'Under Monet's Pond' by Eiko Jones
First book of 2022 ✨
We are following a 100 yo man who thinks that his life needs to end. But the angel of death won't come. Finally, our protagonist decides to escape from his retirement home without any plan. During his travel, he finds himself with a lot of cash with their consequences.
We also learn about his past which is rich of adventurous episodes : he met General Franco, Stalin, Mao, Truman and other celebrities.
The pace of this book is a well-balanced between a slow and speed rhythms. I was amazed by the story of this character by his tremendous face and his calm personality.
I definitely recommend this one, even if I gave it a 3.5/5 ⭐.
