Starcraft 2 as a news organization

agentkaypar sent me the following story:

I recently played a StarCraft II player-made map called Infinite Defense, which invites players to a land rich with resources and bids them to defend their bases against intermittent waves of enemies.

Instead of attempting to do anything useful, like, you know, build defenses, I pretended that the sensor towers, which do nothing but show enemy movement, were broadcast relays, and part of my broadcast network. I attempted to get as much coverage on the map as I could while the other armies put on a show for me to televise.

Two other players actually stuck with me though it all, for some reason. Around the 55 minute mark, their defenses fell, and we watched in terror as my media empire crumbled, one tower at a time, ushering in the end of the war, and, more importantly, the bankruptcy of my company.

We used to play Typing of the Dead with four players. You have the two typists face away from the screen and then have two people watching the game and calling out the attacks. It’s a fun mess.

God, can you imagine the hysteria? People angrily demanding to know how to spell words, making typos and not knowing where they went wrong. Suffering, like G did.
