester and ferment.
Furthermore, it is alleged that these people depend on the flesh to survive, in much the same manner  that have been depicted in fictional weird tales of fancy that have cropped up in the past century for the bemusement of the lower classes. This I must declare to be utter nonsense, with no statement being capable of being further from the truth.
I myself have become something of a public figurehead to these people, and have succeeded in connecting together a network of like-minded individuals who feel they are being persecuted by the majority.
When you look at all of the people suffering as a result of the actions that 'we' have supposedly taken, did you for a second consider how much peoples such as myself have suffered? I doubt it. I doubt it severely. Our rights and feelings have been pushed aside in favour of favouring those with utterly no agency whatsoever, those who are barely human themselves.
If I can detour through this narrative through a second, allow us to discuss the true worth of a human body.Through the teachings of Mohammed, Muslims believe that before the fourth month of gestation, a foetus does not have a soul. Now, if we extend this further (as we should in our so-called tolerant society), does a soul really come to inhabit a body at such an early stage? Academics in our society openly question whether or not one does exist. It does not exist in Descartes' pineal gland. From there, we must question whether human life has any sort of inherent meaning. Before my present state, I would have said that of course the human body and mind carries an essence to it that will be judged before Christ in the last days. But I feel that my outlook on life (and death) has shifted in recent times. In my present circumstances, I have developed a different set of beliefs and turned away from the shadow of God. Fear of the end times no longer drives me, as I have been past the end times and seen nothing.
Before going further I feel it is pertinent to supply the reader with several details of my life. I was raised in south London at the turn of the Twentieth Century in a large family of upper class repute. Frequently we were known to be members of Queen Victoria's assembly, and my father himself (although I will not name him) sat in the House of Lords. I worked as a lawyer, specialising in court cases that concerned members of high society, who had found themselves in unpleasant situations that, for the public good, would be best avoided. I lived a decent life into my thirties before being struck by an unfortunate illness regrettably common at the time.
It was five years ago that the far reaching radiation from the atomic testing in the Pacific allowed me to overcome my condition. I cannot attribute my reawakening to divine intervention, but it is hard to question why a man of my eloquence was given a semblance of life once more in such dire times. Perhaps it was of a power more distant from man than God that granted me another chance.
I cannot express to the reader how alarming this situation was for myself; the twin horrors of awakening suddenly in a confined box after only just seeming to pass away from consumption, and then finding myself in a deeply alien time. I discovered quickly that the old empire had fallen to the wayside, and I was struck by how manners of ranking persons within the remaining areas of the Queen's dominion had changed; phrenology and other physical estimations replaced by the theories of esteemed individuals such as Freud and Lacan, bluntly forced into boundaries of a curiously socialist boundary. Such theories struck me immediately as oppositional to common sense.
Looking over the recent history of the United Kingdom, it has had a curious history. It seems have brushed close to 'totalitarianism' (as it such manners of organisation are now apparently deemed) at one point when the Germans became excessively ambitious, and men and women were forced by necessity to undergo significant hardship. Considering the problems that British society faces at this present moment, would it not be right to ask the men and women of Britain to undergo radical changes to their situations like their distant relatives did so long ago now?
After much discussion with several members of the police force and of the government, the charges were dropped against me, citing a succinct lack of evidence. I freely admit that the body of the young woman was taken by me for my own use; but what of it? A person of my high standing benefits more from her death than the ongoing payment to such a person to go on living a rather pointless life. If I had not taken her materials for my own use, this article and the defense of my people would not exist, and society would continue on to vigourously discriminate against these persons. And where would we find ourselves then? British values would further degenerate, even further than in recent years.
Throughout this piece the reader may have realised that I have held off from making use of a certain term that I and my colleagues have decided to deem discriminatory. I will not utilise this slur in my defense here, but I am sure the ever intelligent reader may be able to work it out. We prefer not to use the 'Z' word, as you may find that my eloquence has not dropped since the radiation fully infected my body, and with it has remained the totality of my intelligence. Certain members of our haven may appear to have lost their abilities to reason as fully as myself, but I must bring attention to the fact that this is only a facade. Given the bombardment of negative propaganda surrounding my people, is it any surprise that some of our numbers have decided to give in to it and act out their wildest desires, however twisted they may appear on the face of things?
It would be easy on the face of things for many of my people to simply cease eating and expire. We feel no pain, our nervous system having hollowed out in a similar fashion to leprosy, and we feel only the incessant hunger that cannot be quenched by the meat of animals. But do we not have a right to go on with our existence? We have given much to this country and the people that inhabit it, and it is only right and fair that we receive something in payment.
If we take the incident that has caused the most widespread significant outrage so far, the one concerning young Gerald, we may begin to de-mystify the reasons for the prejudice held against us. Gerald Havins was of course 'arrested' a week ago this past Thursday, and I must stress the use of my inverted commas here. The manner in which Gerald has been detained for five days now is despicable; chaining a man to a wall with no allowance for the defense of his character is in direct contradiction with the Geneva Human Rights (at least as I understand it). I know that there have been two so-called World Wars since my passing (oh yes, I learn very quickly for somebody with supposedly no independent thinking!), but the ideals of freedom surrounding a man of high standing should surely still be the same.
Now, I am unable to contact Gerald directly, but I have learned that the poor man is 'unable to communicate in coherent sentences, or even words'. I, or any other members of the public, am unable to verify the truth of this statement as the mock coup d’etat that has taken hold within the government disallows any individuals from coming into contact with the detained (whether it be Mr. Havins or any others), these individuals of course having been taken into the charge of the para-military order set up to deal with them.
I have to say that the immediate assemblage of such a unit is rather distressing to this writer; it feels almost as if Mr. Havins has simply fufilled a fantastical dream of the government, and given them a reason to persecute any parties that they wish within the empire, discarding the Magna Carta with barely a second thought. Is all of this not worrying to the general public? What is the real threat here?
In light of my stance towards the Havins case, I feel I should make my own involvement in similar cases clear if I am to earn the trust of the public.
I must admit that I did find myself in a situation that may be deemed by the press and the media 'unpleasant', to say the least. It was on a Saturday night after a late meeting with persons of lifelessness like myself that I came across a young woman, incapacitated by the vast alcohol she had consumed probably at a club. I tried to help her, I really did. But my unmortal frame had grown weak from a lack of the required substance in recent months... she was reported missing several days later by a flatmate. She had been studying a course on hairdressing with no clear aspirations to become a hairdresser. One must concern oneself with the question of whether or not her life was a meaningful one. One must concern oneself with the question of whether or not my constitution is vastly helped by her sacrifice.
And so, a bargain of sorts has been set up between myself and the relevant parties, and the government. More complicated solutions could be devised – so much is undeniable - but would such solutions also decrease required spending on the elderly, the sick, or the disabled? The arrangement that we have come to with the government, and by proxy, the people, makes economic sense of the highest order. The razor used by Henry of Occam has rarely fallen short in application, and in this case the simplest answer is to allow us to make use of members of society the government may deem unfit to continue on.
To strike to the heart of the matter (and end pointless regression) I find that after I arrived in this new apparently more enlightened age, my beliefs and urges have only been persecuted and slammed by proponents of certain ideas. All of this I find greatly hypocritical, and hope that this piece reaches the attention of persons who may be in the position to stop such atrocities against my comrades.
If the atrocities do not stop, I cannot be held responsible for what happens in the aftermath. The individuals that I am associated with can be extremely free spirited, and I am told that our numbers only grow every day. What will happen if we are not granted rights I truthfully can not prophesise on the subject of. If I was to give my unintelligent verdict, I would say that the future would be rather bleak for those that do not think in a similar manner to ourselves. These are changing times for Gods country, and they are only to grow harder. It is time for the people of Britain to accept the reality of the situation.
